Modern Laptop Friendly Workspace

Tucked amid the verdant cork oaks, this graceful villa offers an idyllic sanctuary with a sleek contemporary interior and modern features that invite you to spend a relaxing break surrounded by the peaceful natural landscape.

Built beneath the tree tops, Villa Muda has been carefully designed with large openings that draw in plenty of natural light whilst allowing the rooms to spill onto a charming veranda. Composed of two blocks, the villa is perfect for larger groups, with the floor plan mirrored across both buildings, creating two of everything. On each side, a long central room offers a generous common area with tall windows and bright white walls that amplify the sense of space. To one end, several sofas sit within a wonderful double-height space with an impressive wood burner for the winter months, whilst colourful artwork and vibrant decor add warmth and character. The double-height doors can be left ajar to enjoy a fresh, natural breeze, whilst upstairs on the mezzanine, a second sofa area offers the perfect place to relax with a book. A dining table sits in the adjacent space, whilst to the far end, a modern kitchen is well-equipped with open shelves and a polished concrete island that matches the floors throughout and creates a semi-industrial feel. A panel of windows frame views to the patio, whilst large sliding doors invite you to step out and dine alfresco. Gather around the table to share entertaining meals, or make the most of the warm evenings and sit with a glass of wine beneath the stars.

Spread across a single level, there are four bedrooms in each block, accommodating up to 16 guests. All the rooms are immaculately presented with bright walls contrasted by colourful cushions and throws, whilst each room features a large sliding door that opens onto an individual patio area. All the bathrooms are equally luxurious, with four of the rooms boasting their own ensuite, whilst the others have access to shared bathrooms.

Outside, a timber veranda wraps around the villa, with stylish seating arranged beneath a rush canopy, perfect for sitting in the shade and soaking up the peaceful setting. Potted shrubs and olive shrubs decorate the edges, and guests can simply step off the platform to take a stroll through the surrounding cork forests. The private estate extends across 23 hectares, and guests can make use of a  wonderful infinity pool shared between two other neighbouring villas. Enjoy a swim in the peaceful setting, or unwind in a hammock and soak up the natural surroundings.

With a spacious layout and a strong sense of nature, Villa Muda is the ideal place to spend a relaxing break with a group, where you can switch off and share memorable days with family or friends.

Enjoying a secluded setting in the midst of the Comporta countryside, Villa Muda offers an idyllic natural retreat, perfect for those looking to escape the pace of modern life and enjoy a tranquil break.

Guests can enjoy a stroll beneath the trees or take a dip in the shared pool, whilst for those craving a swim in the sea, the nearest beach is just 6km away. Hop in the car and head to the coast, where the region's golden beaches stretch for miles in each direction. Praia do Pego invites you to wander along the sand, dipping your toes in the fresh Atlantic water, or enjoy a swim before drying off in the sun. The beach hardly ever feels busy, and you can spend leisurely days soaking up the peaceful setting. There are several good public facilities as well as a handful of restaurants, perfect for a lunchtime snack or enjoying a beer at the end of the day whilst admiring the sunset behind the horizon.
Further along the coast, Praia da Comporta is a trendy spot where you can sit on the sand and watch the kite surfers or stop at one of the trendy barefoot restaurants. Enjoy a delicious plate of freshly grilled seafood and spend a relaxing evening sipping cocktails at the bar and enjoying the DJ's carefree beat.

There are endless opportunities to spend the day beside the sea, whilst inland, the beautiful natural reserves invite you to explore the wild scenery. Take a walk through the Sado Estuary to admire the remarkable landscape, wandering through the salt marshes and rice paddies where you can see an array of bird species, including the white storks that are the emblem of Comporta. Whilst the local town is small, there are several delightful artisan boutiques where you can browse hand-made wares and local produce. There are also some wonderful restaurants to try, including ‍Mar d'Arrozal, a farm-to-table set up by Chef João Sousa, whilst the lovely ‍Gomes Casa de Vinhos & Petiscos is a family-run affair located in a charming public garden. Sample regional classics such as bolinhos de bacalhau (codfish croquettes) or share plates of tasty ‘petiscos’ (Portuguese-style tapas).

Less than an hour along the coast, the vibrant capital of Lisbon makes a great day out. Cross the Tagus River and discover the historic streets lined with colourful buildings and beautiful tiled facades. Head to the top of the barrios to admire the views, sitting out on the cobbled terraces with an aperitif whilst looking down to the harbour. Pop into workshops to admire the ceramics, and be sure to stop off at a bakery to savour the delightful Pasteis de Nata. Lisbon comes alive at night, with lively bars and restaurants offering up welcoming hospitality with animated music and delicious food. You are sure to have a wonderful experience.

THE REGION

Comporta is surrounded by rice paddies, the ocean, sand dunes and pine forests. It's a unique place where you can connect with nature and live in the moment. Comporta has a rhythm and an ambience that are all it's own. This wild and unspoilt part of Portugal attracts an in-the-know international crowd, including renowned artists, designers, and A-listers.

Comporta has a remarkable diversity of natural systems with long stretches of beach, windswept dunes, scenic pine forests, salt marshes and rice paddies which become a vibrant green in June. The region is also characterized by rice fields and its main attraction, the Comporta beach: 20 kilometres of uninterrupted white sand, a beach lover’s paradise.

As with the rest of Portugal, you can expect sun-blessed weather year-round in Comporta. The best months of the year to visit Comporta for long beach stays are from June to September, while the spring and autumn months are still suitable for picnics or day trips.

ABOUT THE LISBON COAST

The Lisbon Coast is a sensational stretch of golden beaches, wave-lashed cliffs and vibrant seaside towns – but there's more to the Atlantic coastline than that. Delve beneath the surface to discover hidden coves, family-owned seafood restaurants and pristine natural parks.

The coast around Lisbon provides an easy, breezy escape from the capital, whose proximity has made it the stomping ground of kings for the last 1,000 years. In summer, Lisboistas stream into elegant Comporta and Cascais to escape the heat of the city; year-round, surfers hang loose on the coast, waiting for the rollers to crash down on the sand.

But while you're enjoying one of our fantastic villas on Lisbon Coast, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we've put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!
