When arriving at Dar Laadem, you will quickly realise that you are in for a treat. The 12,000 sqm of grounds are liberally sprinkled with palm trees, olive trees, bougainvillaea, lush lawns and colourful exotic plants. They are truly stunning, enveloping the villa beautifully. Within the grounds, you will discover the boules strip, the glorious 18m x 10m swimming pool surrounded by luxury loungers and parasols, the tennis court with lighting where you can practice your shots, the pool house and numerous terraces where you can dine and lounge alfresco. Some of the alfresco lounge spaces are shaded from the heat of the sun, whilst others are sun-drenched. The pool can be heated on request. The pool house comes with a bar so that you can enjoy glasses of your favourite tipple while taking in the views. There is a fabulous covered alfresco dining room for twelve, a griddle and barbecue for delicious suppers and an outdoor shower and toilet for convenience. Thirteen of the villa’s rooms open directly onto terraces with clear views of the dramatic mountains. There are four first-floor balconies with gorgeous outdoor furnishings, perfect spots for your morning cup of coffee, a pre-dinner drink while you are getting ready for the evening or a late-night drink gazing at the stars.

Within the villa’s warm, inviting, blush exterior, there are many opulent reception spaces, including an enormous lobby, a dining room, a huge living room with a fireplace and giant smart television, a fully-equipped contemporary kitchen, a hammam, a massage room and a fitness room. On the first floor, there is also a reading room with a feature fireplace and magnificent vistas of the Atlas Mountains. The fitness room boasts a bold royal blue colour palette and exceptional equipment for those that want to maintain their fitness levels. The living spaces are truly mesmerising, with giant works of contemporary art and wonderful furnishings. There are leather loungers, perfectly placed to enjoy the garden and mountain views, sumptuous corner sofas sprinkled with colourful scatter cushions and a circular, modern dining table for indoor dining.

Dar Laadem’s six bedrooms are every bit as lavish as its living spaces. You will discover a fabulous blend of traditional Moroccan and modern furnishings, some extraordinary art, feature fireplaces, feature walls and superb views. Two of the bedrooms are located on the ground floor, with direct access to the terrace, garden and pool. They both enjoy lavish kingsize beds, beautifully adorned with luxury linens and gorgeous soft furnishings, ensuite shower rooms and televisions, all perfect for long lazy lie-ins. Three of the four bedrooms on the upper floor also enjoy beautifully dressed kingsize beds, televisions and sophisticated ensuite bathrooms. Dar Laadem enjoys an excellent location within fifteen minutes of Marrakech’s Jamaa el Fna Square. It is a great spot to relax after a busy day in the city centre or hiking in the mountains.

Marrakech is a dazzling, vibrant, colourful city that will awaken all of your senses. In 1985, Marrakech’s Medina was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it is easy to see why. Colourful spices, glistening silver lamps with the promise of a genie, vibrant carpets and leather in every shade imaginable are combined with its rich, ancient architecture in a fabulous kaleidoscope of colour. Its souks are loud, thrilling and very exciting. You will discover snake charmers, storytellers and potion sellers. Dining in the Medina is an adventure which will set your tastebuds tingling. Smoke rises from barbecues which are enjoyed along with Gnawa musicians, acrobats and fortune tellers. The famous Patisserie des Princes is perfect for sweet treats and ice cream afterwards. Many of the riads boast exquisite restaurants for fine dining experiences where you will enjoy creative, spice-laced modern Moroccan menus. Hammams were introduced to the city by the Romans and adapted to fit with Islamic ablution rituals. Visitors enjoy wonderful hammam experiences at Hammam de la Rose, the Farnatchi Spa, the deluxe Royal Mansour and many other spas.

Marrakech boasts a fabulous collection of interesting museums, including the Musee Tiskiwin, where you can learn about the history of Marrakech and the region in general. The Dar Si Said Museum is an exhibition of historic and contemporary Moroccan art, full of intricate Byzantine designs and colours. The Music Museum is located in the Saadian quarter, built in the 16th and 17th centuries. The reception of the museum is a jewel of Arab-Andalusian architecture.

Also giving you an insight into the city’s history are the magnificent 16th-century Saadian Tombs. Sultan al-Mansour spared no expense in decorating his opulent mausoleum with imported Italian Carrara marble and a gilded honeycomb muqarnas ceiling. The once magnificent Bali Palace is now a monumental ruin with giant reflecting pools and breathtaking views of the city. The stunning Bahia Palace is amazing and offers the mesmerising quarters of Bou Ahmed’s favourite concubine, Lalla Zineb.

The area around the city is sprinkled with beautiful gardens. Le Jardin Secret is one of Medina’s largest and most important gardens, with a Persian garden full of tufty grasses and olive, pomegranate, fig and date trees and a second smaller garden offering exotic plants. An elaborate irrigation system weaves its way through the gardens, part of an ancient network that once distributed water from artesian wells and fed by the mountains. When fashion icon Yves St Laurent arrived in the city in 1964, he was overwhelmed by the city and its vivacity. He lived in the Jardin Majorelle with his partner, a lush garden painted with an intense shade of ultramarine blue. It is sprinkled with giant cacti, palms and bamboo groves. The Berber Museum is filled with Yves St Laurent’s personal jewellery and fashion collection, and the Musee Yves St Laurent offers a stunning choreography presentation of the clothes in a dramatic black hall.

