Slightly further afield, Slovenia's fairytale capital city can be reached within an hour by car. Here, you can wander through lively street markets before visiting the imposing Ljubljana Castle. The stunning beauty of glacial Lake Bled is only an hour and a half's drive away from the villa, so pack a picnic of delicious local produce and make your way to the lake for a day trip to remember.
