About the surrounding area of Villa CenateVilla Cenate is perfectly positioned just outside Melissano, offering excellent road connections to Gallipoli in the north and Santa Maria di Leuca in the south.
Melissano (1.5km) is a charming town in southern Salento, known for its Byzantine-era historical center and renowned Puglian wines. It boasts excellent restaurants serving traditional cuisine in a picturesque old quarter. Nearby Taviano (4km) is famous for its olive groves, vineyards, and flower production, with a rich history and popular local dining spots.
The villa is just 8km from the Ionian coast. Torre Suda offers crystal-clear waters and a rocky shoreline, ideal for snorkelling and swimming. Further north, Baia Verde’s sandy beaches feature shallow waters perfect for families, as well as a vibrant nightlife scene. To the south, Marina di Pescoluse is often compared to the Maldives, with white sands and turquoise waters.
Across Salento, visitors can discover a mix of rocky coves and long sandy stretches, many with beach clubs offering sunbeds, parasols, and waterfront dining.
Gallipoli (17km) is a must-visit, with its historic sites, bustling market, and fantastic seafood restaurants. Lecce (55km) offers impressive baroque architecture, excellent shopping, and fascinating ruins. Other charming destinations include Specchia (22km), considered one of Italy’s prettiest towns, as well as the historic streets of Muro Leccese and Maglie, both around 30 minutes away.

Best Suited For: All AgesThere are some wonderful beaches in the area for all ages. The nearest beach at Torre Suda has rocky coves and crystal-clear waters which are perfect for snorkelling or if you are looking for white sandy beaches and gentle shelving waters then head to the famous and beautiful Baia Verde, just fifteen minutes away by car. Also, to the south, Marina di Pescoluse is a lovely place for families to spend the day.
Many of the beaches offer sun-beds, umbrellas and restaurants where families are always welcome as well as pedalos and other watersports. Kids may also enjoy watching the boats in the marina in Santa Maria di Leuca or taking a boat trip to see the stunning caves around the southern coastline.
For a fun day out, the kids will absolutely adore Splash Parco Acquatico (20km) where you will find swimming pools for all ages, waterslides and themed waterfalls. It’s known to be one of the best waterparks in southern Italy.

Great villa in Salento
The property looks pretty new and well maintained. All the services mentioned were there and properly working. The property manager was promptly available to assist and to properly answer doubts and questions. The villa was clean and the garden was very well kept. Some unexpected facilities were also there for the kids making the stay even more enjoyable. We had a very good time there and it was a pity to leave the property after our stay.

A top villa! A splendid garden, a great pool and a spacious house! We had a lovely stay with our children and friends. However, we had to take the car to go out as there wasn't much nearby. We loved the town of Gallipoli.
