With a convenient location in Barcelona's trendy Eixample neighbourhood, not far from the beach and the city's myriad of other fabulously unique and exciting districts, lies this cosy, contemporary two-bedroom apartment for up to four guests with a private balcony.

Located in the vibrant Barcelona neighbourhood of Sant Antoni in Eixample, the home offers a light-filled, open-plan living area that exudes a certain laid-back, modern, and welcoming vibe. Upon entry into the apartment, you'll immediately notice the abundance of natural light that floods the living space, comprising a comfortable seating area, a dining set for up to four people, and a well-equipped modern kitchen. This is the heart of the home, and we love its seamless, especially how it goes on to offer access to the lovely balcony and think it is just as well suited to relaxing on the couch with a good book as it is to enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal at the dining table.

The modern kitchen, situated within this open-plan layout, is a perfect blend of style and functionality, featuring sleek countertops, contemporary appliances, and all the equipment you need to rustle up something tasty on those evenings when you don't fancy venturing out to one of the numerous tapas bars that dot this area.

Through a door from the living room, you enter the master bedroom, where you'll discover a tranquil haven that promotes rest and relaxation. With its soothing atmosphere, this bedroom offers the perfect escape from the bustling city. What sets it apart is its additional access to the private balcony, where it's great to sit at the table and chairs for two to sip a morning coffee or unwind in the evening while enjoying the views of the quietly bustling neighbourhood below.

The apartment also features a second bedroom with two single beds, making it an ideal space for accommodating children or teenagers if you are travelling as a family. The tasteful design and comfortable furnishings ensure a pleasant stay for all occupants.

Cosy, comfortable, and contemporary, this lovely two-bedroom home offers an equally attractive location amid the hustle and bustle of one of Barcelona's hippest neighbourhoods.

Known for its captivating streets lined with historical monuments, sites of cultural significance, great restaurants, cafés, and bustling bars – not to mention shops and plenty of atmospheric laneways to peruse – Eixample's Sant Antoni neighbourhood encapsulates some of our very favourite things about the effervescent Catalan capital.

Offering a unique blend of old-world charm and trendy modernity, Sant Antoni offers the opportunity to experience both sides of Barcelona: from its rich and multi-layered history to its vibrant, exciting present. Explore the revitalised Mercat de Sant Antoni, indulge in a voyage of culinary discovery along Carrer Parlament, or slow down and soak up the atmosphere from a pavement-side table outside one of the many cafés, bars, and restaurants that populate this part of town.

The range of flavours to be found along these streets is genuinely staggering, mixing international influences with robust local favourites. If you're a fan of tapas, then you're in luck! Eixample has some top-notch tapas options where you can feast on mouth-watering Mediterranean and Spanish dishes that showcase the essence and fresh produce of the region. Soak up the laid-back, local vibes, dive into the rich Catalan culture, and savour delicious bites accompanied by the best Spanish wines or a pitcher of chilled Sangria.

You will also find yourself within easy reach of many of the city's other iconic neighbourhoods. Spend the day meandering through the Gothic Quarter, take in the wonderful cacophony of sights and sounds that animate La Rambla, or peruse vibrant Port Vell: a bustling marina and waterfront area where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the promenade lined by high-end restaurants and admire the luxurious yachts. Throughout this part of the city, you can't help but stumble upon ornate buildings and emblematic monuments, such as those in the Barrio Gótico, El Raval, Plaza Catalunya and the Paseo de Gracia, to name but a few.

History buffs and culture vultures may well rejoice, as a veritable plethora of art galleries, museums, and architectural wonders – including those designed by Gaudi – is littered around these historic areas. One of our favourites is the Museu d'Història de Barcelona (MUHBA), which is also just a short distance from the home and showcases the city's rich past through archaeological artefacts and interactive exhibits.

Alternatively, why not immerse yourself in the local culture by visiting one of Barcelona's food markets, including the Barceloneta neighbourhood and the Boqueria Market along La Rambla? These vibrant markets offer an array of fresh produce, seafood, and loads of local delicacies. Browse through the stalls, sample some tasty treats, and experience the captivating atmosphere of a traditional Spanish market.

The nearby sandy beach at Barceloneta offers a whole host of activities, from sunbathing and swimming to beach volleyball and water sports, ensuring endless entertainment for just about everyone. Also along this stretch of coastline is the Aquarium Barcelona, one of Europe's largest aquariums, which provides the perfect family-friendly afternoon out.

The city's excellent public transportation system makes it easy and convenient to explore further afield, including visiting landmarks like the Sagrada Familia or Park Güell. Therefore, no matter how long you stay in this multifaceted city, there is always something new to discover.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

The Sant Antoni neighbourhood is excellent for those travelling with children and teens as it provides a wonderful introduction to the city's eclectic, creative, and cosmopolitan culture and a more relaxed daily way of life than other areas. The wealth of cafés, restaurants, and boutique shops offer plenty of choices, while the unique atmosphere of these narrow lanes is sure to leave a lasting impression on kids and adults alike.

When it comes to exploring the rest of Barcelona with children and teenagers, there are plenty of exciting activities and attractions to keep them entertained and engaged: from interactive museums to thrilling parks; the city offers a wide range of options catering to various age groups and interests.

Speaking of catering to all ages and interests… one almost guaranteed crowd-pleaser is the Museu de la Xocolata – the chocolate museum – where you can get your hands messy with interactive workshops, learn about the history of chocolate-making, and, of course, sample some of the wears. The nearby Museum of Illusions offers another family-friendly indoor activity that will keep the kids busy and engaged.

One of the most popular to do with children in Barcelona is the CosmoCaixa. This science museum provides a hands-on learning experience based on interactive exhibits, a planetarium, and its own rainforest ecosystem – what more could one need for an educational adventure for the whole family? Of course, Barcelona Aquarium in Port Vell offers another excellent option for a family-friendly afternoon out and a captivating destination for marine enthusiasts of any age. Explore the underwater world through the Oceanarium tunnel, where you will encounter diverse marine species. Kids can also participate in interactive workshops and learn about marine conservation.

Suppose you prefer your animals to be a little more land-based. In that case, Barcelona Zoo, situated within the verdant grounds of Parc de la Ciutadella, just a stone's throw from the apartment, is home to a wide variety of animals from all around the world. Kids can enjoy observing animals such as elephants, giraffes, and dolphins and participating in educational activities and shows.

Designed by the renowned architect Antoni Gaudí, Park Güell offers a whimsical and enchanting atmosphere filled with colourful mosaic sculptures, imaginative structures, and the dragon staircase that are all sure to fascinate children of all ages. Thanks to its elevated vantage point, the park also provides breathtaking views of Barcelona.

For a park of a slightly different kind, Tibidabo Amusement Park, situated atop Mount Tibidabo, offers a thrilling experience with a mix of classic and modern rides. From roller coasters to a vintage Ferris wheel, the park offers panoramic views of Barcelona along with fun-filled attractions for all ages, which combine to ensure some unforgettable family holiday memories (as well as some great snaps to remind you of your time in Barcelona).

Children, teenagers, and adults alike are sure to fall in love with the soft golden sands of Barceloneta Beach, not to mention the array of activities, attractions, and laid-back beach bars which line its shores – all of which are reachable with just a short drive or hop on the readily accessible public transport.

Furthermore, your hosts are able to provide a crib upon request, so even the littlest members of your party will be well-catered for.
