In a pretty, village-like setting, around 1km from the centre of Morzine, Touviere Farmhouse is an idyllic place to stay on a holiday to the French Alps, whether you are here for skiing or for a summer break in the mountains. This vast home can accommodate up to fifteen guests in comfort.
Built in the 19th century, the farmhouse stands out amongst the newer wooden chalets. This home is packed with original features and has a charming façade which fits in with the alpine surroundings.
Indoors, you will find a sprawling home set over four storeys which effortlessly blends modern amenities with traditional features. Throughout the house, you can utilise WI-FI, Smart TVs, contemporary bathrooms and a fantastic kitchen. These features sit side-by-side with traditional wood burners and original exposed woodwork.
The living area here is cosy and welcoming with plush sofas and armchairs gathered around a feature fireplace. This opens out on to a balcony where you can sip your freshly brewed coffee. If you prefer a snug room to watch TV or a movie in the evening, you can retreat into the TV room instead. This living space also offers a splendid dining room and a fully-fitted kitchen which is packed with gadgets and appliances. If you would rather have a break from the cooking, you can even hire a private chef!
When it comes to getting a good night’s sleep, there are a great range of bedrooms here! Families may opt for one of the double bedrooms which offer an adjoining twin bedroom or bunk room, while couples can select one of the sumptuous double rooms. One room even boasts a freestanding bath for a romantic soak.
Outdoors, the house has a wonderful jacuzzi where you can relax after a long day of skiing, before heading inside to heat up by the fireside.
Just 1km away from the house, you can reach the Super Mozrine lift which will take you up to the ski slopes, and to picturesque hiking routes in the warmer months. There are plenty of ski lessons for all abilities here too, so if you are new to skiing you can learn with a local instructor and utilise the smaller slopes. For the more experienced you can visit the more challenging slopes.
After a busy day of skiing or walking, you will find lots of cafes, bars and restaurants to spend cosy evenings enjoying dinner and drinks by a crackling fireside.
The home is well-situated in the heart of Morzine and from here you can easily reach other French ski resorts and pop over the border into Switzerland.
The chalet is available year-round, but facilities, property and local amenities may vary depending upon season.
Winter | Ski Chalet
December - April
Touviere Farmhouse becomes a haven for skiers and snow enthusiasts during the winter months. Just a short distance from the Super Morzine lift, guests have easy access to the slopes of Morzine and beyond. After a day on the mountain, unwind in the farmhouse's jacuzzi or cosy up by the fireside in the living area. Families and beginners can take advantage of nearby ski lessons, while experienced skiers can tackle the challenging slopes. In the evenings, explore the village's charming cafes, bars, and restaurants, where you can enjoy delicious meals and après-ski drinks by crackling fires.
Summer | Alpine Chalet
June - September
Touviere Farmhouse transforms into a tranquil retreat for outdoor adventurers in the summer. With picturesque hiking routes just a stone's throw away, guests can explore the stunning Alpine landscape at their own pace. The farmhouse's spacious interiors provide a comfortable respite after a day of hiking or mountain biking. Relax on the balcony with freshly brewed coffee or soak in the sun in the outdoor jacuzzi. For those seeking culinary delights, the village offers a variety of dining options, from quaint cafes to gourmet restaurants. The farmhouse's central location makes it easy to explore neighbouring ski resorts and even venture into Switzerland for a day trip.
What you should know…
- The TV does not have French channels, but you can access Netflix, Youtube etc in your chosen language
- Two of the bedrooms have additional adjoining rooms with twin beds or bunk beds which would be great for children
- There is a jacuzzi outside which is a lovely feature, though it is not fenced so may be a little overlooked
- The home owners request that guests do not hold loud parties and gatherings here, there is a noise monitoring system in place
- The nearest ski lift and shops are each under 1km away, but if you wish to bring a car to explore other areas, there is parking available

The fantastic location of the house provides guests with easy access to a wealth of shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars within the centre Morzine, one of the most sought-after resorts in the beloved Portes du Soleil ski area. For those on a winter holiday, the house’s proximity to the nearest slopes and lifts guarantees you seamless access to incredible ski and snowboarding opportunities in Morzine. Aside from skiing, you can also try snowshoeing, ice skating or even go sledding at night here!
If you would like to see more of the Portes du Soleil area, you can take day trips to Les Gets and Avoriaz which are each under 12km away and have different terrains and views for you to enjoy.
If you wish to take a break from the winter sports, Morzine is well-placed for days out trips to other towns such as Thonon les Bains which 32km away. Here you can discover a charming tow on the breathtaking shores of Lake Geneva. While here you can walk around the promenade, take a dip in the thermal spas and do a spot of shopping.
If you choose to visit Morzine in the warmer months, you will not be disappointed! There are endless walking and cycling routes here and you can take scenic picnics at nearby rivers and lakes. The countless restaurants and bars are all still open, providing an inviting foodie scene too.
