Location
About the surrounding area of Apartment RabiotIn the middle of Courchevel Village, Apartment Rabiot enjoys a prime location, nestled at the base of one of the world’s most desirable resorts. Comprised of traditional chalets and modern hotels, the Village has a laid-back feel, with narrow streets dotted with local shops and restaurants. Just 50m from the apartment, the Grangettes Gondola will transport you to the heart of 1850, where the resort’s central lifts disperse to an impressive piste map bursting with opportunity.
Crowned by jagged peaks, Courchevel is a skier’s paradise, with refined powder and deep snow cover, and a variety of slopes offer something for everyone to enjoy.
Topping out at 2740m, more seasoned skiers should head up to the top of the resort, where steep corridors and challenging blacks pose a more technical run. The Combe Saulire is a signature red, with some of the most reliable snow in the Trois Vallées, or hire a guide and head off-piste to discover the mountain’s wilder side. Equally, there are plenty of opportunities for those just starting out, with two large nursery areas and several dedicated beginner zones at various elevations, whilst numerous ski schools can offer tuition to help build up confidence.
Restaurants and bars can be found dotted across the mountainside, inviting you to meet up with friends and take a well-earned break. Perched at 2700m, La Panoramic is an ideal spot for lunch, serving up classic warming snacks which you can enjoy on the sunny terrace whilst admiring a view of Mont-Blanc. La Cave de Creux is a popular spot amongst locals, with a friendly atmosphere and wonderful brasserie-style menu celebrating ingredients sourced from the nearby region. For those looking for a party, a lively nightlife can be found in 1850, and guests can enjoy a fun evening of dancing and live music before catching the gondola back down the valley.
Courchevel also has plenty to offer non-skiers, with an array of activities both on and off the mountain. You can purchase a pedestrian lift pass to access winter walking trails or meet up with family and friends in one of the slope-side restaurants. An easy hike can be taken out to the Lac de La Rosiere, or hire a pair of ‘raquettes’ and enjoy a day exploring the less trodden paths in the heart of the valley. An impressive luge track is located in Moriond, with a 3km run that will have you hurtling through underground tunnels and speeding around bends, or for those looking for a more relaxing day, hop on the free shuttle to Aquamotion where you visit the spa or swim in the snow-lined pool.
During the summer months, when the snow melts, the mountains come alive with wild grasses and flowers, and an extensive network of trails await to be discovered. You can spend the day exploring the scenic landscape on foot, or for keen mountain bikers, several miles of downhill tracks drop down through the dense forests.

The Resort
Courchevel is made up of six satellite villages, each with their own distinct style and atmosphere, and picturesque forest roads to lead you in-between. Most well known is the illustrious Courchevel 1850 with its reputation for exclusivity and an A-List clientele. 1850 is certainly the place to go for five-star hotels, swanky bars and extravagant nightlife. The other Courchevel villages (such as Courchevel Moriond) have a much more laid back vibe and are certainly the more affordable choice.
The skiing in Courchevel is split into four levels and you can take an excellent free ski bus in between. At the resort itself you have 150 kilometres of pistes at your feet and while you can get a Courchevel lift-pass you can also ski the whole of the Three Valleys with an area-pass. Since the slopes here face north, the snow at Courchevel is more reliable than elsewhere in the Three Valleys. Courchevel pistes are absolutely unrivaled, meticulously maintained and perfectly positioned to align with the landscape.
With its highest lift at 2740m altitude, Courchevel is exceptionally good for high altitude skiing with incredible alpine views, and the most impressive runs are best suited for intermediate and advanced skiers. But for the little ones just finding their snow legs, the resort has a fantastic children’s village where they can learn in a stress-free environment. Ski season here lasts until late April and even if you prefer not to ski at all, you’ll be well entertained with everything from scenic walks to classical music concerts.
In the evenings, the Courchevel night skies are lit up by spectacular firework displays that could get anyone in the mood for a night on the town. The bars here are a good mix of casual and upmarket, so there’s plenty for all tastes to enjoy when it comes to après-ski. Courchevel also has a well-earned reputation for being the best ski resort when it comes to gastronomy.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesLocated in the midst of the snowy Alps, Apartment Rabiot is a great place to spend a break as a family. Kids will feel at home in the cosy space, and you can enjoy a relaxing night in, cooking home-cooked meals to share around the table or curling up on the sofa to watch a classic movie.
Located in the centre of the Village, it is easy to get around, and kids will love the magical mountain setting. A number of excellent ski schools can be found nearby, with a variety of courses suited to all levels, so you can go off and explore the more adventurous slopes whilst assured the kids are in good hands. If you are skiing together, there are two large nursery areas as well as several beginner zones, and children will also love to visit the Western Ski Park with its themed Indian run, complete with tee-pees, archery and workshops.
The whole family will enjoy the luge tracks, and Moriond boasts an impressive 3km long run where you can whizz through tunnels and around twisting corners. The local skating rink is a great place to spend a fun evening or enjoy a unique experience, taking a guided sledge ride being pulled by a pack of charming huskies.
