  • Absolutely enchanted

    on 09/06/2024

We recently stayed at Villa Marciano and were absolutely enchanted by the experience. The hosts have created a legacy with their heartfelt attention to every detail, offering both relaxation and entertainment in a magical setting.
Location and Access: Villa Marciano is perfectly located a short drive from Florence airport, offering a tranquil retreat in the picturesque countryside. The drive offers beautiful scenic views and even a glimpse of the famous Antinori winery.
Accommodations and Amenities: The villa itself combines luxury with comfort seamlessly. My room, conveniently situated above the spa, included a mini-fridge and Nespresso machine, making my stay exceptionally comfortable. The villa's amenities, from the beautiful lap pool to the charming onsite chickens, added a unique and homely touch.
Activities and Experiences: A highlight of our stay was the range of activities curated by Franchi, the Director of Fun. His charisma and passion for fun enhanced our stay with memorable experiences like wine tastings, pasta classes, and poolside yoga. The evening fireside chats provided cozy moments of engaging conversation.
Overall Experience: Our visit was a wonderful mix of leisure and activity, thanks to the exceptional service and warm hospitality. The villa’s stunning location and the thoughtfully crafted itinerary allowed us to fully enjoy and appreciate the beauty of Villa Marciano.
Recommendations: I highly recommend Villa Marciano for anyone looking for a comprehensive experience that includes luxury accommodations, diverse activities, and easy access to the best of Tuscany. It’s an ideal choice for those looking to explore local culture and landscapes while enjoying a high standard of service and hospitality.

  • Absolutely spectacular

    on 09/04/2024

Villa Marciano is absolutely spectacular. I could not have asked for a better escape from my hectic urban life. The Villa is set in a gorgeous landscape of lush, rolling hills covered with vineyards, many wines of which are part of the Villa's collection! The owners have taken great care to create a home away from home that is luxurious but not pretentious. The Villa is warm, inviting and cozy, with attention paid to even the tiniest details - from soft, fluffy towels, robes, and slippers to more modern conveniences like USB ports and blue tooth connectivity. It's country living in the 21st century!
I very quickly fell into the relaxed rhythm of the countryside, enjoying long, leisurely lunches with new friends and taking walks around the beautiful grounds. I particularly enjoyed my morning espresso followed by a visit to the chicken coop to gather the eggs and feed the chickens while being closely observed by Cosimo, the rooster. There are lots of garden beds with fresh herbs and veggies and the kitchen is stocked with every tool a chef could want. If you enjoy cooking, this is your mecca. Or if you just want to enjoy a glass of wine out on the terrace or by the pool overlooking the Tuscan valley, well, that is a given.
While it's tempting to stay ensconced at the Villa (every day can be a spa day!), you can also explore nearby towns that are a short drive away. I especially enjoyed Castellina in Chianti and San Gimignano, a medieval town that is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It also boasts a 2-star Michelin restaurant, San Martino, which I highly recommend. Florence is an easy drive or train ride away for a day trip.
I would also be remiss if I didn't mention the attentive and delightful villa manager. He is your ambassador for all things Tuscan and will take you in like a long-lost friend.
One last aspect of this unique home that must be noted is its authenticity. Everything, from the furniture to the art to the dishes, has been carefully curated and locally sourced. Local artists' paintings adorn the walls. The dishes, cups, saucers were designed and created by a local ceramic artist. Chris and Stephen aren't just flyover owners - they are a part of the community and are proud to support it. Stay a week at Villa Marciano and you'll feel a part of this friendly community too.

