Pool Villa/House Beach Nearby Ideal for Kids Hot Tub

Located between the Algarve villages of Carvoeiro and Ferragudo, Villa Balei enjoys a wonderful ocean view from its clifftop position. Warmly decorated with elegant touches, this 4-bedroom villa can accommodate up to eight guests and sits just 1km from the beach.

Found in Vale da Lapa, Villa Balei has all the features you could want for a decadently relaxed break in the sun. The heated outdoor pool with Roman steps gives you both a beautiful ocean view and a high degree of privacy, shaded by the many trees which stretch down to the waterside. Next, to an extensive row of sun loungers with parasols, a private hot tub is another great option for an evening soak.

Steps lead you up to a spacious terrace with a variety of seating and dining areas – you have a built-in barbecue and a hammock as well. Inside, the main living area is accessible via patio doors, ensuring the great views continue. This elegantly furnished space also includes a dining area for eight, and you have a separate, well-equipped kitchen on the same floor. Complete with a dishwasher, microwave, and a large fridge and freezer, it has everything you could need.

Two en suite bedrooms downstairs and complemented by a further two bedrooms upstairs, along with another bathroom and a small kitchen.

Nearby Carvoeiro is a popular resort with great nightlife and opportunities to sample the local food and drink. Its beaches include centrally-located Praia do Carvalho, Praia de Benagil and the stunning Praia da Marinha. You can really savor the breathtaking views from the clifftop Carvoeiro Boardwalk.

Ferragudo is another picturesque place well worth visiting, with more great beaches and stunning views. Down by the lighthouse, enjoy the sight of Portimão across the Arade River and the mountains of Monchique. There are golf and tennis clubs nearby too, making this an excellent location if you want to get active.

With some of the most stunning beaches on the Algarve in the vicinity, Carvoeiro is a town well worth discovering. It has developed a compelling offer to visitors, with a good range of restaurants, bars, and amenities amongst the traditional whitewashed buildings of its centre, and beautiful sightseeing opportunities in all directions.

Rugged cliff and secluded coves give the beaches of Carvoeiro plenty of character, with notable rock formations that have become attractions themselves. You can take a boat trip to see the caves of Praia de Benagil, where a circular ‘eye’ opening gives sight of a small beach hidden inside. Praia da Marinha, a short distance east, is considered to be one of the world’s most beautiful beaches, with incredibly transparent waters, and Praia da Carvoeiro, closest to the town itself, is a very pleasing spot too.

Along the clifftop, you can admire Carvoeiro’s enviable surroundings from the boardwalk – many of the caves along the coast are visible from this vantage point. Another notable sight is the beautiful Alfanzina Lighthouse, and you may also come across the A Boneca restaurant. While there are many places to eat in Carvoeiro, not all can boast the incredible location of this one, amongst the rocks and caves, giving it an unrivaled ocean view.

South of mountainous Monchique, at around 50 minutes’ drive from Faro Airport, Carvoeiro enjoys a great location west of that city. Well clear of the hedonism of the Albufeira strip, the resort has beautiful Portimão just 10km away, with its stunning marina and excellent shopping facilities, and golf courses and theme parks close by. You may also be tempted to take to the water in Carvoeiro, with windsurfing, kayaking and sailing all possibilities. Lively bars and nightlife are plentiful, but if you would rather chill out, the cool vibes of Manoel’s Jazz Club could well entice you.

THE REGION

Carvoeiro has always been known for its beautiful coastline, adorned with cliffs, coves and incredible sandy beaches stretching all the way along to Albufeira. These days, however, there is a lot more going on in this charming town than just waves hitting the sand (although that’s certainly still a highlight).

In the past few years Carvoeiro has developed to accommodate for the growing number of tourists who are curious to see what the fuzz is all about, and the town continues to get livelier and livelier each summer. While it has kept its character and remains exquisitely peaceful, there are also plenty of modern amenities and loads of exciting activities in the area. The only thing Carvoeiro won’t provide is a good party, but there are other parts of the Algarve which are perfect for that.
