Overview
Surrounded by gorgeous gardens, oaks and chestnut trees, Bosco Ai Frati offers the ideal scenery to enjoy a Tuscan glass of wine whilst lounging in a shaded sitting area. Enchanting outdoor spaces wrap their way around this beautifully renovated Tuscan farmhouse. Be it the careful balance of character features and modern facilities or the secluded countryside setting; there is an air of complete relaxation that shrouds the entire property.
Spread over three floors, the villa's interiors have been carefully restored, with terracotta floors, exposed beams and traditional decor, all highlighted in the bright, generously sized rooms. There are six bedrooms, accommodating twelve guests, with spacious living areas where you can enjoy time together.
On the villa’s ground floor, you will find a fully equipped kitchen, social dining room and spacious living room. The kitchen opens out to an al-fresco dining space, elegantly incorporating the interior and exterior spaces. The central marble table in the kitchen offers space to enjoy a handful of in-house cooking experiences with a private chef. Or why not partake in a cooking class, pasta-making and ancient grain bread-making classes, for example. With a wine cooler in the pantry, refreshments are always on hand, making your stay in Tuscany as special as you could imagine. As you walk through the living room, the villa's traditional architecture becomes evident, with exposed beams, terracotta tiles and a huge fireplace. With the doors open, sunlight bounces around the room, and you can curl up on the sofas, reading a book or switching on the TV, awarding yourself a well-deserved rest! There is also a recreation room with a full-size pool table, perfect for some fun and games with your loved ones.
There are five bedrooms on the first floor, with a sixth double bedroom located on the lower ground floor accessed via the courtyard. Lovingly furnished, the bedrooms have everything you need to enjoy a comfortable stay, with glorious countryside views and air conditioning. There are four en-suite bathrooms and one bathroom for the remaining rooms to share. The first floor also has another living room with a cosy open fireplace and space to rest and restore.
Outside there are many charming spots in which to relax. Whether you are gathered around the dining table, sharing a bottle of chilled wine on the covered terrace by the pool, or enjoying a moment of calm as you read a book in the garden, every corner offers another idyllic hideaway.
Bosco Ai Frati is the perfect blend of character and comfort and was once owned by the famous Medici family. The surrounding 1500-acre estate stretches across two valleys and is an organic farm and a certified white truffle hunting ground.
Florence is just 30km away, so it is a must-visit during your stay. There is plenty to do and see here, so you could visit this glorious city several times. Or if you fancy a quieter day trip, head to Fiesole just outside of Florence. Unknown by many, this small town hides a wealth of surprises: the massive stones that make up the Etruscan walls, the remains of Roman baths, and the Roman amphitheatre that still serves as a stage for summer events. The small city centre is home to a wide range of historical sites, churches and parks where visitors can spend some time escaping from the hustle and bustle of Florence.
Please note that Bosco Ai Frati is actually located in the region of Tuscany but is very close to the Chianti border.

Four acres of vibrant gardens surround the villa, planted with centuries-old oaks and chestnut trees, Mediterranean flowers and aromatic shrubs. Bordering the villa grounds, the estate boasts acres of Sunflower filled landscapes, painting the Schifanoia valley in yellow.
Florence has a vast range of eateries to suit all tastes, and whether you fancy fine dining, street food or a traditional meal in a rustic trattoria, you can find it all close by. The streets also have atmospheric bars where you can sit al-fresco and chat the night away over a glass of local wine or a cocktail. Or perhaps you have more of a sweet tooth and would love to wander the pretty streets while enjoying gelato.
Known for its Renaissance art and architecture, it will come as no surprise that the city of Florence is filled with the most impressive palaces, churches, museums and art galleries. There are so many that it is difficult to fit everything into one visit, so head out early to beat the queues if you are planning on a busy itinerary. Some key attractions are The Uffizi Gallery, Michelangelo’s statue of David, located in the incredible Galleria dell’Accademia and the former Medici palaces, The Palazzo Vecchio and The Palazzo Pitti. Siena, Pienza, Chianti, Lucca and Pisa are all conveniently reachable in under two hours drive from the villa, so you can link your trip with another city or take a day trip to one or two of these beautiful places.

