Overview
This exquisitely restored 18th-century Masseria Lugana is situated in Martina Franca, at the heart of Puglia. Nestled amidst a lush park of nearly 14,000m2, complete with a swimming pool and spacious solarium area, this sophisticated holiday home is ideal for hosting groups of families and friends for a luxurious Italian escape.
Inside, the elegant décor and tasteful furnishings set amongst the ancient stone walls and archways allow the charm and age of the home to shine through. Luminous and airy spaces will transport you back in time while still ensuring modern-day comforts. As you ascend the staircase of the main building, you'll be welcomed into a sizeable hall, followed by a living room, fully-equipped kitchen and charming dining room, perfect for feasting on delicacies from local towns. Additionally, this level boasts five spacious and finely styled double bedrooms.
Outside is where the magic really happens. The enchanting night lighting accentuates the grandeur and magnificence of the villa structure, while the surrounding park of almost 14,000m2 will take your breath away. The lawns are lusciously verdant, dotted with foliage, and provide a serene spot for sunbathing or some fun in the sun with the kids. The swimming pool is ideal for cooling off afterwards.
Two independent structures adjacent to the pool and solarium areas are furnished with changing rooms and a large open space with a kitchen, living, and dining area, providing guests with the perfect location for poolside dining.
The nearest Valle d'Itria town of Martina Franca is just 5 minutes away by car. With baroque and rococo architecture, large piazzas, and a striking combination of white-washed buildings and colourful flowers, it’s a great place to explore. At its best during the warm evening light, it’s a wonderful place to dine out on Puglia’s fantastic food - the region’s orecchiette pasta is a must-try.
Other towns to visit include Alberobello, famous for its trulli-lined streets, and the whitewashed city of Ostuni, both within a 35-minute drive. For shimmering shores, coastal villages such as Torre Canne and Polignano a Mare are just a little further away.
What you should know…
- There is an expansive garden so we recommend keeping an eye on little ones running around.
- While the villa is close to a town, it may be worth hiring a car to explore the region.

In occasion of my wedding I was looking for something special for an outstanding event and as a wonderful extraordinary place where to live
What was it about the property that you first fell in love with?
The historic city of the masseria, all made in stone, which is rare for the area since most masserias are in tuff and secluded in the countryside, while this one is so close to the beautiful centre of Martina Franca while surrounded by lush greenery with utmost privacy.

It dates back to the 18th century hence it’s rich in history and our careful renovation which lasted several years respected the heritage while turning into a luxury residence with all comforts and amenities and we have our own olive grove to make homemade olive oil.
Have you ever had any famous guests staying?
Yes, several important singers and rappers and a sheik, but out of privacy their names cannot be disclosed.
For anyone coming to stay, is there anything you suggest that they really…
