Engulfed by majestic, snow-capped peaks of the French Alps, Chalet Lambourne is a luxurious seven-bedroom holiday home for fifteen. Located in idyllic Alpe d’Huez, it is an unforgettable retreat for ski lovers in all seasons.

Combining the rustic charm of an Alpine snow cabin with the luxuries of modern holidaying, the chalet is bright, open and inviting. It boasts light-wood paneling and pastoral furnishings in all its three floors, giving off a calming, natural feel. An especially popular feature is its wellness area – an entire floor equipped with a hot tub and sauna, perfect for unwinding with a glass of locally-produced wine.

The living room is warm and airy, with comfy gray couches, tasteful wooden furniture and a crackling fire pit. Tuck in the spacious balcony to savour breathtaking views of the mountains. Enjoy cosy family meals in the indoor dining area, or try out recipes in the fully-functioning, open-plan kitchen. In addition to gray-stoned countertops, the kitchen also comes with an oven, four-ring hob, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, toaster, Senseo coffee machine and coffee percolator.

All bedrooms are dotted with wooden furnishing, making them perfect to relax in after a hard day of skiing outside. The ground floor features four bedrooms, each with twin beds and en-suite bathrooms. Upstairs, you’ll find two bedrooms, also with twin beds and en-suite bathrooms, plus a triple bedroom, with en-suite bathroom. Some of the bedrooms have wood-framed picture windows or balconies with sweeping mountain views.

Those working from home can avail the chalet’s free Wi-fi. The Contactless A La Carte Service includes a food delivery service. You can choose provisions from an extensive shopping list, which will be bought and stocked in the kitchen before your arrival. The Contactless Catered Service offers provisions for breakfast and afternoon snacks on all days of the week, as well as six evening meals with pre-dinner hors d'oeuvres.

Tucked in the scenic, high altitude ski resort of Alpe d’Huez, Chalet Lambourne is a family-friendly winter getaway. Sitting on Avenue de l’Eclose, towards the southernmost part of the main village, it is only a 5-minute walk from the resort center. Its closeness to the slopes means that you can literally step onto the piste every morning. Only a 3-minute walk from the Telecenter lift, nursery area and main lifts, it is equally suited for beginners and more advanced skiers.

Drenched in balmy sunlight, it is a paradise for snowboarders and ski bikers. During summers, you can enjoy a range of activities such as rambling, mountain biking, via ferrata, horse riding, fishing and pool swimming.

The chalet is a stone’s throw away from various restaurants in Alpe d'Huez, which cater to all tastes and budgets. Don’t miss homemade muffins and crepes at La Mere Michel Café (3 min), a charming local cafe. The restaurant in Chamois d'Or hotel (6 min) specialises in gourmet French cuisine, with cheese boards and grilled fish being a fan favorite.

Just under 2 hours from Grenoble airport, you can access this resort with ease, from anywhere in the world! Alpe d'Huez ski area encompasses an altitude range of 1130m-3330m, including one of Europe’s largest nursery areas, ideal for beginners, as well as a huge range of blue and red pistes.

Around the resort you will find the gentler slopes, where beginners can start to find their feet, while those more experienced can head straight to the lifts at Les Bergers, your gateway to the 250km of linked pistes on offer, including 17 black slopes, 39 red slopes, 38 blue slopes and 41 green slopes!

Resort hosts a wide variety of eateries, from pizzerias and cafés to more high-end restaurants, and everything in between! By night, the town comes alive – with pubs, clubs and often live music events, you can be sure to find the perfect spot to dance, sing and party late into the night. With five ski resorts in total and two traditional mountain villages, there’s plenty of action and something for everyone!

Of course, Alpe D’Huez is famous as a winter sports paradise, but there are endless activities on offer all year round! The range of activities for you enjoy depends on the time of year you choose to visit. The Palais des Sports leisure centre available for a range of indoor sports, as well as offering an ice rink and a swimming pool! Out on the mountain, you can try some thrilling sports, including ice climbing, snowmobiling, ski joëring and husky sledging – and even paragliding or a helicopter ride is on the menu if you’re feeling brave!

For a slightly slower pace, simply treat yourself to a trip to the spa in the local town. And that’s just on land!

The chalet is a sure fire hit with kids. The twin beds are perfect for a fun-filled slumber party. They can build snowmen, play-fight with snowballs and enjoy various activities in Alpe d’Huez like hiking, horse riding and cycling.

Thanks to its central location, the chalet is also at a walkable distance from nursery slopes, charming ice-skating rinks and other kid-friendly winter activities. The staff will be happy to help you with details about ski schools and kid-friendly ski areas in the neighborhood.

Children will love the steaming fondues at La Fondue en Folie (5 min). Some of their more inventive fondue recipes infuse tomatoes, herbs, Roquefort cheese, bacon and honey. Chamois d'Or Restaurant offers a specially curated menu for kids.
