Trulli Posidone

In October 2023, I and several friends had the pleasure and adventure of a weeklong stay at Trulli Posidone, located about a 10 minute drive from Ostuni in a quiet area of private residences each surrounded by olive tree orchards and the most beautiful low stone walls that populate so much of Puglia. The location was perfect for us; we had rental cars and toured various communities each day meeting up in the evenings to sample restaurants in Ostuni. This property accommodated two in our group who needed a quiet space to do a little work while on holiday in the two-bedroom downstairs house, and hosted the rest of us in the upper house which contains three bedrooms plus kitchen, bathrooms, dining and living rooms and the wonderful indoor pool. We especially enjoyed the outdoor areas - spacious terraces, dining tables, outdoor furniture, beautiful views and space to relax. Since the weather in October was a little cool in the evenings, we didn't have a chance to enjoy the outdoor swimming pool but did appreciate the heating units located in each bedroom to take the chill off the early mornings. Trulli of Stars has long been a family home, with the owners just a short distance away. When we had an issue with water pressure, the owners immediately had it taken care of. Since we were interested in sampling the cuisine of Puglia in area restaurants, we used the kitchens primarily for breakfasts and snacking. An early highlight of our time at this property was the dinner the hosts prepared at our request for the day we arrived since we were all arriving at different times and methods. The food was great and even better was the hospitality of the hosts who toured us through the property, arranged a welcome table of food and drinks, and were gracious and enthusiastic in welcoming us to their family property. They were responsive, helpful, and warm - an unexpected feature of our stay.

Just had the most amazing 10 days stay at Trulli Posidone. The Trulli was clean and comfortable and had everything we required. The outside kitchen and bbq and pizza oven were fab there are so many lovely seating areas and the pools are fantastic. Our host was a god send - nothing was too much trouble, so helpful, we would have been lost without him. Would definitely return.

We had a fabulous time at Trulli Posidone and it was made even better by the fantastic support that was given to us by the owner and the welcomer. Nothing was too much for them to do for us. The owner facilitated a brand new travel cot for our stay before our arrival. There was a lovely meal waiting for us after our late arrival and the host not only booked and recommended so many fantastic restaurants and activities, he also found a bottle of Prosecco that we loved in a restaurant so that we could bring some home. What a holiday, what a place.

Where to start? This holiday for us was absolutely wonderful. The host was simply fantastic, he was kind and helpful, he fixed any issues we had straight away. What stood out to both my husband and I, the most, was when I messaged Alan asking if there was a fan for the living room as our daughter had a fever of 40 degrees and we couldn't get the living room cool enough. Within 2 hours he showed up at the Trulli with a brand new stand alone fan that we were able to use to help keep her cool. He made sure he did everything he could to ensure our trip was as smooth and relaxing as possible. Any time we needed information, he provided us with great local knowledge and brilliant tips. The Trulli was gorgeous, so beautiful and had great privacy too. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time looking for satellites with our kids and playing in the pools. The rooms were lovely and the beds were super comfortable. The air-conditioning made the hot Italian summer bearable! My kids were so happy to have a TV with netflix on it, such an added bonus! Especially when my daughter was very unwell. It was really such a great experience and we are so lucky we were able to spend 6 days in Ostuni at Trulli Posidone. We'd all go back in a heartbeat.

We had a truly magical week here. From start to finish it was incredible relaxing and everything we needed. The main Trulli, stone house and grounds full of olive trees are just beautiful - the indoor pool was a real bonus especially as we were there in October when it got a little colder later in the day. We were lucky enough though to have sunny days and be able to sit around the wonderful new outdoor pool and enjoy the stunning views over the surrounding countryside. We were 2 families and there was plenty of room for all of us - the grounds are made up with lots of different terraces and places to sit and relax. We enjoyed the pizza oven and had fun time all making pizzas. The house is kitted out with everything you need. The host was so helpful from start to finish - always responsive on messages. He arranged for a “Welcomer” to greet us on arrival - he went above and beyond what we expected. He recommended day trips, booked tours and tables in fabulous local restaurants for us - far better than most hotel concierge! It was lovely meeting the host and his family when they came to harvest the olives - they even let us join in and help which was a wonderful experience. It is a very special place and we will definitely be back.
