Bursting with luxurious features and high-end amenities, Apartment Amara is perfectly suited to the most discerning guests, promising a relaxing and memorable stay in the heart of Venice.
Upon entering through the private doorway on the campo, guests will discover the elegant entrance hall, lined with mirrored closets and cleverly concealing a Miele washing machine/dryer - an ideal addition for those enjoying an extended stay. From here you can take in the spacious and well-lit interior, featuring a fresh decor in neutral shades - including in the ground floor bedroom which has a double bed dressed in a beguiling palette of mushroom and olive, stylish mirrored wardrobes, and modern en-suite facilities with a shower and bathtub. Steps lead up to the first floor and to the main living room, which features a stunning sunset and lime decor with neutral accents, window-panelled mirrors and shell-shaped silk lamps. Here you’ll find a sumptuous corner sofa for sinking into at the end of a busy day, and access to a Juliet balcony. For extra space for larger parties, the apartment also features a charmingly beautiful sitting/TV room, resplendent in luxurious botanical prints, and featuring a double sofa bed and flatscreen TV, as well as offering access through stylish French doors to another Juliet balcony - it’s the perfect space for rest and relaxation, and for watching the world go by.
Apartment Amara’s kitchen/diner is also located on this floor, contemporary in style and well-equipped with high-end integrated appliances by Bosch and Miele, including a handy wine fridge, which you are sure to want to put to good use during your stay! The apartment’s elegant dining suite provides ample room for up to eight guests, with banquette seating and ‘ghost’ chairs, and French windows that open out onto a third Juliet balcony - it’s the perfect spot for enjoying family meals, or simply for enjoying the view, drinks and conversation with loved ones.
The first floor is also home to a spacious double bedroom, decorated in a stunning olive grey and featuring a handy writing desk, mirrored wardrobes and a soft and comfortable double bed. Guests staying in this room can enjoy palm-filled garden views, and have use of a modern tiled ensuite, with both a bathtub and a separate shower. Another separate bathroom with a large shower is also located on the first floor for extra convenience.
Two additional bedrooms are located on Apartment Amara’s second floor; a charming smaller double which features beamed ceilings, slim yet highly functional wardrobes and a French-size bed, bedecked in luscious Palampore fabric by Anna French. Just steps away is a private bathroom with a shower, for the ultimate haven of privacy and luxury. The apartment’s final bedroom is another spacious double, with a stunning purple artichoke and creamy mushroom decor, bespoke wardrobes, and an ensuite bathroom with both a bathtub and a shower.

Location
About the surrounding area of Apartment AmaraApartment Amara is situated in Dorsoduro, one of the six main sestieri in central Venice, and an area known for less tourist-footfall and cheaper prices. There is plenty to see and do here, with the Gallerie dell’Accademia being one of the most popular attractions. Created by Napoleon, the gallery houses some of Venice’s most important paintings and comprises three buildings which were once used for religious purposes before becoming part of the museum complex.
Italian food is famous around the world, and in addition to the classic pasta, pizza and gelato, Venice is also famous for its delicious seafood dishes. You’ll find plenty of stunning places to dine along the canal, as well as some gorgeously chic rooftop restaurants. Some of the best places to eat in the region can be found at the Peggy Guggenheim gallery, which houses work by some of the most influential American and European artists of the 20th century.
A trip to Venice wouldn’t be complete without a visit to one of the city’s beautiful palaces, and Ca Ressonico is a luxurious and sophisticated choice, featuring sumptuous rooms and frescoes, and delicate marble staircases that offer guests a delightful taste of what life was once like for the wealthy residents of Venice.
Oliver recommends taking a trip to nearby St. Mark’s Square during your stay, a more populated and cosmopolitan area of Venice that is rich in its own exciting and interesting attractions. One of the most famous piazzas in all of Italy, and which Napoleon once called the ‘drawing room of Europe’, this incredibly beautiful spot is an absolute must-see while you are in Venice, and it is here that you’ll find the famous St. Mark’s Basilica, the jewel of the square and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful churches you’ll ever see.
The basilica is full of stunning mosaics, relics of St. Mark himself, and perhaps most famous of all, the four bronze horses (that are actually made of copper!). Tours of the church interior are free of charge, but it is worth knowing that queues to enter this popular attraction can exceed 45 minutes at peak times, so Oliver recommends showing up early!

Region
Venice, a captivating city situated in the northeastern part of Italy, is a place like no other. Often referred to as the "City of Canals," Venice is renowned for its unique and mesmerising beauty. Built on a network of one-hundred-and-eighteen small islands connected by a labyrinth of canals, this enchanting city offers an array of attractions and experiences that make it a must-visit destination for travellers from around the world.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesFor families with children, Apartment Amara is a good choice, thanks to its spacious rooms and bedrooms that can be converted into twins. It is worth noting that the staircases could prove challenging for the little ones, but well-supervised and older children will enjoy the beauty and atmosphere of the apartment, which is complete with familiar home comforts such as satellite TV and WiFi.
Venice is a popular destination for families thanks to its pedestrianised streets, lack of cars, wide open spaces, and child-friendly cafes and restaurants, and there’s plenty here to see and do - the kids are sure to love a gondola ride!
It’s unsurprising that a city on water is going to pose some challenges to parents with young children, but Venice is very family-friendly and with a bit of forward-planning nothing is insurmountable. A great feature of Venice that appeals to parents is that it is car-free, with plenty of areas where the kids can roam freely and enjoy all of the attractions that this unique city has to offer. If you are visiting with very young children, Oliver recommends bringing a baby carrier rather than having to struggle on and off of water buses or lugging prams and pushchairs up and down bridges and streets, as not all areas are accessible via ramp.
