Overview
Located in the rural heart of Puglia you will find Trullo Mendula. This 250-year-old traditional Trullo building has been lovingly restored and is an idyllic base for your escape to Italy’s heel.
Tucked away on a small country lane with just a few other homes, olive groves and fields surrounding it, Trullo Mendula is a spacious family home which sits in 2 hectares of walled grounds. The location is perfect for a holiday as you can spend plenty of time relaxing in this peaceful setting and yet you are not isolated as the villa is in between Ceglie Messapica and Ostuni which are both lovely places to visit.
This light and airy home is made up of the main villa and an adjoining four-coned Trullo, a type of building specific to this area which is a quaint stone dwelling with a conical roof. In addition to this there is a charming separate annexe by the pool. In total the villa can sleep up to 12 guests and with 4 of these sleeping in the annexe this means the house is ideal for two families travelling together or a larger group of friends as you can spend time with each other when you wish to but also have your own space.

The home centres around a large open-plan room with sofas and dining table plus a fully-fitted kitchen which is a great place to unwind and chat over a meal.
You are likely to spend lots of time outside enjoying the weather in the vast garden where you will find a number of covered seating nooks and dining areas as well as a gorgeous private pool. This tranquil garden is an oasis filled with lawns, olive trees and native planting.
When you wish to nip out for something to eat, there are a number of restaurants dotted around the surrounding hillsides and the town Ceglie Messapica is just 6km away by car. This pretty town has plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants which fill its cobbled streets and ancient piazzas. As the town has been settled since 700BC there is lots to see including the old quarter with its Ducal castle and art museum.
Also nearby is Ostuni which is 12.5km away. Ostuni is known as The White City and is a dazzling white-washed hill town which amazing views. If you wish to visit a beach then you will be spoiled for choice as there are a wealth of stunning beaches within easy reach such as Torre Pozzelle a sandy beach 25km from the villa.

Wonderful time
We were staying at Trullo Mendula with a group of 12 people and had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful, furnished with lots of attention to detail and in a very traditional style that fits the area. All rooms (except the traditional one right beneath the Trullo style roof) come equipped with AC, which we did not need in early September as the thick walls kept the inside cool even during hotter days. Washer/dryer are available and the kitchen has everything you need to cook at home. Or, you can choose one of the great restaurants in the towns nearby that Adam provided a full list of before our stay. We really enjoyed our holidays and would gladly return! Be aware though that the WIFI is rather slow, which makes streaming or working remotely difficult.

A wonderful week
We just returned from a wonderful week at Trullo Mendula. It is beautiful, comfortable and private, while being close to Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica for restaurants, groceries, etc..

Truly memorable stay
Stunning house in beautiful surroundings. There were 11 of us with kids and extended family and we loved the pool and range of indoor and outdoor areas to spread out. Lovely large outdoor dining area in the shade. A car is needed to reach the local towns which were a short drive away for shopping, restaurants etc. We loved the local restaurant "Antimo". Thanks for a fabulous and truly memorable stay!

An absolute gem
We are just back from a recent family holiday staying at the lovely Trullo Mendula and had the most amazing time. We were 3 families with 5 children and all fitted in perfectly. The children absolutely loved the pool area and exploring the garden, the outdoor space was just perfect for everyone. Trullo Mendula is an absolute gem and cannot recommend enough. The management team on the ground couldn't have been more helpful and kind. Their recommendations were spot on.

Amazing house
Amazing house set in the countryside of Puglia. Beautifully designed and so very relaxing and quiet. Lovely re-freshing swimming pool! Close by to the town of Ceglie Messapica which we adored. Great restaurants and old town. Can’t wait to return. Thanks!

Perfect for a family holiday
Amazing Trullo. Perfect for a family holiday. Fantastic grounds with all needs catered for. Location is secluded but close enough to Ostuni & Ceglie should you wish to go out for food/sight seeing. Will definitely use again if we go back Puglia.

Perfect place
We had a very relaxing time at Trullo Mendula last September. It’s the perfect place to get away from it all. So quiet and private. Loved it!

Fell in love
Trullo Mendula is perfect, set in between Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica, hidden down charming roads, it provides perfect isolation while in fact being a short drive from amazing restaurants and the joys of simply wandering the ancient streets. The accommodation is great, a fantastic pool, well-equipped kitchen, plenty of room, and comfortable beds. And the sunsets… My family just fell in love with it all."
