These gorgeous apartments are decorated in a traditional lodge style with heavy wooden fittings accented by chic modern accessories. With everything you need to make yourselves at home for the duration of your stay, you can rest easy at L'Ours.
Set across a single level, L'Ours’s effective use of space creates an environment that is cosy and homely without feeling cramped. A good-sized open-plan living room and kitchen make the heart of the house, with spacious sofas and plush chairs gathered around a roaring fire and a flat-screen TV. A spacious outdoor balcony is accessed via doors in the living room and your bedrooms.
For meals, a fully-equipped kitchen has all you need to make delicious meals for your group while a cosy dining nook gives you a place to gather around for mealtimes.
When it’s finally time to lie down and rest after an eventful day of skiing, two bedrooms are yours to choose from. The main bedroom features a double bed, storage space, a TV, a private en-suite bathroom and direct access to the balcony. The second bedroom also has a double bed, a TV and access to the balcony, but has additional storage space and lacks its own bathroom. A shared bathroom is located adjacent to the bedroom as are two separate toilet rooms.
While staying at Portetta, you’re welcome to enhance your visit by upgrading to a half-board basis that allows you to make use of the property’s delicious restaurant for breakfast and dinner each day. While not included in any meal packages, Portetta also has a trendy bar, perfect for post-ski cocktails and nibbles.
If you don’t have your own snow gear, don’t worry - a high-quality ski rental shop is located within the Portetta lodge as is a dedicated storage spot. At the end of each day, all you have to do is hand over your equipment and their expert staff will make sure it’s all in perfect shape for the next day. They’ll even place your ski boots on a special rack that keeps them nice and warm for your next outing.

Location
About the surrounding area of L'OursLocated at the base of the magnificent Courchevel Moriond ski resort, L'Ours has an enviable and much-sought-after location among snow lovers. Also known as Courchevel 1650, Courchevel Moriond is a pleasant resort with well-tended slopes perfect for beginner and intermediate skiers.
To get to Courchevel Moriond, most visitors choose to fly into Geneva, followed by a car or coach transfer to the Courchevel Moriond resort. From Geneva, expect the journey to take around two and a half hours.
The Courchevel ski zone is made up of three sister zones based at different elevation points - Courchevel 1650, where L'Ours is located, gentle Courchevel 1550 and Courcheval 1850. From L'Ours, you can get to either zone with ease, either via the slopes themselves or by driving. If you haven’t rented a car, don’t worry as a regular bus service runs between the three zones.
Of the three zones, Courchevel 1850 is known for its more advanced runs, so if wish to visit but you’re not a confident skier it may be best to drive between resorts. Within Courchevel Moriond, the majority of ski paths are flagged as either ‘easy’ or ‘very easy’, with a handful of ‘difficult’ runs for more advanced skiers.
While at L'Ours, your location is ideally beside one of the resort’s main ski lifts, providing easy access to the slopes for all. With its proximity to the lifts and slopes, L'Ours is the perfect ski-in ski-out lodge.
Outside of winter sports, Courchevel Moriond is a great little resort to visit. The small village has everything you should need to enjoy your time at Courchevel Moriond - shops, cafes, restaurants and a well-stocked supermarket.

The Resort
Courchevel is made up of six satellite villages, each with their own distinct style and atmosphere, and picturesque forest roads to lead you in-between. Most well known is the illustrious Courchevel 1850 with its reputation for exclusivity and an A-List clientele. 1850 is certainly the place to go for five-star hotels, swanky bars and extravagant nightlife. The other Courchevel villages (such as Courchevel Moriond) have a much more laid back vibe and are certainly the more affordable choice.
The skiing in Courchevel is split into four levels and you can take an excellent free ski bus in between. At the resort itself you have 150 kilometres of pistes at your feet and while you can get a Courchevel lift-pass you can also ski the whole of the Three Valleys with an area-pass. Since the slopes here face north, the snow at Courchevel is more reliable than elsewhere in the Three Valleys. Courchevel pistes are absolutely unrivaled, meticulously maintained and perfectly positioned to align with the landscape.
With its highest lift at 2740m altitude, Courchevel is exceptionally good for high altitude skiing with incredible alpine views, and the most impressive runs are best suited for intermediate and advanced skiers. But for the little ones just finding their snow legs, the resort has a fantastic children’s village where they can learn in a stress-free environment. Ski season here lasts until late April and even if you prefer not to ski at all, you’ll be well entertained with everything from scenic walks to classical music concerts.
In the evenings, the Courchevel night skies are lit up by spectacular firework displays that could get anyone in the mood for a night on the town. The bars here are a good mix of casual and upmarket, so there’s plenty for all tastes to enjoy when it comes to après-ski. Courchevel also has a well-earned reputation for being the best ski resort when it comes to gastronomy.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesWhether they’re complete novices or little experts, L'Ours is a popular choice for families thanks to its ideal proximity to the slopes. While staying at L'Ours, you can rest assured that kids are just as well catered for at the lodge as they are out on the slopes.
Inside L'Ours, a fantastic selection of board games is available for you and your family to play while gathered around the fire or while enjoying hot chocolates on the balcony. TVs are located in each room to make it easy to keep kids entertained between activities and to help them wind down in the evenings.
If the kids can’t find anything they like on the TV, L'Ours has a great wireless internet connection that they can use to connect their personal devices to. Once connected, kids can stream and game as much as they like during their downtime.
Skiers of all levels are encouraged to find their feet on the slopes of Courchevel Moriond, with an expertly-designed series of ski paths that even complete newbies can enjoy. When skiing, kids can still have fun on the slopes with a series of professionally-organised activities like tobogganing and snow tubing.
