About the surrounding area of High View HouseHigh View House can be found near the tranquil village of Nadar, the most eastern spot on the small island of Gozo, set in the heart of the Maltese Mediterranean Sea. There is no international airport on the island, guests are advised to fly to Malta, take transportation to the northern port, and then hop on the frequent ferry to Mgarr Harbour in Gozo. From Mgarr Harbour it is a short four-kilometre journey to your holiday home.
The island of Gozo is only seven kilometres long, and thirteen kilometres wide, so anywhere you want to go is within easy reach. For your holiday provisions, the nearest shops and restaurants are within walking distance of the house. The village of Nadar is set in a verdant valley, with a tranquil bay, and breath-taking sea views out to Malta, and the nearby island of Comino. Nadar has a beautiful Baroque church, and on the way to San Blas beach, the Ta’ Isopu Knights Tower. Within a two-kilometre radius, there are five fabulous beaches. The nearest is; the unspoilt Dahlet Qorrot, with its boathouses formed from natural caves, the dazzling white sands of Iz-Zewwieqa Bay, Hondoq ir-Rummien, is best for swimming and water sports, and the famous must-see red sands of Rambla.
Nearby Qala is the easternmost tip of the island, with prehistoric remains, inviting bays and beaches, a church on a hill with a view, and live music in the square every night in summer. Mgarr Harbour is a quaint traditional fishing village, where you can take a walk along the promenade, admire the yachts, and feast on the local cuisine. Take time to visit the impressive gothic Lourdes Chapel and the sculpture of the Three Graces, before enjoying a cocktail in the famous Gleneagles Bar.
The island of Gozo dates from neolithic times, since then it has been invaded and occupied by the Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Sicilians, the French and finally the British. This melting pot of cultures can be seen in its history, architecture, and culture. Start your historical education with the Ggantija Temples, one of the world’s oldest free-standing structures, and now a UNESCO and World Heritage Site. Only seven kilometres from the house is the capital city of Ir-Rabat, known locally as Victoria since 1887, renamed in honour of Queen Victoria to celebrate her jubilee.
Walk the fortified Bronze Age citadel of the city, stop in Independence Square for a browse in the local market, and a coffee in a café, Seek solace in the seventeenth-century Baroque Grand Basilica of St George, before wandering the old streets full of shops, selling delicacies and souvenirs. The city is also known for its collection of museums, theatres, clubs, and opera houses. Find peace and tranquillity with a stroll around Villa Rundle Public Gardens, established by the British in 1910. Finally, don’t miss a day out to the nearby island of Comino, take the ferry from Mgaar harbour, swim, and snorkel in the beautiful blue lagoon, before exploring the island’s natural habitat, numerous churches, and dining by the seashore on freshly caught fish.

Region
Experience the diverse coastline, rich history and stunning landscapes of this beautiful island, often referred to as the quieter little sister of Malta. Gozo is reached by ferry from Cirkewwa, the northernmost point of Malta, or from Valletta’s port on a highspeed ferry service to Mgarr.
Although Gozo is a small island, there is so much to see and do whether you are seeking sunny beaches and snorkelling spots or hoping to learn about Gozo’s cultural heritage and rich history. The gastronomic scene will also excite you with a wealth of delicious local products. Try the traditional ftira usually baked in a wood-fired oven, served with Gozitan cheese or anchovies, possibly accompanied by a glass of wine produced from vines by the sea or craft beer inspired by the island.
Crystal-clear water will draw you to Gozo’s array of beaches from the wild yet popular Ramla Bay, so loved for its red-hued sand and natural surroundings, to the remote gorge at Wied il-Ghasri reached via a staircase cut into the cliffs. What’s more, the island attracts divers from across the world who come to experience some of Europe’s finest diving sites.
Outdoor adventurists will adore the range of cycling and biking trails, walking paths, horse-riding opportunities and watersports. Meanwhile, boat trips allow you to appreciate Gozo from a different point of view and visit yet more spectacular attractions including the little island of Comino and its Blue Lagoon.
Step back in time as you explore the fortified city, Cittadella, with its baroque cathedral and museums, before heading to the pre-historic Ġgantija Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. To soak up yet more culture, spend time in the historic village of Xewkija with its magnificent limestone church and iconic dome.
When planning your luxury getaway on the island, bear in mind that Gozo is a delightful destination to enjoy throughout the seasons. Bask in the mild winter sunshine, hike through the spring flowers, embrace vibrant summer festivities or swim in the warm turquoise sea as autumn gently approaches.

Starting with the villa with its own private swimming pool, where they can splash and play all day. You are spoilt for choice with family-friendly beaches near Nadar, the nearest and quietest is Dahlet Qorrot, where they can explore the boathouse caves, Hondoq ir-Rummien is great for your older kids with water sports and cave hunting opportunities, and the red sand of Ramla Bay is a winner with its shallow waters, and for something different, try a day out at the inland sea of Dwerja.

Also in Marsalforn is the Qbaijar promenade, which has a watch tower, breathtaking sea views, and a children’s play area. The rock-cut saltpans that protrude into the sea at Qbaijar Bay are reputedly over three hundred and fifty years old and stretch along three kilometres of the coastline. Children and adults alike will love a tour on the trackless train, from the island’s capital of Victoria, up to the village of Xaghra. The tour takes in St Martha’s chapel, the village of Xaghra, the Xewkija Rotunda Church, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Chapel, the Ggantija Temples, now a world and UNESCO Heritage site, the Ta’ Kola Windmill, the Villa Rundle Gardens, and views over the citadel of Victoria itself.
In the village of Xaghra is the charming Gozo Toy Museum, small and still privately owned, showcasing much loved old toys, including an eighteenth-century Maltese doll with a carved wooden head, a 1930s Noah’s Ark, a classic Hornby train set, and Dinky cars. Discover Victoria, the island’s capital, with a stop at the Visitor Centre, which tells the story and history of the city, including the many and varied occupiers, brave knights, and bloody battles. Then go forth and find these sights in the citadel, including cathedrals, law courts, the old prison, the Nature Museum, the Gozo Museum of Archaeology, and the Gran Castello Historic House. End the day in one of the many family-friendly restaurants and discover the delights of the local Maltese cuisine.
Spend some time in the Villa Rundle Garden in Victoria, a nature-themed venue with a play area, hosts kid-centric activities, and an opportunity to discover the local flora and fauna. Get them moving with a day’s kayaking, biking, hiking, climbing, abseiling, water sports, or scuba diving. All aboard the ferry from Mgarr Harbour to the nearby island of Comino, where they can swim and snorkel in the crystal clear waters of the Blue Lagoon, before discovering the hidden treasures and wild nature this tiny island has to offer.

Great!
A peaceful place where to rest for few days, close to the beach and sea view, I've been there with my family and relaxed between bbq and pool, despite some bad weather conditions we enjoyed the sunny moments swimming and eating outside. Kevin, the host, was very available in everything, immediately replied at whatsapp messages or call and found a solution when it needs. The Villa is very big with 4 bedrooms with all comfort, you also have a big living room and kitchen equipped with all needs. Highly recommended.
Don't miss out! Reserve now and get a full refund if you change your mind within 48hrs.
