Torre Caballe, an extraordinary, fully staffed large villa in Catalonia, is a converted fortified farmhouse set in 60 acres of almond groves and forest with unparalleled views. The grounds contain a private swimming pool, separate Jacuzzi, poolside shower and covered and uncovered terraces. Children will love the multimedia and games rooms and fossil hunting in the neighboring hills. The nine well-appointed bedrooms have king and super-king size beds and en-suite bathrooms. About the surrounding area of Torre CaballeMatarranya is a small corner of the country known as the ‘Spanish Tuscany’. Although you are on the edge of the dramatic Els Ports Natural Park with incredible hiking trails, it’s only just over an hour to the coast so there is that wonderful Mediterranean climate. Here the three kingdoms of Catalonia, Valencia and Aragon meet. The countryside is a patchwork of almond and olive groves interspersed with beautiful meadows of wild flowers.
It’s a part of Spain that has only recently been discovered by the Spanish themselves who come to see a part of the country where the traditional Spanish values remain. Here the locals work the land for a living and the villages preserve their medieval past
As well as the beautiful landscapes, which Picasso captured in his youth, there is also some of the best wildlife in the country. Ibex with huge horns come down to the almond grove and right onto the front lawn in the summer evenings, and the vulture-feeding centre nearby has been rated as one of the top 5 wildlife attractions in Europe.

There are few places which have the capacity for a multi generational family celebration with 9 rooms where the family can have complete privacy with all the facilities of a boutique hotel.
For very small children there are fenced patio areas. Older kids tend to hang around the pool with the inflatables. There is fossil hunting available in the grounds and the multi media room is always popular.

The interior of Torre Caballe can host intimate gatherings, whereas the wedding lawn can accommodate grand celebrations with ease. From personalised planning services to catering services, Torre Caballe’s owners are committed to assisting their guests in having their perfect day. Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony can be set on the lawn of the villa and can seat up to 120 guests. For the max capacity, seating will spread around the pool. The owners can also obtain an English-speaking celebrant for the wedding ceremony. However, they are unable to have a priest come down to complete the ceremony.
Should the weather be un-ideal, there is an option to hire a marquee that will give cover from the weather.
Wedding Reception
Torre Caballe has several options for your wedding reception, depending on the size of your party. For more intimate gatherings these could take place on the lawn, or on the upstairs kitchen which can hold 20 guests seated and 50 standing. The lawn can seat 120 guests and will normally require a marquee (at an extra cost).
Dancing is possible with the hiring of a dedicated dance floor for 120 guests and will provide an amazing location for some late-night dancing and celebrating in a beautiful location. Dancing can go on until whatever time is desired, as there are no music restrictions here.
Where to stay
Torre Caballe can accommodate 18 adult guests, with some extra beds available for children. Its nine well-appointed bedrooms, featuring king and super-king size beds, offer comfort and luxury for all.
For further accommodation, we suggest that guests stay in the nearby town of Fuentespalda, where there are options to suit a range of budgets. Although Torre Caballe does not provide transport between the local town and the villa, they are happy to suggest a trusted company to help with your needs.
Wedding Planning
The owners can recommend a wedding planner, or guests are welcome to bring their own if that is desired.
Catering
The owners can provide in house catering or can outsource this, depending on the guests desires.
The owners do not charge an additional corkage.
Other Information
Weddings can only be held between Mid-May and Mid-October at Torre Caballe, however you are not restricted by start or end times during this period.
The owners can provide a list of trusted suppliers for:

There is a set event price of €2500 (subject to change). There may be an additional fees for cleaning depending on the scale of the wedding. This is the same for if portaloos are required.
Please note that any event rental may be subject to additional charges, venue hire fees and to a higher security deposit, which will be in addition to any published rental rates and fees.
All events are on request only and subject to prior agreement from the owner, who reserves the right to refuse all events without their prior authorisation.

I have owned the property since 2002. It was just a ruin and took 7 years to transform to the property you see today.
What was it about the property that you first fell in love with?
As soon as I came down the track and saw the stunning position in front of the mountains I knew this was the one. It has a view like no other. The building itself being a fortified farmhouse with tower had many interesting features as well.
Do you have a favourite room in the property?
Definitely the ‘Rock room’. A huge sitting room in what was an old stone barn with a very high ceiling and cosy fire for winter

Really do?
The gorge walk in Beceite is stunning with an excellent walkway along the river. The walk from the property to the top of the mountain and look out point is also unmissable.

