Experience moments of pure bliss at cheerful Apartment Paxe, a 3-bedroom apartment oozing comfort and character in Venice's San Marco sestiere. Blessed with a world-class location, it’s a stone’s throw away from the gothic Palazzo Zaguri, directly across from the Museum of Music in sunny Campo San Maurizio. Tucked between the delightful cafes of Santo Stefano and trendy boutiques of St. Mark’s Square, you’re surrounded by some of the most breath-taking vistas Venice has to offer.
Boasting a ‘lagoon-and-boating’-style decor, Apartment Paxe accommodates a total of six guests on the first floor, which can be accessed by internal stairs. A symphony of ancient timbers and beautiful solid wooden floors, its gleaming palette of sunset yellows, distinctive artwork and collection of books creates an atmosphere of warmth and homeliness. Enjoy maximum comfort thanks to the self-controlled heating/ cooling system.
Make use of the hair dryer and iron to look your best always. Thorough disinfection and cleaning, as well as a change of bed linens once in every 8 days is provided to ensure utmost hygiene.
Behold awe-inspiring views of the campo and the leaning bell tower of Santo Stefano from the cosy living room. Make yourself comfortable on the sofa and watch your favourite shows on the TV. If you’re working remotely, connect to the high-speed free Wi-Fi. Little touches like a whimsical raft of wooden ducks and a painting of the beguiling Venetian lagoon make you feel right at home.
Whip up delicacies in the rustic, partially tiled Venetian galley kitchen. It’s beautifully stocked with wall-mounted copper pans, fridge, freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher, microwave, oven, kettle and juicer. Gather in the dining suite for six and enjoy intimate meals, with stunning views of the campo. Other amenities include a washing machine and dryer.
The master bedroom is dressed in soft yellows and features a double bed. Overlooking a private courtyard, it includes a walk-in wardrobe. The bathroom is ensuite, with gorgeous tilework, bathtub, and a separate shower. The second bedroom is kitted with an antique French size bed, graceful period furniture and a separate bathroom with shower. Location
About the surrounding area of Apartment PaxeThe apartment is conveniently located in the San Marco sestiere, the throbbing heart of Venice city. You’re surrounded by a constellation of historic sites, art galleries, charming cafes, eclectic restaurants and lively night spots.
Spend leisurely hours in the St. Mark’s Square, often hailed as one of the most beautiful city squares in the world. Admire the majestic, gold-leaden architecture of the St. Mark’s Basilica. Teeming with Byzantine treasures imported to Venice after the fall of Constantinople, its golden altarpiece is one-of-a-kind. A short walk away is the Palazzo Zaguri, a 14th Century Gothic palace which comprises two architecturally significant facades. Take a tour of its exhibitions and learn about the sometimes brutal, but always fascinating history of the region.
Immerse yourself in the hustle and bustle of Campo San Maurizio, which is choc-a-block with popular restaurants like Florian and Quadri, pretty cafes and lively buskers. Another cynosure of the Venetian landscape is the leaning Campanile Bell Tower of Santo Stefano. Standing at a height of 61 metres, it is one of the tallest buildings in the city. Its current structure dates back to the 15th Century.
Venice is a treasure trove for music lovers. Head to the Museum of Music and appreciate the legacy of Antonio Vivaldi, one of the greatest Baroque composers. Witness antique musical instruments and sheet music from the era, all for a free entry. Enjoy dazzling performances in La Fenice Opera House, a world famous 18th Century amphitheatre.
What’s more iconically Venetian than the Canale Grande? A short stroll from the apartment takes you to 3 vaporetto or water-stops: Accademia, Giglio and Sant’ Angel. Take an unforgettable gondola ride along the S-shaped canal which weaves through the heart of the city, against a backdrop of gorgeous facades. Find a table at The Gritti Palace’s ever-popular Riva Lounge and take in night-time views of the canal over delicious cocktails.

Region
Venice, a captivating city situated in the northeastern part of Italy, is a place like no other. Often referred to as the "City of Canals," Venice is renowned for its unique and mesmerising beauty. Built on a network of one-hundred-and-eighteen small islands connected by a labyrinth of canals, this enchanting city offers an array of attractions and experiences that make it a must-visit destination for travellers from around the world.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesIf you’ve been searching for a European city to visit with the children, Venice is a popular choice with families. The atmosphere is child-friendly, and you’ll find plenty of fascinating attractions that are suitable for visitors of all ages. Apartment Paxe is surrounded by a constellation of historic sites, art galleries, charming cafes and eclectic restaurants, so you won’t have to worry about hiring a car or taking public transport - although we definitely recommend taking a gondola ride or two!
It’s unsurprising that a city on water is going to pose some challenges to parents with young children, but most places in Venice are child-friendly and with a bit of forward-planning nothing is insurmountable. A great feature of Venice that appeals to parents is that it is car-free, with plenty of areas where the kids can roam freely and enjoy all of the attractions that this unique city has to offer. If you are visiting with very young children, Oliver recommends bringing a baby carrier rather than having to struggle on and off of water buses or lugging prams and pushchairs up and down bridges and streets, as not all areas are accessible via ramp.
