Overview
Casa Belha is a four bedroom, four bathroom modern beach house housing eight guests set within 50 acres of family-owned Mexican jungle. It was commissioned to be built by one of Mexico’s most infamous beach architects and has been decorated to a minimalist yet personal finish. The owner has decorated it with artwork and wood from the local area, such as mahogany. Located next to Hotel Esencia on a private road amongst a palm tree estate, this detached villa gives you plenty of privacy without feeling completely isolated. Casa Belha has plenty of space for you to relax. Including six lounging areas and seven terraces overlooking panoramic gardens, it’s certain that you will leave your stay feeling refreshed.
The villa itself spans 9000 square feet, with the ground floor consisting of a living room, kitchen, and bar room. Upstairs are four suites - three ocean suites and a master suite - each with their own en-suite and some with views of the Caribbean Sea. There is also a laundry room to help you feel at home. Outside in the gardens is a hot tub, heated pool, and palapas which light up at night, creating a cosy environment for socialising as a group. The gardens themselves are of an impeccable standard and are home to various native trees and plants which are home to a variety of colourful birds also native to Mexico. The gardens and the palm tree estate are separated by a natural pool - or cenote - which can be used for swimming at certain times of the year.
Casa Belha is located just a stone’s throw from the Xpu-Ha beach, which features turquoise waters lapping at stunning white sand as well as a private palapas to shade oneself. The beach itself has been ranked as one of the best three beaches on the Riviera Maya.
The Riviera Maya is a beautiful stretch of coastline on the Yucatan Peninsula located in north-eastern Mexico. Just south of Cancun, the area is renowned for its fine dining restaurants and stunning beaches while also having a quiet and relaxing environment to holiday in.
What you should know…
- Caguama giant sea turtles lay their eggs on the private beach from June-July
- Please be aware that the pool is not fenced, and there is minimal fencing to the beach, so children must be supervised at all times

Location
About the surrounding area of Casa BelhaThe Casa Belha is set between Tulum and Playa del Carmen, two places bursting with history and culture. An hour from the airport, the luxury villa is within driving distance of the Mayan Pyramids, with some of Riviera Maya’s best nightclubs serving exotic cocktails only twenty minutes away. There’s also a large variety of restaurants catering to all, whether you eat meat, fish, or are vegetarian/vegan.
With a beach-side location, it is possible to walk to the beach although there are others in the area that can be visited such as the Playa Delfines where wild dolphins can be spotted. This beach is only a twenty-five minute car journey from the villa and is definitely worth it for its expansive white sands and shallow turquoise waters.
The Yucatan Peninsula is around 181,000 square kilometres and Mayan languages are spoken there due to the vast Mayan history of the area. The name of the peninsula itself is debated, however many think that Spanish explorers asked the name of the area and were told “I don’t understand” in Mayan in response. This sounded like the name, Yucatan, and the name stuck! Throughout the peninsula are a variety of Maya archaeological sites such as Chichen Itza, Coba, and Tulum, perfect for exploring if someone in your group is keen on history. The main temple at Chichen Itza is El Castillo and is stunning with a sunset backdrop. Close to Tulum, you will be able to visit the Parque Nacionale Tulum, a coastal area home to natural sinkholes called cenotes. After a swim or dive, make sure to go to Hartwood, a local restaurant serving some of the best food in Tulum and a variety of national dishes. Or, go for a romantic dinner at the Saffron at Mayakoba that overlooks Mayakoba’s lagoons. There are many other activities to enjoy around the villa, from swimming with whale sharks, shopping in Play Del Carman or visiting the stunning Mayan ruins at Tulum. Furthermore, you can visit the Mesoamerican reef system, which spans 1,000 km along the Caribbean and is the second largest in the world after the Great Barrier Reef.

One of the region's standout attractions is the ancient Mayan city of Tulum. Perched on a clifftop overlooking the Caribbean Sea, Tulum boasts well-preserved ruins that offer a glimpse into the ancient civilization's architectural prowess. Visitors can explore the Castillo, a castle-like structure with panoramic ocean views and the amazing Temple of the Frescoes, adorned with intricate Mayan murals. Dos Ojos, meaning "Two Eyes" in Spanish, is a famous cenote system offering surreal underwater landscapes for snorkelers and scuba divers. Crystal-clear waters reveal intricate rock formations and unique ecosystems, providing an incredible aquatic experience.
In addition to these natural wonders, Riviera Maya boasts vibrant towns and cities that add to its charm. Playa del Carmen, a bustling coastal town, is known for its lively atmosphere, Fifth Avenue shopping district and vibrant nightlife. Visitors can stroll along the pedestrian-friendly street, lined with shops, restaurants and entertainment venues. A short distance from Playa del Carmen, the eco-archaeological park, Xcaret, offers a unique blend of nature, culture, and adventure. Families enjoy cultural performances, interact with wildlife in the park's zoo and experience the thrill of the underground river. Xcaret provides a fascinating journey through Mexican history and traditions, making it an ideal destination for all ages. Venturing south, Akumal is a coastal town known for its tranquil beaches and the opportunity to swim with sea turtles. Observing these gentle creatures in their natural habitat is a fabulous experience.