Region
Tuscany, located in the heart of Italy, is a region that encapsulates the very essence of the country's rich cultural heritage and stunning natural beauty. Known for its rolling hills, picturesque vineyards, and historic cities, Tuscany is a destination that beckons to travellers seeking an authentic Italian experience.
Chill next to your pool and fire up the barbeque or head into Tuscany’s cultural centres and nourish your mind – this is one destination that really does have a little bit of everything for everyone, whether you’re travelling with family, friends or are just looking for a romantic getaway with that special someone.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesWith acres of gardens and a private swimming pool, this charming holiday home is a brilliant place to visit for families with children. There is a recreation room with a full-size pool table that older children will love and a second cosy living area on the first floor that can become a den for your little ones to make their own. Fully staffed, Bosco Ai Frati offers a holiday for everyone in the family, with prepared breakfasts and an in-house chef that can guide you all through how to make fresh pasta, pizza and bread – something that will delight kids and adults alike.
Just a thirty-minute drive from the villa, Florence is a beautiful place to visit with slightly older children who can learn so much from the historical sights and artworks and enjoy the sophistication of dining al-fresco in a pretty piazza.
For families with younger children, we recommend exploring the city by horse and carriage ride with a knowledgeable driver. You can all sit back and relax as the kids learn about the local monuments and enjoy travelling by carriage through the ancient streets; you might even learn something new yourselves.
The creativity of Leonardo Davinci and his feats of engineering are on display throughout the city for children to discover. This makes the Leonardo Da Vinci Museum great for a family day out. At the museum, you can see reproductions of dozens of Da Vinci’s machines, like his flying machines and early versions of tanks. Children are allowed to touch everything at the museum, and workshops are held to teach more to curious young scientists!

One of the best experiences we have had
The whole family came and we all loved it. The privacy, the beautiful grounds, the pool, many bedrooms with bathrooms for each of us, the fantastic breakfasts cooked every morning by Rita... This was a dream vacation location. Federica who was our contact and checked us in and out was a wealth of information and helped us with activities and questions. Such nice people that took care of us. The house is just beautiful and comfortable and very clean. The small towns nearby were fun to explore and we met the nicest people who run the businesses. We would stay here again and again. Our daughter asked if she could have her wedding here. Highly recommended.

Great attention to detail
My husband and I stayed at Bosco Ai Frati for two weeks in July. We selected this house because we were looking for a villa with daily housekeeping close to Florence. The villa is so beautiful with such a great attention to details. Beautiful large outdoor pool. Great service and food. We also liked all the activities available. We ended up doing the Truffle Hunting Tour and the visit to Bosco ai Frati. Everything was great and we would definitely go back.

This Villa was spectacular
It was impressively restored and immaculately clean. We had a lovely time and the breakfast provided was outstanding. I would love to return.
-

10/10 Would recommend
My family and I stayed in one of the lovely apartments. The hosts were very friendly and extremely responsive, as well very flexible and accommodating with the check-in and check-out. The apartment exceeded our expectations. Overall a great apartment in a beautiful area with lots to see and great restaurants close by.

Everything was super! You can feel like at home

Fabulous villa
This is a beautiful villa within distance of Florence, Siena and Lucca. The setting is delightful and we arranged to watch some truffle hunting whilst we were there. A bonus for us as one of the dogs was a Hungarian vizsla as well as a Lagotto Romagnolo. Everything was to a high standard and they couldn’t do enough for us. We paid for a chef to come in and cook a few meals for us which was excellent. All the staff were delightful and very professional. We highly recommend it and hope we have the opportunity to go back.

The best way to vacation in Northern Tuscany
If you truly want to understand food, culture and living in northern Tuscany, Bosco Ai Frati is where you begin. The villa had all of the character, amenities, views and service to make your stay truly unique within this region. Dinners in the villa were exceptional and worth the experience. We mixed our travel between visiting amazing local towns and restaurants that you would never find online to day trips to Florence, Venice and Siena, all within easy driving distance of the villa. Very happy to have had this experience with my family.

This place feels authentic. I would definitely go back.
I spent a week here in May of 2022 with my family and two young kids and had a wonderful time staying at Bosco Ai Frati. The farmhouse has been renovated to a level you don't often find in rental homes. Bedrooms and bathrooms are beautiful and very comfortable. The daily maid service was excellent as the kitchen, pool and bedrooms were always clean and organized. Breakfast buffet was also very good. We booked the villa with a three dinners package which was nice so we didn't have to worry about cooking or going out all the time. Chef's Marta was great and always went the extra mile to make sure we were having a good time. She was even able to prepare some dishes for the kids. This place feels authentic. I would definitely go back.

Truly a magical place in Tuscany
Truly a magical place in Tuscany, and an amazing vacation from every aspect! We will most definitely return. Authentically, quintessential Tuscany. The food, the fabulous chef, the views, and conveniently located just a 40 minutes drive from Florence. We couldn’t have picked a better spot. Staying in this fabulously renovated Tuscan Villa complete with luxury furnishings made us feel as if in a home away from home.

Experience of a lifetime
We spent 3 weeks at the villa and had the experience of a lifetime there. We were a large group with several small children and they did so much to make the house kid friendly for us. The views from backyard are breathtaking and the whole property is exactly what you would imagine when you picture a Tuscan villa. The villa felt secluded yet was only a 5 minute drive to a nice town with great restaurants and gelato. You are also less than an hours drive to Florence and 1-2 hours away from several cities in Tuscany such as Livorno and Pisa, so day trips are a breeze to plan and enjoy.
The staff were fantastic, especially our private chef Marta who was absolutely smashing. Her food was delicious and she was very accommodating to several specific diets including a vegetarian, a diabetic, and 4 small kids. The house was kept clean and there was no request too small for us to make that wasn't immediately addressed. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great way to enjoy a summer in Tuscany!
