Overview
Villa Giovani sits in perfect isolation high above the bay of Mazza di Sciacca, with breath-taking panoramic views of the entire gulf. The region is steeped in natural beauty; crystal clear waters which characterise the local beaches beckon from afar. The nearby nature reserve hosts some fantastic walks and hidden coves which practically demand exploring.
The property has a tranquil charm thanks to its locality, and the interior is bright and welcoming given the large windows which look upon the magnificent views beyond. There is a simple and coordinated colour scheme which runs throughout, echoing the colours of the surrounding environment. Rustle up a delicious meal from local produce in the fully equipped kitchen for the whole family to enjoy. Thanks to the open plan nature of the kitchen, living and dining area, the chef will never feel left out! The two bedrooms are tastefully furnished, one with a King size bed with a gorgeous view of the garden and pool, and the other with two single beds. Another double bed can be found on the mezzanine with access via a ladder, this is available at an additional cost.
Outside, terracotta roof tiles and rough stone windowsills give an immediate Sicilian authenticity to the grounds. The covered veranda is as expansive as it is comfortable, equipped with two luxurious sofas as well as dining equipment. This property feels especially secluded, and its large lawn which swallows the swimming pool (which comes with a hydro- massage function!) is an ideal space for families with children to enjoy. Scents of olive trees, pomegranate and hibiscus fragrance the rich Mediterranean garden.
Villa Giovani is in an ideal location to enjoy the beautiful region of Sicily. Less than a kilometre away you can reach the stunning beach of Cala Mazzo di Sciacca with crystal clear waters. It may be tempting to spend your whole holiday in this fabulous villa or at the nearby beach, but Sicily promises many other treasures, such as San Vito Lo Capo, a famous sandy beach only 45km away, or venture further to the Sicilian capital, Palermo, to discover royal tombs and a neoclassical theatre.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa GiovaniVilla Giovani is located just a 15-minute walk from the coastal village of Scopello. Here, ceramics and souvenirs shops, as well as boutiques, cafés and restaurants lie under the shadow of a large eucalyptus. On the road to Trapani one can spot the idyllically situated Greek temple of Segesta, one of the Mediterranean’s finest archaeological sites.
Less than 2km is the Lo Zingaro Nature reserve, which stretches for 7km between the lovely village of Scopello in the east to near San Vito Lo Capo in the west. Created in 1981, this park and its surrounding areas are one of the most beautiful parts of western Sicily.
Lo Zingaro has been shaped by nature to dramatic effect. Cliffs drop precipitously into the azure sea and the series of pebbly beaches hidden amongst a myriad of coves are as lovely as you can find in the Mediterranean. The park attracts both walkers and bathers alike and in the summer, when many beaches are overcrowded, it is a good idea to head for Lo Zingaro, walk for half an hour and find relative isolation on a virtually deserted beach.
Castellammare del Golfo, 12km, is an attractive seaside town between Palermo and Trapani. The historic fishing port has a picturesque location, below steep mountain slopes; with a handsome curved harbour at the foot of a small headland topped with a castle. There are still small working fishing boats, and you may see fishermen mending their nets on board or selling the day's catch. Castellammare has a little central park, opposite the elegant town hall on Corso Mattarella. The park has a small children's play area, shady trees, and benches views over the harbour.

Region
Nestled on the westernmost tip of the stunning island of Sicily, Western Sicily is a region that offers a captivating blend of natural beauty, rich history, and mouthwatering cuisine. It is a place where the ancient meets the modern, creating a unique atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression on all who visit.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesThere are plenty of activities to keep the little ones occupied in this region of Italy. Thanks to the varied landscape, they can enjoy water sports and sandcastle building at the nearby beach, or a family walk or cycle around Lo Zingaro nature reserve, followed by a picnic full of delicious Italian snacks or a gelato! Lo Zingaro will especially appeal to geography fans as you can find every coastal natural geographic feature here: caves, sea stacks, arches and more.
Under an hour away, towards Palermo, you can find Bioparco di Sicilia, a wildlife park and a great day out for the family. There is a mini zoo with zebras, monkeys and many other animals, an aquarium and a greenhouse full of tropical plants and reptiles.
Another fun day trip can be taken to the city of Palermo itself. Kids will love browsing through the colourful stalls at markets which sell souvenirs and local produce or through Palermo’s many gardens and ruins. For history lovers, or perhaps lovers of spooky stories, head to the Catacombe dei Cappuccini, where you’ll find thousands of mummified bodies dating back to the 17th century.
Towards Trapani you can visit the fascinating hilltop town of Erice, which sits 750m above sea level – which means it’s considerably cooler! Erice is a well-preserved medieval town with breath-taking views of the landscape below. There are a staggering sixty churches in this town including the Gothic Chiesa Madre (1314) and the Mediaeval Church of Saint John the Baptist.
