Script your stay when you holiday in Azteca Apartment, once the residence of a famous nineteenth-century actress and now a luxury home in the heart of central Rome. This architect-designed, third-floor apartment has three spacious double bedrooms and can comfortably accommodate up to six guests, ideal for a family vacation or a friendly get-together.

The ground floor entrance to Azteca Apartment has an impressive marble hallway which leads to an old-fashioned, wood and mirrored lift with built-in seating to whisk you up to your holiday home. Azteca Apartment is effortlessly elegant, with tall ceilings, double wooden doors, ornate tiled floors, sparkling chandeliers, glistening gilt mirrors, and classical art adorning the walls.

The apartment has all the mod cons, including complimentary air conditioning and Wi-Fi, a plasma television, a fully equipped kitchen, and brand-new bathrooms. A concierge team will be delighted to arrange airport transfers, babysitting, grocery deliveries, and exclusive experiences, including private chefs, late-night tours of the Vatican Museum, personal shopping services, and Vespa rides around Bella Roma.

Take the elevator to the third floor, where you will find a delightful, light, bright, and airy apartment. The large open-plan living space has a yellow and grey patterned tiled floor, a comfy L-shaped white sofa, a coffee table, and a flat-screen television. The six-seater dining set with a matching display cabinet is perfect for splendid indoor dining.

Go through the archway to an all-white, galley-style kitchen fully fitted with all the latest appliances you will need to cater for your holiday, including that must-have morning coffee maker. Three beautifully appointed double bedrooms lead off the hallway, all with hypoallergenic mattresses.

The master bedroom has an exquisite empire-style, dark wood queen size bed with a marble-topped gilded console and mirror, a desk-dressing table, shuttered windows, and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a queen size bed, and the third has two single beds. Open the big wooden doors to reveal an ultra-modern, shared family bathroom with a bathtub, separate glass-fronted, walk-in shower, a hand basin, bidet, and WC. A black and white tiled guest cloakroom completes the accommodation.

Azteca Apartment can be found between the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, nestled in the heart of central Rome, the capital city of Italy. The apartment is just fourteen kilometres from Rome's international Ciampino Airport, which can be reached either by taxi or a direct train ride. The central Roma Termini train station is five minutes to Spagna, the nearest metro station; hop into a cab, or pre-book a transfer with the concierge team. There is something for everyone to enjoy when you holiday in Rome - whether it's ancient history, architecture, renaissance art, culture, food, shopping, and fashion, or the simple joy of people watching, the Eternal City has got a lot.

Step outside the apartment, and within a short distance, you are sipping cappuccinos in the bustling square of Piazza Barberini; make a wish at the famous sculpted marble Trevi fountain, then take a walk to the impressive Spanish steps. Everywhere you go, there are ornate churches, rich with decorative icons, don't miss a visit to Santissima Trinita dei Monti, a Roman Catholic late Renaissance church perched above the Spanish Steps. Soak up the history of the city at The Pantheon, the Roman Forum, and the ancient Colosseum, all within walking distance.

No visit to Rome is complete without a meander through the Vatican Museum art collection to see Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling, the double helix staircase, and the stunning views from the rooftop terraces before a visit to the Basilica of St Peter. For some fine art, go to the nearby Borghese Gallery, set in a gorgeous garden, housing an incredible collection of Canova marble sculptures. On the stroll back, stop at Harry's Bar for a Bellini, then walk down the Spanish steps and visit the Romantic poet Keat's house before enjoying English muffins at the famous Babington's Tea Rooms, which has been there since 1893.

Saunter down the oh-so-very fabulous Via dei Condotti and window shop for world-famous designer-label fashion and exquisite hand-crafted leather handbags. Go to the outskirts of the city and cross the Old Appian Way to discover the hidden treasures of the catacombs. If you fancy a day trip out of Rome, the pretty town of Tivoli is only thirty kilometres away, where you can visit Hadrian's Villa and the exquisite Villa D'Este.

During the day, dine on freshly made pasta, pizza, and homemade ice cream, eat alfresco in one of the many squares, and sit back and watch as the world and the beautiful people pass by. In the evening, make your way to the foodie heaven of Trastevere, and taste the delights of traditional Italian cooking, just like Nonna used to make, in one of its many taverna-style restaurants.

There’s so much for your kids to do and see when you vacation in Rome. First stop, take the family to the must-see Colosseum, manned by actors dressed as Roman soldiers, where they can explore the magnificent Flavian amphitheatre, the maze of tunnels which housed the animals, and imprisoned the gladiators.

Older children visiting the Gruppo Storica Roma can learn to be a gladiator, don a tunic and sword, and immerse themselves in the history of ancient Rome.
Take a walk to the Spanish steps, march them down to Keats House and Babington’s Tea Rooms, march them back up again to the ornate Renaissance church and admire the stunning views over the city.

Younger ones will love an afternoon at the Techno di Pulcinelia al Gianicolo, an open-air puppet theatre, or the San Carlino, where the puppets and musicians interact with the children. Row a boat or ride a bike through the nearby beautiful Borghese Gardens.

Take a trip to the Bioparco Roma, where a toy train, a mini zoo, a children’s playground, and pony rides through the gardens. Take them on a tour of the Vatican Museum, show them the Sistine Chapel and the beauty of St Peter’s Basilica. Marvel at the three-metre hole in the roof of the two-thousand-year-old Pantheon, designed to shine a light on the Emperor at noon on the 21st of April, the date the Roman Empire was founded. Throw coins in the Trevi Fountain and make a wish.

At night, all aboard an Illuminated Rome Tour for Kids, pizza and gelato included. Eat ice cream of every colour, most especially the blue bubble-gum-flavoured one.
