Overview
For a city break accommodation that oozes class, sophistication, and opulence, look no further than a stay at Apartment Lia; a stunning four-bedroom apartment accommodating up to eight guests, located in the beautiful Dorsoduro region of Venice, Italy.
This luxurious and spacious property offers guests everything they need to enjoy a comfortable and atmospheric stay in one of the most stunning and romantic cities in the world, just a stone’s throw from iconic attractions such as the Accademia Galleries and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, St. Mark’s Square, and the Zattere and its spectacular views. The decor throughout is light and modern, with dazzling whites and creams complemented by soft accents of cream, gold and silver, and jewelled shades of ruby and opal. The ground floor features a grand entrance hall that leads to the first of the apartment’s bedrooms - a stylish double with a gorgeous beamed ceiling, sumptuous twin beds, and a gothic-inspired mirrored wardrobe. Guests staying in this room have access to a high-specification deluxe ensuite shower room for their convenience. The ground floor of Apartment Lia is also home to a handy utility room, complete with a combined washer/dryer - ideal for those enjoying an extended stay, or for guests who want to pack a little lighter for their trip and save some room in their luggage for those all-important souvenirs.
Stairs from the ground floor lead up to a spacious and bright sitting room - the perfect spot for lazy lounging with loved ones and for enjoying the breath-taking city views. Resplendent in rich shades of duck egg and ruby, and featuring beamed ceilings, luxurious custom-designed carpets, palazzo-style mirrors and a large corner sofa, this palatial lounge space is a joy to spend time in, with a sophisticated and charming ambience all of its own. Apartment Lia’s kitchen/diner is equally stylish and features high-end appliances such as a Miele oven and an integrated fridge/wine-cooler, as well as all the cookware and utensils you’ll need to enjoy rustic Italian feasts, busy breakfasts, and light bites during your stay. Banquet seating and a dining table that accommodates up to ten guests provides plenty of room for long, luxurious meals with family and friends, fuelled by hearty conversation and delicious wine.
There are two more beautiful bedrooms located on this floor; a second twin decked out in warm honey hues with beamed ceilings and bespoke carpeting, and a master bedroom decorated in a soft olive-grey, with a double bed, mirrored wardrobes, and ensuite facilities that have both a bathtub and shower. A second bathroom with shower facilities is also found on this floor, decorated in the same style as the master bedroom’s ensuite.
The fourth and final bedroom at Apartment Lia is located on the second floor and is a delightfully cosy penthouse suite that comprises a sitting room/study with a sofa, a small and stylish dressing room, and a double bedroom with ensuite shower room. From the penthouse guests can access the apartment’s fully furnished ‘Atlanta’ roof terrace - a magical spot for relaxing in the sun, enjoying a quiet drink, or simply taking in the incredible city vistas.
What you should know…
- The sofa in the penthouse bedroom can be turned into a single bed on request
- The steep and restricted headspace on the staircase that leads up to the rooftop terrace make Apartment Lia less suitable for young children, older guests and those with limited mobility
- The apartment only accommodates well-supervised children over the age of six, or children under the age of one, due to the internal staircases and rooftop terrace

Location
About the surrounding area of Apartment LiaApartment Lia is situated in Dorsoduro in central Venice, an area known for less tourist-footfall and cheaper prices than some parts of the city. There is plenty to see and do here, with the Gallerie dell’Accademia being one of the most popular attractions. Created by Napoleon, the gallery houses some of Venice’s most important paintings and comprises three buildings which were once used for religious purposes before becoming part of the museum complex.
Italian food is famous around the world, and in addition to the classic pasta, pizza and gelato, Venice is also famous for its delicious seafood dishes. You’ll find plenty of stunning places to dine along the canal, as well as some gorgeously chic rooftop restaurants. Some of the best places to eat in the region can be found at the Peggy Guggenheim gallery, which houses work by some of the most influential American and European artists of the 20th century.
A trip to Venice wouldn’t be complete without a visit to one of the city’s beautiful palaces, and Ca Ressonico is a luxurious and sophisticated choice, featuring sumptuous rooms and frescoes, and delicate marble staircases that offer guests a delightful taste of what life was once like for the wealthy residents of Venice.
Oliver recommends taking a trip to nearby St. Mark’s Square during your stay, a more populated and cosmopolitan area of Venice that is rich in its own exciting and interesting attractions. One of the most famous piazzas in all of Italy, and which Napoleon once called the ‘drawing room of Europe’, this incredibly beautiful spot is an absolute must-see while you are in Venice, and it is here that you’ll find the famous St. Mark’s Basilica, the jewel of the square and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful churches you’ll ever see.
The basilica is full of stunning mosaics, relics of St. Mark himself, and perhaps most famous of all, the four bronze horses (that are actually made of copper!). Tours of the church interior are free of charge, but it is worth knowing that queues to enter this popular attraction can exceed 45 minutes at peak times, so we recommend showing up early!

Region
Venice, a captivating city situated in the northeastern part of Italy, is a place like no other. Often referred to as the "City of Canals," Venice is renowned for its unique and mesmerising beauty. Built on a network of one-hundred-and-eighteen small islands connected by a labyrinth of canals, this enchanting city offers an array of attractions and experiences that make it a must-visit destination for travellers from around the world.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesDespite some limitations when it comes to the age ranges of children welcomed at Apartment Lia (those over the age of 6 and non-walking babies), this spacious apartment is a lovely environment for children, with plenty of space for all family members to dine and relax together, familiar home-comforts such as satellite TV and WiFi to enjoy, and a good mix of twin and double beds, as well as ensuite facilities.
Venice is a popular destination for families thanks to its pedestrianised streets, lack of cars, wide open spaces, and child-friendly cafes and restaurants, and there’s plenty here to see and do - the kids are sure to love a gondola ride!
It’s unsurprising that a city on water is going to pose some challenges to parents with young children, but Venice is very family-friendly and with a bit of forward-planning nothing is insurmountable. A great feature of Venice that appeals to parents is that it is car-free, with plenty of areas where the kids can roam freely and enjoy all of the attractions that this unique city has to offer. If you are visiting with very young children, Oliver recommends bringing a baby carrier rather than having to struggle on and off water buses or lugging prams and pushchairs up and down bridges and streets, as not all areas are accessible via ramp.
