Overview
This stunning and modern villa is found in Portugal’s beautiful southwest coast in Sagres. Villa Veiga’s sleek and elegant design coupled with a private garden and pool will make for the perfect setting for your next family getaway or holiday escape with friends. Imagine yourself lounging in the sun, occasionally dipping into the pool to cool yourself off, maybe setting up the outdoor BBQ for a freshly cooked dinner outside with friends, enjoying a sangria or two.
As we enter the house from the backyard we are presented with a calming and minimalist lounge room with two super comfortable couches to sink into after a day at the beach. This lounge then opens into an informal dining room and kitchen, creating a lovely open dynamic where conversations can continue from kitchen to lounge. The kitchen, whilst humble in size, is still well equipped with dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine and a juicer all waiting to be used. The two generously sized bedrooms can be split into two twin beds or pushed together into a double bed making them flexible for any sleeping condition. One of the bedrooms features an ensuite bathroom with a luxurious walk-in shower, whilst the other boasts views and an entrance out onto the backyard and pool. An additional spacious bathroom also features a modern and sleek style with a walk-in shower. There is a cot and highchair available for if you have little ones that need an extra bit of help! The Villa is also all one level, which makes it suitable for someone who may struggle with stairs and/or mobility.
One of the amazing perks of this villa is the air conditioning found in the bedrooms and in the lounge, allowing you to escape the heat and feel fully relaxed inside the villa. Feeling lethargic? Take a day to just enjoy this beautiful space, use the TV with access to international channels, rest in the shade on the outdoor lounges or take your towel out to the perfectly manicured grass, enjoying some respite in the cool pool when you get too hot from the sun. Villa Veiga has all you could need to fully relax and enjoy your dream holiday with either your family or friends (why not both!)

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa VeigaLocated in the stunning Southwest corner of Algarve, Villa Veiga is nestled into the lovely town of Sagres. This area is known for its beautiful coastlines, cliffs, and beaches, perfect for surfing. It is home to the Sagres fort, built to defend the Portuguese coast 600 years ago and will hold a lot of interest for those interested in history.
Sagres' remote feel is unique, giving a different touristic vibe than some of the bigger surrounding towns. This quality makes Sagres feel like you are truly escaping far away from the city and all its chaos, making it the perfect destination to get away and truly relax. No matter your interest, you will find something to love in Sagres. Enjoy being outdoors and in nature? Challenge yourself to one of the many hikes that start from the town and trek across the beautiful cliffs or cross over the interior of Algarve! Sagres have hikes available for all ranges, so bring your kids along for some quality family time! If you're more of a water baby, consider surfing at one of the many beaches where the waves are constantly rolling in! Sagres is one of the best surfing points in Portugal, which is one of the main reasons tourists visit. The beaches of Sagres can accommodate those new to surfing through to experienced surf bums! This is because some beaches are more sheltered than others – so make sure you research what beaches are best for your ability.
Your closest sand beach is Praia do Martinhal, a short five min drive will take you to a stunning sand beach where you can set yourself up for the day, hire a lounge and umbrella for the day, or lay your towels out and bask in the sun, play a bit of beach cricket, and swim in the refreshing ocean. If you’re not a fan of sand, there is also a public pool nearby where you can swim and relax without getting sand everywhere!
The location of Villa Veiga is outstanding, with shops and restaurants all within walking distance to you. A short three-minute drive will take you to a delicious restaurant called Three Little Birds, where you can find gourmet burgers and juicy tacos, all with an excellent contemporary twist. Vegetarians and vegans will be happy, as plenty of options are available, all sounding mouth-watering. You simply must check out Picnic Sagres for a morning coffee and brunch! Their modern and hip design will lure you in, and their delicious bagels, speciality coffee and natural wines will make this your 'local' shop whilst you stay here! Why not pop in on your way down to Praia da Mareta; another more intimate, sandy beach you could visit during your stay.
If you're a fan of sunsets (who isn't?), you cannot miss the sunset at Cape São Vicente. Bring a beer or bottle of wine and settle on the rocks to watch the sunset over the water. You can also see the local lighthouse and some amazing views of the Atlantic Ocean. This location is only a short ten-minute drive away from Villa Veiga.

THE REGION
Sagres sits at the southwestern tip of the beautiful Algarve coast, where it calls out to holidaymakers looking to get a little bit closer to nature. The town and its surroundings are perfectly tranquil, making this destination ideal for those travelling with children who best enjoy beach and outdoor fun.
The town is inviting and personable, but it’s certainly not the liveliest spot on the coast. Sagres mostly has its seaside location to thank for being a hub among avid surfers, who bring life to an otherwise sleepy village.
Barely a stone’s throw from its centre, you’ll come across plenty of lovely and sheltered beaches, where you can relax in the sun and soak in the stillness. Since the area is much less crowded than central Algarve, you couldn’t find a better place for that laid-back getaway you’ve been longing for.
ABOUT THE ALGARVE
Though most people tend to see the Algarve as all about the beaches and a holiday on the Med, there’s far much more to it than that.
But while you’re enjoying one of our fantastic villas in Algarve, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we’ve put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesVilla Veiga is the perfect place for a little family getaway. The private garden is great for kicking the soccer ball around, and the pool is fantastic for them to play a game of marco-polo. The dining table would be a great location to set them up with some colouring or a family monopoly game. The villa is all on one level, so you don't need to worry about stairs, and there is a cot and a highchair available for younger ones that might need extra attention. The Villa has satellite tv, so set them up with a movie, whilst you enjoy a glass of wine outside on a warm evening.
If your kids are active and have a lot of energy, why not take them for a surfing lesson! Plenty of surf schools here offer lessons for beginners for both young children and teens. Challenge them to try something new and have fun (even better – why not join them!)
If you're a family with young teens, why not go on a hike together? You can take plenty of different hikes that range from easy to difficult, and many of them have signs to keep you on track. You can choose to walk along the coastline and see the amazing coasts or to walk inland and see more of Portugal's countryside. Hiking is a great activity that doesn't involve the beach, so pack some snacks and a bottle of water and explore this beautiful coastline on foot.
Spend a day at Praia do Martinhal; not only is this your closest beach, it is also the most sheltered beach in Sagres. This means there are fewer waves and it is calmer than the other surf beaches. Set up for the day, build sandcastles, jump the waves, and enjoy a relaxed day at the beach. There are two restaurants near this beach, so you can escape the heat at midday or stay until dinner and watch the sunset.

Lovely villa
Lovely villa, convenient for shops and town. Perhaps not as a glamorous an area as we were expecting, but very friendly.

We had a great stay!
We had a great short week's stay here in Sagres! Clean and nice house with a lovely garden and pool with view over the fields. Walking distance to rest of Sagres. The host Maria was very helpful, kind, and easy to plan with. Will go here again when coming back to Sagres!
