Set against the dramatic backdrop of Courchevel Moriond, Le Renard is the perfect place to base yourselves for your next ski retreat. Whether you’re travelling as a group of friends or as a family, Le Renard is a great choice for snow lovers looking for a little slice of luxury between ski sessions.
Le Renard is a gorgeous three-bedroom apartment dressed in traditional ski-lodge stylings within the luxurious Portetta complex. Designed with skiers in mind, Portetta is situated right beside Courchevel Moriond’s ski lift, making it the ideal ski-in, ski-out accommodation. Simply pick up, or drop off, your equipment at the in-house storage and rental shop and you’re ready to go.
Like something from a postcard, your apartment is a picture-perfect ski cabin mixing all the cosiness of a rustic cabin escape with the comforts of modern living. Le Renard is wonderfully spacious, with ample room for guests to spread out and do their own thing without feeling cramped. When together, the central lounge forms a natural hub for the property with a large open-plan space that combines your living room and dining room. A comfortable seating area wraps around a large traditional open fireplace with your family-style dining table to the rear. Patio doors open out onto a raised balcony, giving you amazing views of the Courchevel Moriond valley.
For cooking, you can whip up delicious meals in your fully-equipped kitchen that comes with all the mod cons we know and love like a Nespresso Machine. For times when you don’t fancy cooking, a wonderful restaurant is located within Portetta called Cucina Angelina that serves Italian-inspired mountain favourites.
Sleeping arrangements are spread across two floors with two bedrooms on the lower level, just off from the kitchen, and the third bedroom located above in a separate mezzanine. The two lower bedrooms both have a double bed and clothes storage. One bedroom has a private en-suite bathroom with a bathtub while the other has a private walk-in shower room and access to a communal toilet in the apartment hallway.
In the mezzanine, a small but cosy secondary lounge awaits with a small seating area gathered around a stylish coffee table. The third bedroom is located past the upper lounge, comprising of a double bed, clothes storage, a private en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and access to a second private balcony.
If you fancy having a day off from the slopes and need to rest your weary muscles, a world-class spa is located right inside Portetta. Offering a fantastic range of beauty and wellness treatments, the spa is the perfect place to rest and relax for a few hours.

Location
About the surrounding area of Le RenardNestled in the heart of Courchevel Moriond, Le Renard is a fantastic place to base yourselves for a holiday full of laid-back snow action. With the fun of the pistes right on your doorstep and easy access to Courchevel Moriond’s sister resorts, Le Renard deserves every bit of praise it has received.
Getting to Le Renard is relatively straightforward; you can drive directly to Courchevel Moriond and park up at Portetta or you can fly into Geneva Airport and transfer over to the property from there. Bear in mind, however, that Le Renard is approximately a two and a half hour drive from Geneva if you’re planning to transfer from Geneva.
Once settled in at Le Renard, you can set about exploring the area. Although Courchevel Moriond has its own extensive list of slopes to choose from, the village is actually part of a wider resort known as the Three Valleys. Comprised of three separate, but connected, ski villages at different elevations across the valley. Courchevel Moriond sits at the centre of the three, with Courchevel 1550 and Courchevel 1850 just a short drive away. If you don’t have access to your own car, a regular bus service runs between the three sites each day.
Your village, Courchevel Moriond, is a lovely self-contained spot with all of your immediate amenities taken care of. Around the area, you’ll be able to find delicious restaurants, trendy apres-ski bars, shops and supermarkets for your grocery needs.

The Resort
Courchevel is made up of six satellite villages, each with their own distinct style and atmosphere, and picturesque forest roads to lead you in-between. Most well known is the illustrious Courchevel 1850 with its reputation for exclusivity and an A-List clientele. 1850 is certainly the place to go for five-star hotels, swanky bars and extravagant nightlife. The other Courchevel villages (such as Courchevel Moriond) have a much more laid back vibe and are certainly the more affordable choice.
The skiing in Courchevel is split into four levels and you can take an excellent free ski bus in between. At the resort itself you have 150 kilometres of pistes at your feet and while you can get a Courchevel lift-pass you can also ski the whole of the Three Valleys with an area-pass. Since the slopes here face north, the snow at Courchevel is more reliable than elsewhere in the Three Valleys. Courchevel pistes are absolutely unrivaled, meticulously maintained and perfectly positioned to align with the landscape.
With its highest lift at 2740m altitude, Courchevel is exceptionally good for high altitude skiing with incredible alpine views, and the most impressive runs are best suited for intermediate and advanced skiers. But for the little ones just finding their snow legs, the resort has a fantastic children’s village where they can learn in a stress-free environment. Ski season here lasts until late April and even if you prefer not to ski at all, you’ll be well entertained with everything from scenic walks to classical music concerts.
In the evenings, the Courchevel night skies are lit up by spectacular firework displays that could get anyone in the mood for a night on the town. The bars here are a good mix of casual and upmarket, so there’s plenty for all tastes to enjoy when it comes to après-ski. Courchevel also has a well-earned reputation for being the best ski resort when it comes to gastronomy.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesLe Renard is a great place to base yourselves as a family group - especially if you are a mixed-age family who likes having your own space. While staying at Le Renard, you can participate in social activities such as board games with a wonderful selection available from the Portetta games library. You can also enjoy typical family bonding activities like gathering around the TV and watching a movie or keeping up with your favourite series. Wireless internet is also available throughout Le Renard, allowing kids to connect their personal devices and stream their favourite media in the comfort of their home-away-from-home.
Beyond Le Renard, kids can participate in a fantastic roster of activities around the resort during their visit. For many little skiers, the fun starts with ski school. Located at the heart of Courchevel Moriond, expert instructors will help kids to learn the basics of skiing before hitting the pistes. Experienced skiers can also join in with top-up lessons designed to help hone their skills and confidence when on the slopes.
Regular events and activities are held throughout the season for younger visitors, such as downhill tubing sessions and tobogganing.
You can also help kids to break up their stay with trips to Courchevel Moriond’s sister sites at Courchevel 1550 and Courchevel 1850, with the latter having a cinema that plays the latest movies and a bowling alley - perfect for a family night out.
