Overview
Situated between an area of lush mangrove jungle and the beautiful white sands of Soliman Bay is Casa La Semilla, a stunning five bedroom villa that can accommodate up to 16 guests and features a private stretch of beach, plunge and infinity pools, and tropical gardens. This incredible property fuses rustic, beachy charm with contemporary luxury style, and offers guests a relaxing and tranquil retreat away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Upon arrival guests won’t fail to be impressed by Casa La Semilla's exterior beauty; a swathe of white and wood among the palm trees and lush jungle surrounds. There is an incredible infinity pool that seems to end where the turquoise skies and glittering ocean begin, as well as plenty of sun loungers and hammocks so that guests can lay back and enjoy the stunning views. The villa is perfectly equipped for al-fresco dining, with an exquisitely carved wooden dining table and chairs taking pride of place in the shaded outdoor dining area, and there is an outdoor wood-fired oven and grill, perfect for rustling up some grilled seafood or steaks and fresh salad, before kicking back with some cocktails beside the pool.
The first floor of Casa La Semilla is beautifully spacious, with floor to ceiling windows and an open-plan layout. The decor is kept neutral, with lots of white and light coloured woods, all of which contribute to a very ethereal and boho vibe. There are exposed ceiling beams in some rooms, and plenty of seating areas where the most is made of raw natural materials in both the furnishings and fixtures. A plush white corner sofa offers a cosy place to snuggle up and watch the flatscreen TV, and the table football, indoor palms, and cage style chairs all add a touch of the eclectic. The kitchen area is well-equipped with a large electric oven, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, and coffee maker, and also features the same colour scheme of wood-on-white for a continuation on the laid-back beach theme. The terrace that is located off of this floor allows guests to flow seamlessly from indoors to out, and offers views of the garden, pool, and stretch of private beach.
Casa La Semilla boasts five stunning bedrooms, all featuring en-suite facilities, and a private terrace that offers incredible ocean views. Three of the bedrooms have king size beds, with the other two containing two doubles - one with the added benefit of a single sofa bed. The decor throughout sticks to a very light and neutral colour palette, with plenty of natural shades woven in, and there are sofas and seating areas, as well as hammocks and air conditioning to contribute to the luxurious feel. The en-suites all boast both a shower and a bathtub, and guests staying in the master suite can enjoy exclusive use of a private terrace and plunge pool.
What you should know…
- The garden area features an uncovered fountain and pond, and neither pools have fences or guardrails, so those staying with children will want to be extra vigilant
- A couple of the bedrooms feature multiple beds making them best suited to families travelling with small children or friends sharing
- Please note that in Mexico it is customary to tip the villa staff approximately 5-10% of the total rental price

Location
About the surrounding area of Casa La SemillaSoliman Bay sits just north of Tulum Village and is surrounded by the private beachfront community; of which Casa La Semilla is a part. This area is well known for providing a peaceful and tranquil escape from the more bustling areas, with its lazy beaches and lapping oceans, yoga retreats, and hammocks beneath the palm trees. Heading into Tulum itself on the Riviera Maya visitors will find chic boutiques and cafes, vibrant cocktail bars, and of course the famous Mayan ruins. While you are staying in the area be sure to visit nearby Playa Del Carmen, just as trendy as Tulum, but with a more cosmopolitan feel than the hippie-chic vibe of Soliman Bay. Here the reefs offer excellent opportunities for diving and snorkelling, where you’ll be able to spot rays, eels, turtles, and coral. If you want to see those sights without getting wet, then the Aquarium is well worth a visit; an impressive three storeys of over 200 marine species and 45 exhibits, or, if you want to immerse yourself in some Mexican culture, check out the Frida Kahlo museum and learn about one of the country’s most famous icons.

Region
Hugging the Caribbean coastline of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula, Tulum enjoys incredible white sandy beaches, ancient Mayan ruins and a bustling cultural scene. This coastal town, once a quiet fishing village, has evolved into a sought-after destination, offering a unique blend of history, natural beauty and considerable contemporary charm. Tulum has embraced sustainable tourism and many resorts showcase eco-friendly architecture that seamlessly integrates with the natural surroundings. From boutique hotels to luxurious beachfront properties, these establishments often prioritize eco-conscious practices, making them a perfect choice for travellers seeking a harmonious blend of comfort and environmental responsibility. Tulum has become a global hub for wellness seekers, with numerous yoga retreats and wellness centres. Visitors can participate in beachfront yoga sessions, holistic spa treatments and meditation workshops, immersing themselves in a rejuvenating and mindful experience.
