The quiet and yet convenient location of Apartment Carracci makes this the ideal spot for a longer city break, allowing you to explore the varied corners of this magnificent city. The apartment is nestled in a picturesque street in the bustling Flaminio district. Boasting an eclectic mixture of historical architecture and modern facilities, you’ll have plenty to do in your local area. Full of historical charm, the neighbourhood is named after the ancient Roman road, Via Flaminia, which runs through it.

Rome is synonymous with ancient history. Yet, what makes this neighbourhood in the first outskirt of the city so unique is its reputation for modern art. Art and history lovers alike will certainly fancy a day trip to the MAXXI. Also known as the National Museum of the 21st Century Arts, this is one of the most important contemporary art museums in Italy, and within walking distance of your apartment! This really is a notable landmark and displays some of the world’s most celebrated artists.

Sport enthusiasts will be excited by the Flaminio Stadium, a multipurpose sports arena that hosts many important sporting events. To get a glimpse of the city’s magnificent architecture, get your phone ready to take a stunning snap of the Ponte della Musica, a gorgeous bridge spanning the Tiber River. You are also only a 10-minute walk away from the Ponte Milvio, built in 115BC, and rich in important religious history. Nowadays, the bridge also makes an idyllic photo-taking spot for the lovebirds, as it is peppered with lovelocks.

For the foodies, you won’t be short of mouth-watering treats on every corner. The area boasts a trendy and varied food-scene, known for its exquisite sandwiches and divine array of gelato flavours. Bursting with welcoming restaurants and cafes, you can enjoy a hearty bite to eat and a cooling aperitivo before wandering back to your cosy apartment.

Venturing out of your local neighbourhood, you’ll find several amenities within easy reach, including public transport. While the Flaminio metro station is around a 30-minute walk away, there is a tram stop within walking distance; perfect for when you want to hop on and hop off! Well-connected to other parts of the city, easy access to public transport means you can prepare a jam-packed itinerary full of iconic tourist attractions, including Rome’s Colosseum and the world-renowned Vatican City. Sure to leave a lasting impression on any traveller, the Colosseum is an iconic symbol of Roman history and heritage, built almost 2000 years ago! Equally popular, the Vatican City houses St Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel, landmarks displaying astounding architecture and artwork.

Steeped in history, culture, and art, Rome is a must-see destination for anyone curious to explore the wonders of the ancient world. An absolute must to tick off the bucket-list, you’ll soon discover why Rome is known as the Eternal City. Not just for the history lovers, Rome has something for everyone, whether that’s food, sport of shopping. While you won’t be short of things to do during your stay at Apartment Carracci, your itinerary might allow you to accommodate a few visits further afield. Visit Tivoli, a picturesque hilltop town about 30km from Rome, or Ostia Antica, a preserved ancient Roman city that was once Rome’s port. It’s easy to get here by train, so you’ll have no need for a car.
