Overview
Located just 2km from the heart of Estoi, Villa Alecrim is a magnificent country estate with incredible facilities and beautiful surroundings. The estate is accessed via a small rural track through pretty gates leading into the grounds and parking area. Arranged over two separate villas and six bedrooms altogether, this incredible property accommodates up to twelves guests comfortably, making it the perfect choice for large families, groups of friends or multiple couples seeking a slice of rural luxury.
Both villas have a rustic yet luxurious country feel, with high ceilings, exposed beams, rustic stone flooring and traditional features throughout. The main villa has a large and fully equipped kitchen, with state of the art appliances and a lovely central island. There is also a generous wooden dining table that seats eight and looks out onto the beautiful garden area. The kitchen/dining area flows into a very spacious and grand living area, with plenty of comfortable seating, a flat screen TV and direct access to the outdoor area via sliding glass doors.
The other villa, built on a slightly lower level, has a slightly smaller but very similar kitchen with the same dining table, and a unique glass atrium that sits in the middle of the room. The living room in this villa is equally as spacious, with a vaulted ceiling, a lovely fireplace and a flat screen TV. There is also a games room in the basement with a snooker table for guest’s entertainment. The entire living areas are air conditioned throughout, and also have underfloor heating for the cooler months.
Both villas have two twin rooms and one double bedroom; the double and one twin bedroom have their own private bathroom, while the third bedroom uses the main bathroom. The gorgeous bedrooms have all been decorated with muted and neutral colours and each have their own flat screen TVs, where guests can relax and recharge. The bathrooms are all very modern, spacious and well-equipped.
The outdoor living space is just as generous as indoors; the stunning gardens have been beautifully landscaped and maintained, with a huge variety of exotic plants, bushes and trees. The huge infinity pool sits centre stage, with an adjoining smaller half moon-shaped pool, perfect for the younger kids! With plenty of indulgent sun loungers around the pool, guests can top up their tan with a good book in hand while the kids splash about. If alfresco dining is your thing, you’re in luck at Villa Alecrim - there are numerous outdoor dining areas for guests to choose from, as well as a built-in barbecue. With its incredible facilities, an abundance of space and stunning surroundings, Villa Alecrim is a truly unique and beautiful property that offers guests a stay they won’t forget.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa AlecrimVilla Alecrim is located just 2km from the centre of Estoi, a small Parish, or community, in the Algarve offering shops, bars and restaurants, with a great atmosphere and good food. An ideal destination if you are in search of a luxury holiday villa in coastal Portugal. The nearest beach is a mere 11.6km away, and there is also a regular and inexpensive bus service connecting Faro with Estoi, which means that this delightful town is easily accessible for all travellers.
Estoi is the location for one of the Algarve finest 19th century “Rococo” styled palaces. The Palácio de Estoi is painted a distinctive pink colour and is surrounded by beautiful and decorative gardens. Steeped in antiquity, the Milreu Ruins also showcase Roman architecture dating back to 1 AD. More recent history provides visitors with the opportunity to enjoy Palacio de Estoi, which is noted as one of the more poignant historic gardens in Portugal. The premises were erected in the 18th Century and showcase impressive grounds, as well as architecture and art that is synonymous with the era.
Estoi is a few kilometres from the clamour of Faro and therefore provides a more serene setting in the foothills. Estoi is home to a number of quaint local services, that resemble more of an authentic Portuguese holiday experience. Picture old men sitting in cafes (or benches) all day long, women gossiping and nothing much happening during the heat of the day. Estoi has a very different atmosphere than the popular coastal towns, a relaxed atmosphere that is best experienced in the cafes and open air restaurants.
The beautiful Algarve beaches are also not far away, where guests can snorkel, go on boating excursions and try new watersports! Popular tourist resorts such as Vale do Lobo, Quinta do Lago and Vilamoura are easily accessible by car; here, guests will find a huge array of restaurants, both upmarket at modest, as well as golf courses, tennis courts and fantastic shopping opportunities.

THE REGION
Estoi is a fascinating little town hidden away a few kilometres from the Algarve coastline. It makes for a perfect home base while exploring the region, although there is not much going on in the village itself.
Estoi is simple and picturesque, with cobbled streets, whitewashed houses and terracotta roofs. You can begin your exploration of the region’s history right here with the Palácio de Estoi, an exquisite rose-coloured rococo palace which is open to the public and nowadays run as a hotel.
Close by there are also the ruins of a Roman villa dating all the way back to the 2nd century AD. But most of what you’ll be doing in the village of Estoi is relaxing and looking on as local life goes around you, as well as travelling to explore the Algarve on your own terms.
ABOUT THE ALGARVE
Though most people tend to see the Algarve as all about the beaches and a holiday on the Med, there’s far much more to it than that.
But while you’re enjoying one of our fantastic villas in Algarve, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we’ve put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesVilla Alecrim is perfect for those with children; a cot and highchair can be provided upon request, and the bedrooms can be configured to suit families. The outdoor area provides plenty of space for outdoor activities, and the private pool offers a prime space for children to have fun and tire themselves out, while you look on from the comfort of a sun lounger, ensuring you have an opportunity to relax whilst keeping an eye on the little ones.
The family-friendly environment of the Algarve means that children are welcomed wherever they go. There are plenty of children’s play areas and activities in Vale do Lobo, including golf, tennis, diving, canoeing, cycling and sailing boat rental. On your doorstep, you will find endless opportunities for an active day out Iberian sun, while the location on one of the best beach areas of the Algarve ensures you can enjoy a traditional family day trip to the beach, where snorkelling, boating excursions and thrilling watersports are all on offer.
There is the fantastic Zoomarine waterpark located in Guia; with several restaurants on the complex and plenty of green space to kick back, mums and dads can have a well earned break while the kids amuse themselves on the big wheel, log flume and pirate ship: the ideal way to spend a day out. Slide and Splash, located in Estômbar, is full of spiralling water chutes and slides as well as river rapids and a giant jacuzzi. Aquashow another waterpark, located in Quarteira, also offers bird of prey and parrot shows, mini golf and a wax museum.
Visit Krazy World Zoo in Algoz, where there are not only animals to look at but lots of activities to get involved in too. Feeding times are always popular, as are the reptile shows. Kids can have a go at pony riding, play mini golf, take a dip in the tropical pools or enjoy some time at the little funfair. It is easy to spend a whole day at this popular attraction. For the speed demons, there is a fun go karting centre located very close to the villa!
