Situated in a beautiful spot in the heart of the old hilltop town of Spello, Villa Giardiniera is only five minutes walk to the main square of Piazza della Repubblica, where you'll find a huge range of shops, bars and fantastic restaurants.
There's an abundance of outdoor activities to enjoy in the area (including fishing, hiking and trekking) all found conveniently near to the beautiful hill towns of Umbria. Explore fantastic towns and landscapes around Spoleto, Perugia, Montefalco, Gubbio, Città di Castello, Orvieto and Todi, as well as Assisi, the jewel in Umbria's crown, which is a mere 5km away from Spello!
Lounging in the wonderful garden spaces, taking up your time enjoying resting, reading and dining, is one of the greatest holiday pleasures - especially after a long day making the most of exploring wonderful Umbria!
Villa Giardiniera provides the perfect setting, with the garden specifically designed and planted to allow plenty of space to lie in the sun as it moves from east to west, or to recline in the shade on a day bed. The breathtaking view overlooks the Chiona valley, and thanks to the property's location traffic and noise are distant memories - the only thing before you is the Italian landscape at its very best.
What you should know…
- Larger parties travelling together may also book the equally gorgeous Villa Buona (sleeps 6), La Casetta (sleeps 2-3) and La Camerata (sleeps 2) are also virtually next door.
- Bedrooms are on different levels with separate entrances and not adjoining, hence may not be ideal for guests with small children.
- The pool is quite compact (3m x 6m) as the property is found in the historic centre where pool sizes are limited accordingly.
- There's no parking in front of the house (but it's only a three minute walk away).
- Please note that the use of any external caterers and/or contractors is not permitted.

Perfect summer!
Casa Giardino is the most charming villa we have rented so far. We loved everything, the decoration, the location, the views and last but not least the garden and pool.
We are in love with every single room - so well decorated and so quiet.
Spello is beautiful and we loved discover the many little shops and trattorias. The food is excellent and compared to Tuscany much cheaper.
It is our first time in Umbria and we will definitely come back, this region has so much to offer and Spello is still unspoiled and the most beautiful village.
We loved also the flea market in Pissignano (1st Sunday every month) and our days trips to Montefalco, Bevagna, Spoleto, Assisi and Perugia. -
A hidden gem in the center of Spello!
Such a wonderful house with incredible views, a wonderful little garden and a small pool to cool off.
Spello is charming and we will be back soon. -
Truly amazing!
We stayed at Casa Giardiniera for a week in July. The location of this house is almost it’s everything - I say almost because the house itself and the view are pretty hard to beat. Although in the centre of Spello, and a few minutes walk to many excellent restaurants, Gelaterias and a small but well stocked supermarket, this house offers complete privacy and tranquility. The garden has stunning views of the Umbrian countryside and a small pool to cool off in the midday heat. The house is decorated in great taste and offers privacy to everyone. Each double bedroom with en-suite has its own private access. The living space and kitchen are pleasant spaces and are supplemented by outdoor living area. I cooked dinner on the one evening that we didn’t eat out and the kitchen was well stocked with all utensils that I needed and the space for eating for 6 was plentiful. There is also an extra toilet in addition to the en-suite bathrooms which we found handy to have. You do need to be prepared to get tour luggage up a steep hill to the house, as parking is a couple of minutes away, so make sure your bags are wheeled! Andrea, the owner, could not have been more helpful. Check in was easy and welcoming and she spent a considerable amount of time on the phone on out behalf sorting out a car hire issue that we had. Throughout our stay Andrea was on the end of the phone offering restaurant suggestions and advice on places to visit. Assisi is within 15 minutes drive and Spoleto 30 minutes away. There is a train station just outside the city walls that some of our party we used to take a train back to Rome Fiumicino Airport when going home. Spello is such a beautiful place and we found the novelty of not driving so persuasive that we stayed within the town for most of our trip.

Our own private oasis
we enjoyed very much ourselves in Umbria. Villa Giardiniera is perfect, it’s the first time have stayed within a hill town and we loved it. We are so close to the town and its restaurants and shops and yes the garden and pool are so quiet. We visited Perugia and Assisi but to be honest Spello is the most beautiful village in our opinion
