Pool Villa/House Modern Beach Nearby All Bedrooms En-Suite

Villa Pienta is a fabulously comfortable holiday choice for eight guests, either a large family or a group of friends. Every bedroom is exquisite with its own superior quality bathroom. There is not a single room in this villa that is compromised in any way. It has a wonderful, inviting ambience about it.

Situated on the exclusive Praia del Rey Golf and Beach Resort on the Silver Coast of Portugal, it is in a fantastic position to enjoy beautiful beaches, amazing golf courses, delicious local cuisine and wines and stunning countryside. The resort itself offers fabulous facilities with tennis courts, an incredibly well-equipped gym and a luxury spa as well as the golf.

The open-plan design of the villa makes it so light and airy. It is stylishly decorated in neutral colours with quality furnishings. The living and dining area has enormous doors and windows with lovely views onto the pool and terrace. The kitchen is streamlined and so sleek with large appliances and every convenience. Two of the upmarket bedrooms are downstairs. The beds are so comfortable and, of course, the linens are exquisite. The bathrooms are smart and beautiful.

Upstairs, one bedroom has a very large balcony overlooking the pool and the golf course at the back of the property. The views are lovely. It is so comforting to just look at the lush green course meeting the brilliant blue sky! There is so much wardrobe space, and again every detail is high quality. There are three double beds and one set of twins although these are next to each other, making one huge bed if you so wish.

The pool is huge at 8m x 4m and is surrounded by the lovely terrace and sun loungers. The outside dining and lounge area is covered and complete with a barbecue and outside kitchen surfaces. This deluxe villa is a great choice for a group wanting a lot of space in a secluded, peaceful environment.

The Silver Coast has a wonderful coastline with family-friendly beaches including the local Praia del Rey sands and thrilling surf towns such as Nazare. The beautiful scenery is great to explore and totally unspoiled. The culture and history are evident in atmospheric towns such as Tomar and Coimbra.

Tomar is a fascinating, charming, quaint Portuguese town. During the 13th century, it was very influential as it was the religious centre for the Knights Templar, a secretive and powerful religious order based in the Convento de Cristo Convent. Tomar is set along the banks of the Nabao River and has a delightful, historic centre filled with pretty cobbled streets, ancient churches and quaint, traditional houses. The Charola Chapel at the Convento de Cristo is spectacular.

Coimbra is a historic, cultured beauty rising scenically from the Rio Mondego. It was Portugal’s capital city for more than a century. It is home to the country’s oldest, most prestigious and most beautiful university and definitely worthy of a visit. Its dark cobbled lanes, monumental cathedral and old stone walls are so atmospheric. On summer evenings you will marvel at the atmosphere with haunting notes of the Portuguese guitar and the deep voices of the fado singers.

Baleal, Nazare and Santa Cruz are some of the most popular beaches. The picturesque Nazare has pounding, exhilarating waves and is a surfers paradise. In the 15th century, Eleanor of Viseu discovered locals bathing in strange-smelling springs and founded Europe’s first hydrotherapy resort since the Roman times at Calda da Rainha. The original spa is now restored as a museum. Impressive ceramics can be seen at the romantic Museu de Ceramica set in a beautiful 19th century estate.

ABOUT THE SILVER COAST

The Silver Coast in Portugal, or Costa de Prata, is a stunning stretch of coastal towns on the western side of Portugal, neighbouring the Atlantic Ocean. The region remains largely unknown and therefore untouched by tourism, meaning those who do visit can bask in the extraordinary “silver” sand.

Another of the many reasons to love the Silver Coast in Portugal is its proximity to Portugal’s major cities. With Lisbon to the south and Porto to the north, the Silver Coast is well situated in between both of Portugal’s largest urban centres. At the same time, it is inexpensive, authentic, and relatively undiscovered.

The Silver Coast is home to some of the best beaches you’ll ever see in Portugal. Since it’s away from the main crowd of the country, the beaches here are wilder and more pristine. Also, being popular for fishing is a great place to try local cuisine and experience the culture.

The cuisine from the Silver Coast in Portugal is some of the finest that Europe has to offer and forms an integral part of the region’s culture. The area has a rich heritage, and tourists love the narrow, picturesque streets of the towns and villages that dot the countryside. The regional agriculture also adds an authentic touch, with numerous small farms, vineyards, windmills as well as fruit trees. Many local farmers grow soft fruits such as grapes, melons, pumpkins, and maize.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages

Taking advantage of the natural surroundings, Norpark is a family-friendly, unique water park next to the northern beach at Nazare. The park offers an Olympic sized pool, children's water playground, thrilling slides, a hydro massage pool, a giant jacuzzi and a restaurant. There are instructors dedicated to teaching toddlers to swim as well as adult classes in aerobics and dance. Sportagua at Peniche is another water park designed for all ages.

The Obidos Lagoon Sailing School offers lessons for a variety of watersports including sailing, kite surfing, windsurfing and stand-up paddleboarding. The water is shallow and warm on the lagoon, and there is a lovely lawned area for family picnics. If you do not need lessons, you can just rent the equipment.

Bowling Caldas is great fun with ten bowling lanes, an arcade, snooker, a restaurant, bar and often live entertainment.

Children will have a thrilling time at Parque dos Monges Alcobaca. The extreme zip wire is very entertaining as well as the obstacle courses, gladiator area, high wire, kayaking, horse riding and animal enclosures with monkeys, lamas, turtles and exotic birds. There is something for the whole family.

Many of the beaches on the Silver Coast are perfect for families. Praia del Rey has a lovely beach. Praia Tochu is stunning with unspoilt sand dunes and challenging waves. Praia de Carriero do Mosteiro is quite small with plenty of fish to watch, and Foz do Arelho Beach is a beautiful lagoon with crystal clear water. Baleal Surfcamp is a great venue for surf lessons for children. You can sit and watch them learning from a panoramic veranda.