  • A truly magical, tranquil, gorgeous getaway

    on 09/11/2023

Villa Marciano is everything that you could dream of in a Tuscan getaway. The owners have put their hearts and souls into Villa Marciano to make it authentic and beautiful. When you arrive at Villa Marciano, it is very much like a scene from a romance movie, preserved to look and feel like an old Italian villa, but with all the amenities of a modern resort.
The outdoor infinity pool is complete with a bar, shaded lounge chairs, and comfortable, yet classy, patio furniture. The pool is always the perfect temperature and there are stairs and seating in the pool so you can sit, float or swim. There’s even an outdoor shower so that you can rinse off after your swim.
The spa includes a sauna, a steam room, and a jacuzzi. All 3 are luxurious and stunning to look at, wait until you try them! Towels and comfortable seating are available in the spa as well as a spacious rain shower.
Villa Marciano is equipped to host special events, with various indoor and elegant outdoor dining areas. If you plan to stay at Villa Marciano with a group there are private areas to recharge.
My bedroom had its own bathroom with a bathtub and shower, double sink, and patio. I felt like royalty sleeping on the king sized bed made with the best linens. The morning shower was full blast and amazing. I don’t know how they get the hot water there but it never ran cold.
You’ll notice charming details like the door handles and locks, bidets(and toilets), restored wooden doors and ceilings, stone pathways, lemon and olive trees, and grape vines. Then, you’ll find resort amenities just like in a hotel, like outlets next to the beds, bathrooms and showers inside the bedrooms with toiletries and bathrobes, water glasses, and a few steps away, an easy to operate espresso machine in the kitchen. It was easy to connect my phone to the bluetooth speaker system so that I could listen to my own Spotify account in almost every common room, including the outdoor patio and even the pool!
The wine cellar is not a cellar at all, but a temperature controlled room of wines and any libations that weren’t in the bar. The kitchen pantry was stocked with snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, more than enough to keep you satisfied until your next meal.
Take a short 10 minute drive from Villa Marciano you’ll find yourself in Castellina in Chianti, a quaint, beautiful town where you can spend an hour or the whole day exploring the local shops, gorgeous views of the Tuscan countryside, drinking wine, eating gelato, or dining at one of the many indoor/outdoor cafes. Don’t miss the artisan shops and restaurants hidden from the main streets, accessible by a stairway that leads to a large brick underground tunnel.
Finally, the staff of Villa Marciano are the most wonderful, kind, and accommodating people you will ever meet. There is no waiting to check in and no crabby front desk clerk. Villa Marciano’s host is a man who was truly in his element. He will make you feel special, give you a tour of the entire property, make sure you have everything you need, and answer any questions you have at any time during your stay. He is the most genuine person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting in hospitality service. He enjoys his job and you can tell that he wants to make sure you have the best visit possible. The cleaning staff are efficient, quiet, polite, and friendly as well. The entire property was cleaned daily and kept immaculate and no matter how many times I swam, the next day there was always a rolled, fluffy towel on every pool lounge chair.
It is truly magical, tranquil, gorgeous getaway. If you are looking for a place that you will never forget, you will not be disappointed by Villa Marciano. It is an enchanting getaway where memories are sure to be made.

  • Perfect place

    on 09/09/2023

This was the perfect place to celebrate my 50th birthday! We filled the house with friends and family, all of which kept pinching themselves at how we were surrounded by beauty everywhere. This place was the most beautiful Tuscan villa that looks over the countryside. You can see the Tuscan valley all the way too San Gimignano while having a morning coffee on the terrace (or an apertivo at sunset.)
The home had all of our American luxury amenities and was very elegant, yet it felt like a home. So warm, welcoming and cozy. Not like a stuffy hotel, but a place you could truly relax, with all the luxury one would expect. The beds, sheets, and towels were divine. -something I’m picky about, I admit. Because it’s close to a lot of the Tuscan towns, we easily ventured out every day and often went to Florence to shop! The location was great for wine tastings nearby and the decadent wine in the wine room was a delicious selection! I love to cook, so I really enjoyed the kitchen as well! I appreciated the fresh eggs and garden. Thank you to the Villa Marciano team for making my birthday wishes come true! I cannot wait to return! Grazie Mille!
