Perfect for families or groups of friends looking for a luxurious, laid-back escape, Chalet Roys is a dreamy, luxurious mountain retreat nestled in the heart of Courchevel. With stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, this chalet provides an idyllic setting for an unforgettable holiday experience.
As you enter the chalet, you’ll immediately be greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, fusing traditional alpine décor fused with modern amenities. The stunning open-plan living area features comfortable sofas and armchairs arranged around a fireplace and Apple TV-enabled TV, creating a cosy atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxing after a day on the slopes. Grand floor-to-ceiling windows bask the room in natural light and open up to reveal a comfortable balcony where you can watch the snow fall over the sleepy village below.
Next to the living room is a beautiful and spacious dining area that can accommodate your whole party with ease, making it ideal for entertaining or enjoying a family meal. Your kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to create filling, home-cooked meals. Breakfasts, however, are on us as the chalet’s dedicated staff will prepare and serve a delicious breakfast each morning for you.
For maximum comfort, the chalet boasts five beautiful bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom and views of the surrounding area. The rooms are furnished with traditional Alpine bedding to ensure you get a good night's rest.
One of the standout features of this chalet is the wellness area, which includes a sauna, steam room, and hot tub, perfect for resting your muscles after a long day on the slopes. There's also a ski room with specialised storage space and boot warmers, making it easy to store and dry ski equipment after each outing.
What you should know…
- It is not advised for children under the age of five to use the hot tub or sauna, and older children should always be supervised when doing so
- As Courchevel is a relatively upmarket resort, please be aware that the cost of staying in the area may be higher than other Alpine resorts when dining out and shopping
- The Courchevel resort is spread out across several villages and elevations, so we recommend renting a vehicle during your stay if you wish to explore the wider area

About the surrounding area of Chalet RoysChalet Roys enjoys a prime location in the heart of the world-famous Courchevel resort. This exclusive resort is part of the larger Three Valleys ski area, which boasts over 600km of beautiful pistes and over 200 lifts, making it one of the largest and most diverse ski areas in the world.
To get Chalet Roys, the easiest method is to fly into one of the nearby airports like Geneva or Lyon, before arranging for a transfer to the resort. Taxis, shared transfers, and private rental services are readily available at both locations for your convenience.
There are also direct train services from Paris to nearby Moutiers, which is only a twenty-five-minute drive away from the resort. Once in the resort, Chalet Roys is easily accessible and only a short walk from the village and ski slopes.
During the winter season, Courchevel is a haven for winter sports enthusiasts, with endless opportunities for skiing, snowboarding, and more. The resort is made up of several different villages, each with its own unique atmosphere and charm. Courchevel 1850 is the most prestigious and offers a wide range of luxury boutiques, fine-dining restaurants, and world-class spas, while Courchevel 1650 is more laid-back, with a relaxed atmosphere and a focus on family-friendly activities. Courchevel 1550, where Chalet Roys is located, remains quite traditional and offers a cosy authentic alpine experience.
For non-skiers, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy in the area such as snowshoeing, ice skating, and dog sledding. In the village centres, Courchevel also boasts a wide range of restaurants, ranging from Michelin-starred fine dining to casual mountain diners, as well as a lively après-ski scene.

The Resort
Courchevel is made up of six satellite villages, each with their own distinct style and atmosphere, and picturesque forest roads to lead you in-between. Most well known is the illustrious Courchevel 1850 with its reputation for exclusivity and an A-List clientele. 1850 is certainly the place to go for five-star hotels, swanky bars and extravagant nightlife. The other Courchevel villages (such as Courchevel Moriond) have a much more laid back vibe and are certainly the more affordable choice.
The skiing in Courchevel is split into four levels and you can take an excellent free ski bus in between. At the resort itself you have 150 kilometres of pistes at your feet and while you can get a Courchevel lift-pass you can also ski the whole of the Three Valleys with an area-pass. Since the slopes here face north, the snow at Courchevel is more reliable than elsewhere in the Three Valleys. Courchevel pistes are absolutely unrivaled, meticulously maintained and perfectly positioned to align with the landscape.
With its highest lift at 2740m altitude, Courchevel is exceptionally good for high altitude skiing with incredible alpine views, and the most impressive runs are best suited for intermediate and advanced skiers. But for the little ones just finding their snow legs, the resort has a fantastic children’s village where they can learn in a stress-free environment. Ski season here lasts until late April and even if you prefer not to ski at all, you’ll be well entertained with everything from scenic walks to classical music concerts.
In the evenings, the Courchevel night skies are lit up by spectacular firework displays that could get anyone in the mood for a night on the town. The bars here are a good mix of casual and upmarket, so there’s plenty for all tastes to enjoy when it comes to après-ski. Courchevel also has a well-earned reputation for being the best ski resort when it comes to gastronomy.
Kids

When at home, kids can kick back and relax in the comfortable living room with a fantastic selection of movies and shows available on demand with Apple TV. They can also surf the web and stream media on their personal devices thanks to Chalet Roy’s unlimited high-speed internet.
Kids love being able to unwind in the chalet’s wellness suite; whether that involves a rejuvenating visit to the sauna or letting their troubles bubble away in the large hot tub.
The chalet is located just a short walk from the slopes, making it easy for families to access the ski area and enjoy a range of winter sports activities. For younger children, there are several ski schools in Courchevel that offer group and private lessons, as well as childcare services. Not only are ski schools a great way to introduce children to skiing and snowboarding in a safe and fun environment, they also get to make new friends while parents can enjoy some time on the slopes.
In addition to skiing, there are plenty of other winter activities for children to enjoy in and around the chalet. The popular Aquamotion aquatics centre features several swimming pools, a surfing simulator, and even water slides to give kids a fun-filled change of pace from the slopes.
