• When did you become the owner?
We bought the property in 2015 and spent the next two years renovating it to the highest standards using local skilled tradesmen. We started to rent the property in the summer of 2017.
• What was it about the property that you first fell in love with?
The position – from the villa you can see Corsica to the North across the Gulf of Asinara and West unlimited sea until you reach the Balearic Islands in Spain. It is set on a clifftop with unparalleled views over the local countryside which is a protected landscape full of wildlife and rare birds. It was unique in that construction of property in this area is no longer permitted and the opportunity to acquire and renovate an old barn was just too attractive to miss.
• Are there any interesting stories in its history?
The area where the villa sits was home to an ancient civilisation called the Nuraghes which occupied this area of Sardinia about 1500 BC. There is an ancient dolmen (huge burial stone) at the foot of our lane overlooking the sea. There is also a cave within 200 meters of the villa complete with a stone carved sleeping platform. Obsidian (black volcanic glass type rock) fragments have been found nearby.
• Have you ever had any famous guests staying?
We were featured in the Sun newspaper in 2017 – their online editor Keith Poole stayed with us and did an article about his experience.
• For anyone coming to stay, is there anything you suggest that they really…-
- Must do?
Go snorkelling in the crystal clear waters around the coast – it is a real treat and only then can you truly appreciate how beautiful the local sea is.
- Must eat?
At least one hand made gelato (ice cream) and maybe taste the Sardinian specialty of roasted suckling pig. This is a cultural delight and obviously needs to be washed down with a glass of Cannonau red wine.
- Must see?
La Pelosa Beach – as close to the Maldives as you can get without actually going to the Maldives. It is stunning.
• What insider tip would you pass on about the property or the area?
Plan you days out carefully, there is so much to do and see that it is easy to get carried away and spend so much time visiting places that you forget to have a break and just chill by the pool or on the roof terrace and watch the sun do its stuff as it slips into the sea.

Relax and enjoy nature
The accommodation is as described in the listing and can be seen in the pictures. The house has enough space for 4 adults and 5 children (we were two families and had plenty of room). The location is perfect for those looking for a quiet place during the holidays. Here you can really relax and enjoy nature. The communication with the host was guaranteed at all times and we were welcomed in person at the beginning.

Modern and spacious
Modern and spacious house with a nice view outside. The place was clean and very well equipped. A large garden and a nice pool outside. The hosts shared a lot of good suggestions about Sardinia (sights, beaches, restaurants etc). Wonderful host!

Fantastic!
This place is fantastic! It is perfectly set up for children and families to have a brilliant holiday with everything you need! The accommodation is perfect, spacious and well thought out and the outdoor areas are all fantastic! Would highly recommend and will hopefully be back!

Pure relaxation!
Pure relaxation! In a very quiet area near Stintino you will find this jewel of a house with a great roof terrace and a wonderful sea view with the most beautiful sunsets. The kitchen offers everything to use local products, the rooms are large and all have air conditioning. The pool invites you to splash around and the big swing with beautiful oleander rounds off the holiday feeling. The approach is a bit difficult, as the natural stone floor was very likely washed out by the water and a very bumpy path was created. It is advisable not to start this trip with the most beautiful car. But it is definitely worth it to spend your vacation in this house!
-
Perfect location
The owners are very caring hosts. They house is spotless and the location in the hill is perfect. If you want to be away from the crowds, in quality house that has everything and have a nice walks on the cliffs to enjoy the nature - it’s a place to be. The kitchen is well equipped, the garden barbeque works excellent and the whole house spotless!
