This modern home, near the small village Santa Barbara de Nexe, has been delightfully transformed from the inside out, showcasing a mix of new elements while paying homage to its traditional Algarvian roots. Ideal for a family villa holiday in Portugal, Casa Agostos can also be booked with its nearby sister property, Casa Luum, for a large group getaway in the heart of the idyllic Algarve countryside.
Casa Agostos has been designed by award-winning Lisbon-based architects, Pedro Domingos Arquitectos, who have used their expert knowledge to give the villa a minimalist and elegant feel, dominated by fresh white walls and strong, clean lines. The concrete structure also gives a subtle nod to the origins of the property - set back on an unassuming dirt road, Casa Agostos has humble roots, but has been majestically refurbished and extended into a stylish villa that feels at one with the surrounding landscape.
The property has three double bedrooms which can sleep up to six guests, as well two large bathrooms with luxury walk-in showers and bathtubs. An additional, new wing is home to a spacious living room with a cosy fireplace, perfect for gathering around during cooler evenings. Elsewhere, a fully-equipped kitchen makes family entertaining easy and enjoyable - a high-chair is provided for guests' use too.
Outside, a 15-m pool is surrounded by beautiful lawns. Spend the day relaxing at Casa Agostos in one of the many outdoor spaces the property boasts - the patios, terraces, or rooftop deck, which offers impressive views of the gardens and further countryside.
Casa Agostos is nestled in a nature reserve, and the property gardens have also been designed with this in mind. The villa is surrounded by hundreds of olive, almond and cork trees, native to this area of Portugal. Enjoy alfresco dinners on the patio and marvel at the environment surrounding Casa Agostos. About the surrounding area of Casa AgostosSet in the heart of the Algarve countryside, Casa Agostos is a five minutes drive from Santa Barbara de Nexe, a small but convenient village with a selection of shops, bars, and restaurants.
Head 20 minutes towards the coast, and you’ll be treated to some of the best beaches in the Algarve. Soft white sand, waves that are perfect for both swimming and surfing, and ample coves for you to explore. The closest, Praia da Falésia, was recently named one of the best beaches in Europe by the TripAdvisor 2021 Travellers’ Choice Awards. Backdropped by striking cliffs, this stunning beach also has a lifeguard.
If you’re a keen golfer (or eager to try!), you’re in luck - Casa Agostos is just a 10-15 minute drive away from some world-class golf courses. Live the life of a professional and try your hand on the Quinta do Lago courses, considered among many to be Portugal’s finest, and home to a number of international golfing championships.

THE REGION
Almancil, a charming, tranquil town in the Algarve region of Portugal, is a gorgeous hidden gem waiting to be explored by visitors seeking a mix of history, culture and beauty. With its rich history, picturesque surroundings, pottery and famous church, Almancil offers a unique experience for visitors of all ages.
For those who enjoy the great outdoors, Almancil's location near the Ria Formosa Natural Park provides ample opportunities for hiking, bird-watching and appreciating the area's diverse ecosystem. The park is a haven for wildlife and you will spot various bird species and other animals in their natural habitat while hiking, cycling or boating.
Almancil is conveniently located, making it an excellent base for exploring the Algarve. Just a short drive away, you will find the lively upmarket resort town of Vilamoura, known for its marina, vibrant nightlife, casino and beautiful beaches. Faro, the capital of the Algarve, is also nearby, offering historical sites and a charming old town.

Best Suited For: All AgesCasa Agostos is a superb place to have your family villa holiday in Portugal. The property comes equipped with a crib and highchair, as well as kids’ DVDs to keep them more than entertained throughout the evening too.
The villa’s setting and vast size is also a natural playground for your little ones. They’ll love exploring the 2,500 square metre plot of a nature reserve that Casa Agostos is in, running wild around the trees, plants, and other wonderful wildlife.
The location of the property is also perfect for a kid-friendly holiday. Head to the coast and the Algarve’s stunning beaches, for an easy and relaxing family day out. If your children are more the adventurous type, there’s also a range of watersports and even surfing lessons for them to get involved in. They won’t be bored, that’s for sure!
Water babies will also love the nearby aquaparks, guaranteed fun for the entire family. There’s Aqualand, Aquashow, Slide & Splash, and more - take your pick! There are also attractions that allow your little ones to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience with their favourite aquatic creatures. Head to the likes of Zoomarine or Krazy World Zoo to come up close and personal with these impressive animals.
For a unique day out that is child-friendly, we recommend Fonte Benemola. A walking trail that passes through protected woodland, the route contains numerous boards explaining the geographical uniqueness of the area and wildlife to watch out for. Bring a picnic to make the most of the day.
Casa Agostos is also close by to Loule, home to colourful markets and ideal for shopping, thanks to the addition of the large mall, Mar Shopping. As well as stores and restaurants, the mall also has a children’s playground and cinema, making it a great spot if you do want to escape the sun and heat for a day. The best part? It’s only ten minutes away by car.

Great interior and exterior equipment
Casa Agostos - a perfect combination of appealing and thoughtful architecture for us. We felt very well there, among other things, due to the great interior and exterior equipment and the good accessibility at the same time quiet location. The garden with shady olive trees, the stylish pool and the roof terrace as well as the rural panorama seduce to spend the whole day there. It can also be reached within 30 to 60 minutes some interesting places and discover different facets of the Algarve. Kristoff and his team provided us with great tips and were always available for questions. Thanks for the great time in this beautiful house!

Out of the ordinary
We spent 18 days in Casa Agostos. One of the best houses we ever rented. Picked up and introduced by Nele, a very sympatic Belgic woman. We felt home in this house from the first moment. Very clean with tasteful interior and modern architecture and all amenities. Very good located with nice cities and all shopping possibilities in 10 car minutes distance. Although everything was running properly, we knew in case of any questions Nele and her husband Fred would be always easy to reach. A house out of the ordinary in a very beautiful surrounding.

It was a fantastic, beautiful dreamhouse in the middle of nature, calm and relaxing, beautiful view, fantastic pool, a great piece of architecture. We really recommend it to everybody. We had our best holiday ever!

We just spent a week in Casa Agostos with our family of 4 (2 adults & 2 kids). The house is really stunning, no points for improvement!!! We all loved the design of the villa in&outside, the garden is a great + when you have children. The architecture is well thought through, the different terraces can be used throughout the day. Perfect location for visiting some beaches & cultural escapes. Also nearby a big supermarket, about 10 minutes drive. The pool is amazing not only 2 cool down but also 2 exercise a bit if you have the urge :-)! We had an unforgettable week in a picture perfect villa and absolutely recommend it to everybody!!

The garden and pool are a gem
We just spent a week in Casa Agostos. The architecture is simply stunning and the villa is located in a tranquil area with a beautiful view not too far from the Seaside (15 min drive). The villa, both interior and exterior breathes design and is very well tended. The big metal panel sliding doors are inspired by local rural architecture and are beautiful, but also keep the villa cool during hot summer days. There are several terraces including 2 rooftops. The garden and pool are a gem. We absolutely loved spending our holidays in this relaxed atmosphere.

The pool looks like an art installation
During Easter time 2018 we had a great and relaxed time in the Casa Agostos. The architectural aesthetics enriched our stay enormously. It’s a great pleasure to stay in the cubic forms and take a look at the garden and the wonderful landscape. The pool looks like an art installation.
