Overview
For those seeking serenity, a stay in Clews House is the perfect place for you. This traditional Gozo home sits at the top of the picturesque valley of Dahlet Qorrot, in the village of Qala, on the easternmost tip of the Maltese island of Gozo, in the Mediterranean Sea.
The villa is peaceful and private, offering breathtaking sunset views and hues of sea blues on the distant horizon. Clews House has three spacious double bedrooms and can comfortably accommodate up to six adults, plus 2 children and a baby or toddler, ideal for a large family holiday or friends’ get-together. The accommodation is arranged over one storey, with all the rooms facing the inner courtyard, home to your private swimming pool. The villa has off-street parking, complimentary air conditioning and Wi-Fi, and an entertainment system that includes access to worldwide channels and streaming services. The property is built out of local light stone, the interiors have curved walls and domed ceilings, cool floor tiling, and beautiful mosaics in the bathrooms. The furnishings are elegantly classical, with lots of natural dark wood, and charmingly decorated in a very smart white and navy colour palette.
The property occupies the ground floor with access via the entrance hall, where you will find a light and airy holiday home from home. The seating area has a domed ceiling, with double doors that give access to the pool terrace. It is simply furnished with a sofa bed, wood coffee and sideboards, and a satellite television. The dining area has a six-seater polished wood table and chairs, ideal for some impressive indoor entertaining, and a desk and chair for those who might have to work on the holiday.
The large all-white and wood kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need to cater for your holiday, including a private chef (on request, extra charge may apply) if you don’t fancy cooking. Three beautifully-appointed double bedrooms are all dressed in uniform blue and white. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. The second bedroom has a king-size bed, and the third has two twin beds. There is a shared bathroom with a shower, hand basin, and WC. Tall pine trees surround the stone-tiled terrace, with beautiful panoramic views over the countryside and beyond. There is an azure blue step-entry swimming pool, long enough for a few lengths and lovely enough for a cooling afternoon dip. There are six inviting blue sun loungers with shady parasols strategically positioned to maximise those views and catch some rays. As dusk falls, gather on the terrace for cocktails and watch the sunset before feasting alfresco at the outdoor six-seater dining set, from dishes freshly grilled on the barbeque.

Experience the diverse coastline, rich history and stunning landscapes of this beautiful island, often referred to as the quieter little sister of Malta. Gozo is reached by ferry from Cirkewwa, the northernmost point of Malta, or from Valletta’s port on a highspeed ferry service to Mgarr.
Although Gozo is a small island, there is so much to see and do whether you are seeking sunny beaches and snorkelling spots or hoping to learn about Gozo’s cultural heritage and rich history. The gastronomic scene will also excite you with a wealth of delicious local products. Try the traditional ftira usually baked in a wood-fired oven, served with Gozitan cheese or anchovies, possibly accompanied by a glass of wine produced from vines by the sea or craft beer inspired by the island.
Crystal-clear water will draw you to Gozo’s array of beaches from the wild yet popular Ramla Bay, so loved for its red-hued sand and natural surroundings, to the remote gorge at Wied il-Ghasri reached via a staircase cut into the cliffs. What’s more, the island attracts divers from across the world who come to experience some of Europe’s finest diving sites.
Outdoor adventurists will adore the range of cycling and biking trails, walking paths, horse-riding opportunities and watersports. Meanwhile, boat trips allow you to appreciate Gozo from a different point of view and visit yet more spectacular attractions including the little island of Comino and its Blue Lagoon.
Step back in time as you explore the fortified city, Cittadella, with its baroque cathedral and museums, before heading to the pre-historic Ġgantija Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. To soak up yet more culture, spend time in the historic village of Xewkija with its magnificent limestone church and iconic dome.
When planning your luxury getaway on the island, bear in mind that Gozo is a delightful destination to enjoy throughout the seasons. Bask in the mild winter sunshine, hike through the spring flowers, embrace vibrant summer festivities or swim in the warm turquoise sea as autumn gently approaches.
