ABOUT THE ALGARVE
Though most people tend to see the Algarve as all about the beaches and a holiday on the Med, there’s far much more to it than that. There’s actually a load of fascinating culture and history, superb cuisine and enthralling adventures to be had, though we’d be the first to admit that the beaches are pretty special too, with lots of sand, spectacle and wonderfully clean water.
But while you’re enjoying one of our fantastic villas in Algarve, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we’ve put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesLoule is also appropriate for younger children as it is equipped with a series of fun and adventurous attractions that the whole family will love. Aquashow Park is one of the most popular and largest attractions in the region and can be found just 10 minutes away from the villa. Packed full of riveting water slides, chutes, and splash pads, children are free to rekindle their sense of adventure and explore the nuances of this park at their own pace. One of the park’s most thrilling attractions is the White Fall, an immense water slide that drops guests from a great height and plunges them into Portugal’s largest wave pool. If water slides are not for you, this park also offers a range of animal activities to help children reconnect with the true wonders of nature.
Museu de Carro da Vila is an archaic excavation site that has been occupied by humans since the Bronze Age. Despite its far-reaching legacy, it was the Romans who helped to transform this small patch of land into a bustling city. Thus, guests have the prime opportunity to observe the remains of two traditional villas alongside a plethora of distinctive mosaics. Guests can also examine a vast and authentic bathhouse, giving them a better understanding of how this quaint area managed to thrive and overcome adversity under Roman rule. Museu de Carro da Vila can be found just over 15 minutes away from Oasis Algarve.
Vilamoura Marina is an extremely bustling and enticing attraction, making it an unmissable location to visit during your time in this region. After its inauguration in 1974, this marina can now host over 1000 boats, making it a keen attraction for avid local fishermen. Alongside its profitable selection of industries, this marina also presents a glamorous selection of tourist attractions, including boutique shops, exquisite dining establishments, and artisan retailers. Thus, this is a great place to visit if you are looking to soak up the delightful native atmosphere and purchase an abundance of souvenirs to show off back home. Vilamoura Marina is based just under 20 minutes away from the villa.