Visitors to Marrakech also enjoy heading to the quiet cool of the surrounding mountain valleys. It is the perfect contrast to the thrillingly frantic energy of the Medina and the buzz of its museums, palaces and gardens. After a delicious Moroccan feast around Djemaa El Fna, you can trek up Northern Africa’s highest peak, Mount Toubkal or enjoy a surprising experience of North African skiing at Oukaimeden. The Atlas Mountains are sprinkled with pretty villages, beautiful waterfalls and dramatic viewpoints. Imlil is a popular hub to start exploring, and the Bureau des Guides d’Imlil can arrange guides. You will enjoy unforgettable day trips, visit traditional villages, taste delicious food, and enjoy the fabulous scenery and a mesmerising mix of Berber, Arabian and European cultural influences.

Families adore Dar Laadem, its incredible grounds and its endless list of treats. Children love the gardens, pool, boules area, tennis, table tennis and games. It is a fabulous pick to bring the generations together and spend quality time with family.

The thrilling Oasiria Waterpark is within easy reach of the villa. It offers eight swimming pools, twenty thrilling attractions and seventeen slides. One of the attractions, Aquaroc, is the first climbing wall in Africa. It is 25m long by 5m high and offers three courses, initiation, improvement and training. The waterpark sits in ten hectares of landscaped gardens sprinkled with ponds, paths, flowerbeds, century-old olive trees, desert crossings, palms, wooden pontoons, streams and colourful flowers, and there are five restaurants. There is even a kids club for six to nine-year-olds and nine to twelve-year-olds with meals and snacks included. These are run by experienced leads which offer supervised swimming, treasure hunts, fairs, toboggan competitions, climbing on the Aquaroc, beach soccer, water games, tug of war, football and more. The wonderful Eden Aquapark is another popular family pick. It boasts endless rides, slides, swimming pools, a river, a beach for little pirates, entertainment and a luxurious hotel attached to it. It is a giant aquapark that offers a world of water entertainment.

Marrakech offers a long list of family entertainment, from cooking classes to mule rides and shopping experiences. The Amal Women’s Centre offers cooking classes for kids. Marrakech offers many gardens that are just lovely. Harti Jardin and Cyper Park are great for good walks. There are two small amusement parks for younger children, Ludipark and Paloozaland. Ludipark offers bouncy castles, pony rides, a mini zoo and an aquapark. Paloozaland offers a dinosaur theme and enjoys several rides, a 6D cinema, a swimming pool and live shows. There are always camels near the Menara Gardens which kids can ride. If you want more of a desert camel ride, you can take a taxi or arrange a ride through your riad to the Palmeraie. Another popular trip is to the Moulay Hassan racetrack on the edge of Marrakech for some kart racing. Moroccans make tea very well, so you can arrange a wonderful afternoon tea at the Royal Mansour. Kids also enjoy getting a henna tattoo or seeing a Fantasia Show. Chez Ali is a show that has been going for years and includes dinner as well as performances with horse riders and music. You will see horse carriages everywhere though you might want to check if the horses look well cared for.

Terres d’Amanar is a zipline park roughly forty-five minutes outside of Marrakech. There are activities for all ages, with a pool and lunch included. Children love heading for the Atlas Mountains and enjoying stops at the village of Imlil, where they can enjoy mule rides and see the waterfalls. The Ourika Valley is another fabulous trip where kids can play in the shallow Ouritka River and hike to the waterfalls.

The Anima Gardens are lovely, with lots of sculptures as well as natural fauna. You can buy a timed ticket which helps to ensure that the gardens are not too crowded. There are shuttles to and from the city.

  • La maison est très bien entretenue

    on 05/05/2023

    on 17/02/2023

  • Magnifique maison

    on 17/11/2022

Magnifique maison, personnel incroyable très bonne expérience
    Un peu loin du centre

  • La maison est magnifique

    on 22/10/2022

  • The Villa was amazing

    on 15/10/2022

The Villa was amazing. We had the pool heated due to the time of year and glad we did as we spent a lot of time here. The house staff sorted all of our food and drink and cooked some lovely food. The Tennis court was really great to have and we had an excellent Tennis coach visit us Three times during the week. The Villa facilities were lovely and everything was very modern. The staff were very discreet and wouldn't have known they were there. Villanovo concierge also very helpful with everything we needed.

The location was a little remote. Any trips into Marrakech was 30+ minutes. To be honest this is just a small thing but did make it a barrier to visiting due to the cost of taxis. I also found the cost a little high for the food & drink. We had stayed in a similar villa before and just paid for receipts whereas this was a set cost for lunch, dinner & wine/beer. Also if you are choosing this option the Villa manager wanted cash which we hadn't know and therefore caused a lot of frustration on the last day working out a payment process.
