Overview
Within moments of the beach and boasting beautiful sea views, Villa Rosario is a contemporary and family-friendly holiday home on the Sintra coast.
Classic furnishings and a neutral décor create a warm and comfortable base for enjoying time with the family. Villa Rosario is ideally located, being within walking distance of the fine sands at Praia Grande and a range of restaurants and bars.
The villa’s spacious accommodation is set over three floors. On the ground floor is a beautiful open plan space with living and dining areas. Sitting close to a modern fireplace and television are a colourful choice of sofas and chairs in which to unwind and relax with the family in the evenings.
Sharing the space is a large, classic dining table that’s ideally positioned to take in garden and sea views and allows access to the outside space via patio doors. Next door is a modern kitchen with all the facilities you could need for preparing and cooking meals.
A breakfast bar is ideal for quick breakfasts or simply chatting over a coffee. There are four bedrooms on this floor. The master bedroom features a double bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower. Two bedrooms have two single beds each, with one being a drawer bed.
A bedroom with twin beds completes the sleeping accommodation to this floor. All bedrooms share the use of a lovely family bathroom with shower and bathtub.
On the first floor is a large bedroom with double bed, en-suite bathroom with shower and terrace access. There’s also a comfortable office that gives you the chance to catch up on work or check your emails.
To the lower floor is a cosy living room with direct access to the swimming pool area. There’s also a small kitchen and two bedrooms. One bedroom has twin beds and the other a double bed. There’s a bathroom with shower for use by all guests.
Terraces feature outdoor furniture for dining and relaxing, with the dining area being under an attractive porch. There’s also a kitchenette and barbecue that makes al fresco dining easy and enjoyable.
A small swimming pool has a decked area and sun loungers and stairs beside it lead down to the main pool that also enjoys a decked area with sun beds as well as a small table and chairs.
The views of the sea from here are breathtaking and you’ll be able to appreciate just how close the villa is to the beach. There are peaceful lawned areas and also within the extensive garden is a court that’s suitable for playing both tennis and football.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa RosarioWithin moments of stepping out the front door of the villa you'll be strolling along by the sea on a golden beach. Praia Grande is popular with locals and tourists alike, and the strong waves make for some excellent surfing conditions.
There’s plenty of space on the sand for the children to play games and come in and out of the beautiful sea as you unwind on a sun lounger. Dramatic cliffs are home to some fascinating trails where you can spot dinosaur footprints.
Adjacent to the beach is Praia Pequena and between the two is a large outdoor saltwater swimming pool.
The town of Sintra is approximately a 12 km drive from the villa and will take you around 20 minutes to reach. Nestled within the pine-covered foothills of the Sintra mountains, this enchanting town is well worth a visit for its fairytale feel and romantic architecture.
One of the most impressive of the many villas and palaces in the area is Pena Palace. Built in the 19th century on the site of an old monastery, the building sits majestically upon a hilltop that offers stunning views over the Sinta-Cascais Natural Park that surrounds it.
Back in the historic centre of the town, there are plenty of quaint shops selling local goods to explore as you walk through the narrow streets. Finding somewhere to stop for lunch or simply a coffee is easy, with a large choice of cafes and restaurants on offer.
Portugal's capital, Lisbon, is just under an hour away from the villa and provides a livelier city experience with its thriving nightlife and culture.

THE REGION
Thinking about packing your bags and heading off to Portugal? Why not give Colares a go? A real gem of a place, it’s one of the best spots on the Lisbon Coast for a holiday. Colares is absolutely delightful and has long been a very popular summer resort.
In the environs of Colares are the beaches of Praia das Maças, Praia Grande and Adraga, and the typical village of Azenhas do Mar, with its whitewashed houses inset in the side of a cliff.
Colares is also a demarcated wine-growing region, producing the very popular and increasingly rare Colares wine, which can be tasted at the Adega Regional, in a very beautiful building in the town centre.
ABOUT THE LISBON COAST
The Lisbon Coast is a sensational stretch of golden beaches, wave-lashed cliffs and vibrant seaside towns – but there's more to the Atlantic coastline than that. Delve beneath the surface to discover hidden coves, family-owned seafood restaurants and pristine natural parks.
The coast around Lisbon provides an easy, breezy escape from the capital, whose proximity has made it the stomping ground of kings for the last 1,000 years. In summer, Lisboistas stream into elegant Comporta and Cascais to escape the heat of the city; year-round, surfers hang loose on the coast, waiting for the rollers to crash down on the sand.
But while you're enjoying one of our fantastic villas on Lisbon Coast, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we've put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!

Around a 20-minute drive from the villa is Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra, one of the town's most popular attractions.
Children of all ages will love exploring the palace's grounds in particular.
There are old ruins and towers to climb, as well as caves and underground walkways with tunnels that lead to an old well and a beautiful waterfall.

A Week of Wow Moments!
Wow. wow. wow. This property is truly one of a kind! With the spacious living quarters, and gathering spaces, to the pristine sunsets and the insanely beautiful tennis court and pools, make this place a unreal. We thoroughly enjoyed our week long vacation there, with nice morning walks to the beach (although a direct path from the property would make it a 20/10!), sunset tennis matches, and convenient day trips to so many wonderful towns. If you're with a large group, this is the best!! Elisabete was our contact during the trip, and she was so attentive to any request, questions, and responded so quickly!

Fantastic villa, great location
This is a fantastic villa in an amazing location, just a few minutes walk from the sea and some very good restaurants. The view from the terrace and the sun decks by the 2 swimming pools is stunning and a great place to watch the daily sunsets. The villa is about 15-20 minutes drive from Cascais and Sintra with good restaruants, shops and local markets all closer. Lisbon town and airport are less than an hour away, so there are plenty of options for day trips. The location really could not be better. The villa itself is great, it's set on 3 levels, with lots of very comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. There are 2 kitchens and a very large dining and lounge area, both overlooking the amazing view. We had a great week there and I could not recomend the villa more highly.