Bring a good sized high clearance vehicle if possible to explore the hidden gems of the area
The owner is one of the 5th generation of the Grant’s whisky family in Scotland and has a wonderful honesty bar of all the family products in the property.

Silence and beauty
The choice of Torre Caballe was a success. It is located in the middle of nature and although access via a 4km forest track is not easy, the silence and beauty of the surroundings provide a total disconnection from urban life.
Both the owner and the people who manage the property create a friendly and pleasant atmosphere that helps you enjoy your stay. -

Beautiful property decorated with great taste and with all kinds of amenities in the middle of nature. Luis and his family made us feel at home. Nothing is missing and you only have to worry about enjoying and resting.

If you are looking for peace and relaxation it is a good place.
It was a surprise for my birthday and it couldn't have been more appropriate. It's a charming place, if you are looking for peace and relaxation it is a good place. It is located in an environment surrounded by nature, you do not remember that civilization exists, you only see a green sea of vegetation around you. It is also a good place to see birds, insects and shooting stars, since there is no light pollution. The facilities are very well maintained and the pool is spectacular. The room we were assigned was nice, very comfortable and clean.
As for the treatment, it was unbeatable thanks to Luis and his wife, who is the chef of the place. We recommend their dishes and there is no problem if you have food intolerances because they adapt everything to you without a problem. Also mention the owner and his family, all very friendly.
It was a complete weekend full of history, nature and gastronomy because Matarraña is a treasure.
**If I will mention the access to the complex it is through a forest track, be careful if the car is low. -

It is an extraordinary place to enjoy silence and nature. Cozy, well maintained and located in a privileged enclave. It is a dream place for those who value tranquility and nature.

Great wedding venue
The perfect setting for a wedding.We recently attended a wedding here it was held in an olive grove overlooking the mountains and the sun shone. The facilities are excellent including the Rock Room, built around a rock, for that late night dancing.

Magical Place
Spent a week at the Masa as part of a group of 20 (10 adults and 10 children). It's a wonderful place: fantastic accommodation, great food and an unbelievable setting.
Luiz, Jenny and Rodriguez looked after us so well and were so accommodating. The places to go to they suggested were perfect and the restaurants that they booked for us were just right. Jenny's meals were like being in a top restaurant every night and she looked after the kids really well with a different menu for them. The breakfast choice was great as well.
We just did not want to leave after our week there and are already planning how we can go back again. -
The perfect getaway
We live in Madrid and were recommended Torre Caballe from our friends and were very thankful. It's a 4 hour drive from Madrid through Zaragoza and totally isolated. When you pass Fuentespalda on the highway look closely for the small sign and then proceed down a fun 5km road until arriving to the house.
The scenery is stunning, set near the top of a hill overlooking a valley and in the midst of an almond tree grove. Immediately upon arrival you are met by Luis, a friendly Peruvian man who will be your host throughout your stay.
We ate all breakfasts and dinners at the hotel, and the Jenny's cooking is fantastic. After a couple of days you feel at home, wine/whisky is served on the honour system and the selection is excellent!
Finally, the rooms are top-notch, the beds very comfortable, and the decorations incredible throughout the whole house. Because it's so quiet and comfortable, I have NEVER slept so well.
I love hiking, and there's lots of exploring to do in the hills around Torre Caballe. Ask Luis how to get to the lookout over the lake (about an hour roundtrip, but worth the trip!) -
Stunning scenery and blissfully peaceful
We only stayed here for a weekend, but when we returned to Madrid I honestly felt like I'd been away for several weeks. Jenny and Luis looked after us so well, providing endless delicious meals. The Torre itself is in a magical spot with incredible views and the owner has thought of everything when providing facilities for his guests - I only wish we had gone in the summer and we could have lounged in the pool all day! I would definitely recommend this magical hotel for sheer escapism, beauty and relaxation - we were lucky enough to catch the Valentines Day cello concert too which was a real treat.

Fantastic!
Wonderful two nights spent here in August. We wished we had stayed far longer. Jenny and Luis are gracious hosts and the hotel was spotless, in a spectacular location and we can not wait to return. It is an interesting access road but our rental, a Toyota Yaris, made it without any problems. Remote but with excellent wireless Internet access, this is a place for relaxing but you can stay in touch with the world if you wish to. Go, you will not regret it.