One of the most iconic attractions in Tulum is the ancient Mayan archaeological site, perched majestically on cliffs overlooking the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. The well-preserved ruins include the Castillo, a towering pyramid, and the Temple of the Frescoes, adorned with intricate carvings. Visitors can explore the remnants of this once-thriving city and marvel at the ingenuity of the Mayan civilization.
Stretching along the coast, Tulum's beaches are renowned for their powdery white sand and crystal-clear waters. Playa Paraíso is a favourite among sun-seekers, offering a serene setting for relaxation and water activities. Snorkeling and diving enthusiasts can explore the vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life just off the shore. A unique architectural feature of Tulum's beachfront are the charming cabanas. These rustic yet stylish thatched-roof huts provide a cozy and intimate setting, allowing guests to experience the beauty of the Caribbean Sea right at their doorstep.
The Yucatán Peninsula is dotted with cenotes, natural sinkholes formed by collapsed cave systems. In the Tulum region, cenotes such as Gran Cenote and Dos Ojos beckon adventurers with their enchanting underground landscapes. These freshwater pools provide a refreshing escape from the heat and an opportunity for snorkeling and cave exploration. For nature lovers, a visit to the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve is a must. This UNESCO World Heritage Site encompasses a diverse range of ecosystems, including mangroves, wetlands and coral reefs. Guided tours offer glimpses of the region's rich biodiversity, with opportunities to spot dolphins, manatees and numerous bird species. Exploring Tulum by bicycle is a popular and eco-friendly way to take in the sights. The town and its surroundings offer bike-friendly paths, allowing cyclists to traverse the area at a leisurely pace, from the archaeological site to the vibrant town centre. Families with a love for wildlife can visit the Tulum Monkey Sanctuary, where rescued monkeys and other animals are cared for. Educational tours allow children and adults alike to learn about the importance of conservation and animal welfare.
A short drive from Tulum, Akumal is known for its serene beaches and the opportunity to swim with sea turtles in their natural habitat. The laid-back atmosphere and vibrant coral reefs make it a delightful day trip destination. Inland from Tulum lies Valladolid, a colonial town steeped in history. Its characterful streets, historic churches and vibrant markets provide a glimpse into Mexico's colonial past. The nearby Cenote Zaci offers a refreshing break for those exploring the town.
Tulum beckons with open arms, inviting you to explore its rich tapestry of culture and landscapes. It will send you home with marvellous holiday memories.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesWith bedrooms that feature two or more beds, a pool, and a spacious open plan layout, Casa La Semilla is well-suited to families with children, once you take into account there are some open bodies of water to consider. The villa has its own private stretch of beach, and the water here is known to be calm and clear; ideal for little swimmers! Children will enjoy being surrounded by so much wonderful nature - with Iguanas and sea turtles to spot, as well as colourful fish and coral; it would be possible to spend whole days splashing in the sea and playing in the soft white sand, before resting in the shade of a palm and then heading back to the villa for a dip in the pool and a bbq with the family. For those who want to be a bit more adventurous, we recommend hiring bikes and exploring the surrounding areas. It is a popular pastime here with families, and a great way to spend an afternoon taking in the sights, maybe before stopping for a fresh fruit juice at one of the many beach bars along the way.
If you all fancy a day away from the beach then why not head to the Tulum Monkey Sanctuary? Ideal for the smallest tots, and any animal lovers among you, this wonderful attraction is home to the emblematic spider monkey, as well as capuchins and ring tailed lemurs. Here you’ll be able to see a wide variety of primates, as well as other rescued animals such as goats, deer, macaws and horses. The tours are kept small and quiet so as not to be too distracting to the animals, and guests will be pleased to see that the habitats are incredibly clean and large, and that there are guides on hand to explain how the animals arrived to be here, and how they are cared for.
