Much lauded and delightfully ostentatious, Apartment Antonella is an apartment you’ll be talking about for years to come, nestled in the heart of the Dorsoduro area of Venice. Accommodating up to eight guests across four elegant and stylish bedrooms, this stunning property offers incredible levels of luxury, as well as showcasing incredible views of the Grand Canal to the Accademia Bridge, The Academy of Fine Arts, and beyond.
Situated on the first floor, Apartment Antonella features a Grand Canal water entrance, ensuring that you and your guests can arrive, depart, and take sightseeing trips in style, and the luxury doesn’t end there! As you enter the property, you’re sure to be lost for words as you take in the stunning interior, featuring 17th-19th century antiques, sumptuously upholstered seating, and wallpapers and decorative features designed by some of the most celebrated interior designers. All of this plays gently alongside modern and classic pieces, for an eclectic fusion of pure opulence. A bright and spacious formal ‘salone’, with stunning gilded wall sconces and Venetian gothic windows opens out onto a marble balcony that overlooks the canal, and adjacent to that is a grand sitting room, with sumptuous teal sofas, rich gold fabrics, and fabulous antiques.
The main dining room is equally palatial, with a formal dining table that can accommodate 12 diners and overlooks the Grand Canal. This glorious space features rich ruby walls, gilded sconces and carved wooden churches for an elegant and decadent dinner experience. Apartment Antonella also features a breakfast room - accommodating eight guests and ideal for lighter, more informal meals - that you’ll find located adjacent to the apartment’s well-equipped kitchen. This beautifully bespoke designed area features brushed oak units, black marble work surfaces, a wooden butchers’ block, and a 15th century fireplace. Here you’ll find ample room for food preparation, as well as quality amenities and appliances that include a double oven and eight gas burner hob, Miele appliances, and an American-style fridge-freezer.
At the rear of the apartment, in contrast to the grand and formal Salone at the entrance, is a second sitting room decorated in a classic and cosy style. Guests can enjoy lounging here and indulging in reading, pre-dinner drinks and conversation, all while overlooking the leafy west-facing garden. From here it is easy to retire to the first of the apartment’s beautiful bedrooms - a spacious double that features a four-poster bed and refreshing blue and white decor, a chaise lounge in rub red, and an ensuite with a bathtub and shower facilities for the ultimate in convenience and luxury. A second double bedroom features a king-size bed and ensuite bathroom, and an elegant ‘bird and blossom’ decor for a wonderfully romantic ambience.
Apartment Antonella’s other two bedrooms are located in the centre of the apartment; a double with a dusky pink and delicate cream decor and ensuite bathroom, and a twin room (ideal for older kids!), with canopied beds and a ‘secret’ corridor leading to a double ensuite with bath and shower.

Location
About the surrounding area of Apartment AntonellaApartment Antonella is situated in Dorsoduro, one of the six main sestieri in central Venice, and an area known for less tourist-footfall and cheaper prices. There is plenty to see and do here, with the Gallerie dell’Accademia being one of the most popular attractions. Created by Napoleon, the gallery houses some of Venice’s most important paintings and comprises three buildings which were once used for religious purposes before becoming part of the museum complex.
Italian food is famous around the world, and in addition to the classic pasta, pizza and gelato, Venice is also famous for its delicious seafood dishes. You’ll find plenty of stunning places to dine along the canal, as well as some gorgeously chic rooftop restaurants. Some of the best places to eat in the region can be found at the Peggy Guggenheim gallery, which houses work by some of the most influential American and European artists of the 20th century.
A trip to Venice wouldn’t be complete without a visit to one of the city’s beautiful palaces, and Ca Ressonico is a luxurious and sophisticated choice, featuring sumptuous rooms and frescoes, and delicate marble staircases that offer guests a delightful taste of what life was once like for the wealthy residents of Venice.
Oliver recommends taking a trip to nearby St. Mark’s Square during your stay, a more populated and cosmopolitan area of Venice that is rich in its own exciting and interesting attractions. One of the most famous piazzas in all of Italy, and which Napoleon once called the ‘drawing room of Europe’, this incredibly beautiful spot is an absolute must-see while you are in Venice, and it is here that you’ll find the famous St. Mark’s Basilica, the jewel of the square and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful churches you’ll ever see.
The basilica is full of stunning mosaics, relics of St. Mark himself, and perhaps most famous of all, the four bronze horses (that are actually made of copper!). Tours of the church interior are free of charge, but it is worth knowing that queues to enter this popular attraction can exceed 45 minutes at peak times, so Oliver recommends showing up early!

Region
Venice, a captivating city situated in the northeastern part of Italy, is a place like no other. Often referred to as the "City of Canals," Venice is renowned for its unique and mesmerising beauty. Built on a network of one-hundred-and-eighteen small islands connected by a labyrinth of canals, this enchanting city offers an array of attractions and experiences that make it a must-visit destination for travellers from around the world.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesApartment Antonella is a grand and palatial property that is sure to appeal to larger groups with children. With plenty of space to explore, a twin bedroom and familiar home-comforts such as satellite TV and Wi-Fi, children are sure to enjoy a comfortable and memorable stay here. Oliver advises that this apartment is best suited to older children, as there are a number of antiques within the property, as well as a terrace that could prove hazardous to very young children - but well-supervised kids will have a blast here staying in unique and luxurious surroundings.
Venice is a popular destination for families thanks to its pedestrianised streets, lack of cars, wide open spaces, and child-friendly cafes and restaurants, and there’s plenty here to see and do - the kids are sure to love a gondola ride!
It’s unsurprising that a city on water is going to pose some challenges to parents with young children, but Venice is very family-friendly and with a bit of forward-planning nothing is insurmountable. A great feature of Venice that appeals to parents is that it is car-free, with plenty of areas where the kids can roam freely and enjoy all of the attractions that this unique city has to offer. If you are visiting with very young children, Oliver recommends bringing a baby carrier rather than having to struggle on and off of water buses or lugging prams and pushchairs up and down bridges and streets, as not all areas are accessible via ramp.
