Il Sensale can be described as nothing less than majestic! This imperial home nonetheless retains an original farmhouse feel. It is set within a beautiful location and offers a stylish idyll overlooking rolling acres of Renaissance landscapes.
This elegant, independent home imbibes all the natural beauty of the region, along with its original rustic charm: farmhouse-style terracotta sloping tiled roofs, arches, pale olive-coloured shutters, swaying poplar trees, and views across olive groves and vineyards make this home every inch the tranquil yet tasteful haven it is.
The outdoor spaces are sumptuous. They include immaculate lawns and gardens, ideal for games and fun, and wonderful poolside privacy through a patio and lounging space.
Recently restored, Villa Il Sensale combines the rustic farmhouse theme with unadulterated luxury. The main villa and guesthouse have six bedrooms, accommodating up to twelve guests. This home is ideal for those seeking a real retreat from the bustle of the crowds and stresses of the modern world—the entire lower ground floor is set up as a self-contained spa!
Dining al fresco is a stylish affair, with the beautiful veranda soaking up the fragrant breezes, whether it be breakfast after a swim in the dappled shade or an evening meal with abundant local wines and Tuscan produce as the sun softens over the hills.
The interiors combine original, rustic farmhouse charm with sleek, contemporary fittings. Every detail has been thoughtfully covered for a truly glamorous stay: from billiards room to bar, from private television lounge to games room - guests will find it hard to venture out.
The living space is well proportioned, offering exposed timber beams, beautiful antique furnishings and lighting, along with luminous views of the surrounding countryside. The living room is comfortable yet cosy, while the dining space offers a stunning, light, monochrome room ideal for colourful and vibrant group meals.
What you should know…
- Set in a rural location, yet close to so much history and culture, not to mention markets, shops and beaches, a vehicle is a must!
- Walking distance to a village however please note that some parts of the route do not have pavements.

The region is known for its rich culinary heritage, including truffles, cured meats and traditional sweets and pastries. Florence and Siena are a both no more than an hour’s drive from the villa.
Close to the main cities in Tuscany know for their artistic heritage: Pietrasanta, famous for art galleries and an excellent array of restaurants, this area of Northern Tuscany is rich with culture and history: archaeological sites, national parks, castles, mountain trails and open-air theatre, guests will have ample options to choose from.

For day trips, among the highlights for children in Tuscany, Pinocchio Park Collodi is a great day out - Collodi is home to a theme park dedicated to Pinocchi and his adventures, with activities like literary itineraries, buildings and sculptures set amidst the greenery, art exhibitions and illustrations, puppet making workshops and more.
Pistoia Zoo is located in the hills near Pistoia and is one of the most famous zoos in Italy, covering a space of seven hectares and an array of species for a fun and educational day out.
