Overview
Lying within rolling farmland and hectares of olive groves and orchards, Trullo Imo is a collection of traditional agricultural buildings which have been transformed into a beautiful home, sleeping up to eight guests. While staying here, you can choose between country walks and lazy afternoons around the pool or exploring the nearby towns, cities and beaches.
Where better to stay on a Puglian holiday than in a historic Trullo; a whitewashed, conical dwelling native only to this region of Italy. The property comprises two Trulli and an additional building, creating a spacious and welcoming home for your party.
The centuries-old buildings have been lovingly restored so that the original vaulted stone ceilings, fireplaces and pretty exteriors remain but have now been enhanced by modern furnishings and décor. The simple colour palette allows the home's features to shine through, highlighted by the natural light. You can find whitewashed stonework, terracotta tiles and high-quality furniture in every room.
The first of the dwellings, Trullo One, offers a large, fully-fitted kitchen and dining space, a double bedroom and a sumptuous bathroom with a masonry bathtub where two guests can soak in a romantic bubble bath. In Trullo Two, there is another double room with an en-suite bathroom. The third building, the Annexe, can sleep four guests in a double bedroom and on a sofa bed in the spacious living area, which also has a kitchenette for preparing drinks and light meals.
Whichever of the buildings you are sleeping in, you are sure of a relaxing stay, and when you wish to gather together as a group, you could meet up in the living space of Trullo One or head into the vast garden. As the weather is often wonderful, you will want to spend lots of time outside; there is an expansive dining terrace, an inviting pool and a garden filled with cacti and trees. Enveloping this garden is also 1.5 hectares of privately owned grounds filled with orchards and olive groves. Guests can walk through these grounds or settle beneath a tree for a tasty picnic.
When you wish to head out for the day, you could head into one of the nearby towns, such as Francavilla Fontana, which is 7km away or San Michele Salentino, 8.5km away. If you would like to peruse a wider range of shops and historic attractions, why not visit the fantastic city of Ostuni, which is 18km away by car.
In addition to the wonderful towns and cities, guests can enjoy days lounging on some of Puglia's finest beaches, there are many beaches under 30km away, such as Specchiolla beach with its soft sand and beach clubs, or you could discover the gorgeous, protected beaches of the Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve, home to hiking routes, sand dunes and forested areas.

Location
About the surrounding area of Trullo ImoTrullo Imo offers guests an idyllic home from home in Puglia's open countryside. You will see olive and fruit trees, shrubs and red earth everywhere you look, creating a beautiful environment. The property's buildings are period farmhouses and have become one with the landscape, the perfect spot for immersing yourself in Puglian life. When you want to see more of the area, why not spend a day in the historic, walled city of Ostuni or enjoy a lazy day at the beach?
The Trullo is a brilliant base for getting out in nature and making the most of the beautiful landscape of Puglia's interior. Close to home, you can head out on foot or by bike to explore the scenic trails through the countryside, or you may prefer to see the rolling hills on horseback. Another great option is to visit a local vineyard, you could opt to visit one for the day, or you could book a tour which departs from Francavilla Fontana and can take you to four wineries in a day and includes a delicious Puglian lunch.
Though the home is set inland, you can also easily reach the sweeping coastline as the closest beaches are under 30km away. Those who love hiking and traversing trails through woodlands and rugged coastal paths could spend the day in the protected parkland of Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve, which is 30km away. The park also has vast areas of sand dunes, marshlands and, of course, an array of pristine, natural beaches. These are just a few of the beaches available to guests. Those with little ones may require a beach with changing and toilet facilities and eateries nearby or prefer the comfort of a luxury beach club with sun loungers and parasols. Apulian Beach Club (26km away) ticks all of the boxes.
Aside from the splendid landscape and beaches, you also have an array of villages, towns and cities to choose from when you fancy a spot of shopping or wish to dine out in the evenings. The closest town is Francavilla Fontana, which is only 7km from the home, though several rural shops and restaurants are also dotted around the local area. Francavilla Fontana is an authentic Italian town where the locals go to socialise and shop. The historic streets offer some lovely attractions, such as the imposing Chiesa Matrice or the mother church, which has one of the largest domes in the region. You can also visit parts of the huge castle which dominates the town, Castello Palazzo Imperiali. The modern part of town has an attractive layout, and the palm-lined streets and the bustling piazzas are filled with shops, cafes and restaurants. A lovely way to spend your morning is sipping a coffee and sampling the pastries at a small café which overlooks the Chiesa Matrice.
There are many more towns and cities you can visit too, such as San Michele Salentino, which is 8.5km away, Latiano and Ceglie Messapica, which are each 17km away and of course, the 'White City' of Ostuni, which sits on a hilltop 18km away.

A really lovely villa
This is a really lovely villa mixing the old trulli with modern additions. The design and furniture is very modern and had everything we needed. The gardens were beautiful with figs, olives, pomegrantate and almonds in abundance. Pool was perfect size and lovely area to sunbathe. Close to lots of beautiful towns and restaurants or you can stay in and cook. Highly recommended.
