Overview

Pool Villa/House Modern Ideal for Kids Walk to Beach Parking Space

With similarly hued houses scattered around the same hill, the view from Villa Fiordaliso can make you feel as if you were holidaying in a sprawling resort, with the comforts of your own private sanctuary.

Designed in a minimalist colour palette and tastefully decorated, the villa enjoys a lot of space both internally and externally to help you reach the state of complete tranquillity. Downstairs, the open plan living and dining area are super spacious and flooded with light, with yellow touches throughout adding a further dose of vitamin D. Prepare your morning cereal bowl on the sleek breakfast bar before heading to enjoy your meal at the sun-flooded terrace or continue to laze around on the comfortable sofa. A set of stairs connects the upper floor where three double bedrooms can be found. Each room benefits from a clean colour palette, while the master bedroom also has its private mini terrace ideal for enjoying a touch of privacy.

Step outside to marvel at the fantastic sea view below. The outdoor terrace is equally chic as the interiors, with a white-washed pool inviting you for a refreshing dip when the sea seems too far. There are plenty of opportunities to soak up Sicily’s sunshine – retreat to the lounge area with your favourite book or finish work on the shaded terrace.

With the deep blue sea sparkling in the distance, it would be a pity not to visit the nearest sandy beach, Lido Greg. Just over a 10 minutes’ drive away, its golden-hued beauty is loved by enthusiastic holiday-goers and locals alike. From here, you are a 15 minutes’ drive to the two neighbouring towns – Alcamo Marina and Castellammare del Golfo – both dotted with little trattorias, cafés and charming cobbled streets.

Alcamo Marina – a seaside resort with a sand-meets-pebbles beach – can be reached by car in only 5 minutes and is ideal for an afternoon stroll with waves lapping at your feet. Talking about nice walks, Balestrate is another quaint harbour located on the opposite side, featuring a pretty town square and many gelato shops selling brioche con gelato – ice cream in a bun.

Whether you put Erice or one of the five Aegadian Islands on your bucket list, they can be comfortably reached from Trapani, a fishing and ferry port only a 45 minutes’ drive away.

Located west of Palermo, just after Castellammare del Golfo, the villa’s inland position with direct access to the main roads makes it the perfect base for exploring Sicily's unspoilt backcountry.

The property is sandwiched between two charming seaside resorts, Alcamo Marina and Castellammare del Golfo, both featuring a lovely beach with a wild mixture of pebbles and sand. Notably Castellammare del Golfo is a historic fishing port below steep mountain slopes and features a historic castle - Castello Arabo Normanno -  alongside many trattorias, parks and the elegant town hall on Corso Mattarella. When heading towards Alcamo Marina, you can find a spot loved by adventure enthusiasts, Lido Windsurf di Alcamo Marina and right next to it a public sandy beach Lido Greg.

One of the most popular tourist spots but not any less beautiful is the rocky coastline of Lo Zingaro Nature Reserve which stretches for 7km. Created entirely by wind and water, it’s full of dramatic cliffs dropping precipitously into the sea and hides a myriad of secret oases in the form of pebbly beaches nestled in rocky coves. The protected reserve attracts hikers and bathers alike who flock to its rugged terrain to get away from the crowds, especially during peak season.

Hop in the car for a fun road trip through Sicily’s snaking roads and head to the bustling city of Trapani. Featuring a rocky coastline with cliffs and picturesque vantage points, it’s an important fishing port backed by a selection of charming cafés and shops. Wander around its streets to discover an old church surrounded by wooden structures or visit the 17th century watchtower and soak up panoramic views. The city is also the main gateway to the nearby Aegadian Islands – a cluster of five small mountainous islands in the Mediterranean Sea known for their alcoves and tranquil beach spots. From Trapani you can also either drive or catch a cable car to Erice, a historical town with some incredible castles.

If you don’t mind spending some time in the car and admiring Sicily’s lush coastline, then the city of Palermo can be reached in approximately one hour. Noted for its history, the 2,700 years old capital is perfect for exploring history, culture, architecture, nightlife and gastronomy.

Region

It is a place where the ancient meets the modern, creating a unique atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression on all who visit.

After hours spent splashing around in the pool, take little swimmers to Alcamo Marina – a sun-kissed stretch of golden sand with gentle waves lapping at its shores. Plenty of space with sun loungers for rent ensures children can run around, play beach sports and build sandcastles while you comfortably watch them from under the parasol. Teenagers can get their adrenaline fix trying out windsurfing – head to Lido Windsurf di Alcamo Marina to arrange their first lessons.

Perhaps one of the best activities for the whole family is discovering the island’s diverse marine life. Boat trips of all types and durations can be arranged at the port or in Alcamo’s town centre and include routes to the most scenic places on the island. You will have the opportunity to dive off craggy rocks, stop to take pictures and perhaps you might even spot some turtles and dolphins.

For a change of scenery, travel by car for 25 minutes to Segesta Parco Archeologico – an archaeological museum with a well-preserved ancient Greek temple and amphitheatre as well as many other ruins. Be sure to stay for sunset to witness the sky change in the colours of hydrangea as the sun slips behind the horizon.
