Location
About the surrounding area of Villa TanishaMarrakech, a mesmerizing city nestled in the heart of Morocco, exudes an irresistible blend of history, culture, and vibrant energy. With its labyrinthine medina, bustling souks, and enchanting architecture, Marrakech stands as a captivating gateway to North African allure.
The city's beating heart lies within the historic medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where narrow alleyways wind their way through an intricate tapestry of palaces, riads, and mosques. The medina's pièce de résistance is the iconic Jemaa el-Fnaa square, a bustling hub of activity where snake charmers, storytellers, and exotic stalls coalesce in a sensory symphony. As the sun sets, the square transforms into a lively carnival of lights, aromas, and music, casting an enchanting spell on both locals and visitors alike.
Marrakech's architectural splendour is magnificently showcased in its palaces and gardens. The Bahia Palace, adorned with ornate stucco and intricate mosaics, whispers tales of the opulent lives led by its former inhabitants. The Saadian Tombs, hidden for centuries, unveil a serene necropolis adorned with delicate carvings and tranquil courtyards.
The city's soul lies within its souks, a labyrinth of markets that unveil an endless array of treasures – from hand-woven textiles and traditional leather goods to fragrant spices and gleaming lanterns. Bargaining is an art form here, and engaging with the local vendors is a delightful way to immerse oneself in the rhythm of Marrakech.
For moments of reprieve, the Majorelle Garden offers a serene oasis. This vibrant sanctuary, once owned by Yves Saint Laurent, is a haven of cobalt blue buildings, exotic flora, and tranquil pools – a testament to Marrakech's fusion of creativity and natural beauty.
Marrakech's allure extends beyond its historic core. Glimpses of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains provide a dramatic backdrop, and nearby oases and palm groves beckon for exploration. Whether savouring a traditional tagine dish, wandering the serene Menara Gardens, or admiring the architectural grandeur of the Koutoubia Mosque, the city's cultural richness and kaleidoscope of experiences never cease to captivate.
Intriguing, vibrant, and steeped in tradition, Marrakech offers a remarkable journey into the heart of Morocco's mystique. With each step through its bustling streets and hidden alleys, the city weaves an unforgettable tapestry of memories long after departure.

Best Suited For: All AgesChildren will love a holiday at Villa Tanisha, there are vast safe open spaces to run around, places to hide, and of course hours to spend in the pool each day. However, holidays are meant for having fun that you can’t have at home!
Close by is the amazing Waky Marrakech, a water-ski lift installed on an artificial lake on the edge of the river Ourika, the first cable park in Morocco. The lake was specially designed for water skiing and wakeboarding (a combination of water-skiing, snowboarding and surfing). There is a great range of activities and skill sessions on offer for all abilities. If water sports aren’t for you relax at the beach club, enjoy the stunning views and laugh as others fall over while you chill on the comfortable beds by the pool.
The magical city of Marrakech will capture the imagination of children of any age, it's a completely different world just waiting to be explored. Take a tour by horse-drawn carriage to see the vibrant Old City, looking out for palaces and souks, a great way to explore the city without tiring out little (and long) legs. Return in the early evening to visit the great open square of Djemaa el Fna to watch the acrobats and magicians, and of course sample from the many food stalls.
A day out into the desert is a memorable experience for all the family. If you’re keen to ride a camel while in Marrakech why not take a guided tour? you can combine this with a quad biking experience and have the best of fun days. Usually, a Berber village visit and delicious tagine, bread and salad lunch is included.
You are taken to a camel station just outside the city where you climb onto your camel wearing a supplied headscarf to protect you from the blowing sands. Then, enjoy a round-trip camel trek, riding in convoy to a traditional village near the palm groves. After lunch back at the base, it’s time to hop onto a quad bike for a spin along desert tracks passing small villages and farms as you zip around the rugged countryside. Then it’s time to return to the villa and enjoy recounting the tales of the day over dinner.
