A villa that looks almost untouched by time, filled with gorgeous original wood features with an alluring Italian country cottage charm, you will not want to leave this place after your first blissful night at Villa Lovere, just off the eastern slopes of Mount Etna.
Originally built as wine-producing Palmento with black lava stone basins, the villa boasts a rich cultural history and a sense of old Italia. There are traditional tiled floors and hand carved wood ceiling beams throughout, touches of the past sprinkled here and there giving this villa an old-school charm like no other.
Though this property oozes old-school Italian country charm, the living, dining and kitchen area is open plan, giving you and your group or family the modern luxury of communal spaces without rigid walls and doorways. This area features stone floors and a handcrafted kitchen with intricate tile patterns and painted ceramic plates on the walls, along with a gorgeous granite farmhouse style sink, plus a deep stone fireplace, perfect for cosying around during the evenings.
There are three double bedrooms, each one featuring wood ceiling beams and lots of natural light. With two beautifully finished shower rooms, afternoons spent pampering and indulging in long showers are on the cards. There’s even a second, smaller kitchen that’s been finished in a cheery bright yellow in a part of the villa that offers privacy away from the rest of the space.
The outside area is perfect for entertaining and hosting others, or just to be enjoyed as a family or small group of friends, with stone steps leading down to a pool that seems as if it’s just been embedded into the hillside, offering uninterrupted views of the surrounding plant life and hilly landscapes. There are two outdoor covered terraces with tables and chairs for alfresco dining, along with a further outdoor dining area in the garden, a children’s outdoor play area, plus deck chairs and sunbeds for unwinding in the sun and being inspired by the surrounding heavenly views.
The garden features a plethora of greenery and foliage, as well as old-style stone walls that allude to the villa’s history. Private parking is available, as is WiFi and air conditioning.

Outstanding
Staying at this villa and cottage felt like a privilege to experience history! The owners have done an outstanding job of preserving the history/antiquity of this property, while incorporating all the modern conveniences one could need on holiday. The villa is located in a very quiet and relaxing area, but it is extremely easy to drive to Taormina, Mt. Etna, Siracusa, etc. The drive times were short from this property. We found it easy to obtain groceries from the stores in Trecastagni just minutes away and found everything we needed to cook. The villas were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The pool is a wonderful reprieve at the end of the day. Most importantly, the management of this Villa is outstanding with excellent communication available at all times. We could not have asked for a more pleasant experience!

Out of a fairy tale
This villa is like out of a fairytale. The grounds are vast, it feels very private, the pool is the best we ever experienced and we loved the view. Both houses are comfortable with many Sicilian details. Everything was perfect. Wish we could stay longer!

Fantastic view
The house manager has been very friendly and always available. They also took excellent care of our needs. The tips on site about shopping and directions were great. The view, from the house is fantastic, we enjoyed our stay very much.

Wonderful
We visited Sicily by the end of August. The house and the garden is wonderful and we (in total 6 adults) totally enjoyed our time here. From the pool you have a great view over cantania and the sea. The house is well equipped and the host was very kind. They gave us great tips and answered within a short time. Thanks a lot for your great hospitality!

Beautiful and unique property
We had a very nice stay in Villa Lovere. The property manager waited for us until very late and guided us to the well hidden house. The old mill has been restored and decorated with much taste, it is really a beautiful and unique property. The kitchen is well equipped. Terrace, garden and pool area are wonderful, with a view of the sea and the whole area north of Catania. In October it gets a bit chilly in the evening and the pool is really refreshing... The location is very quiet but a bit outside of town, you really need a car to get around, then it's only a 5 min drive to Trecastagni. All in all, we would certainly recommend staying here, both for families or a group of friends!

Fabulous stay!
Villa Lovere is a wonderful place to relax with great views and a lovely pool. It's great to share with friends as there are two houses on the property surrounded by vinyards. There's a great small town nearby and Catania is an easy drive. We recommend Villa Lovere.
