Situated just outside of the charming town of Teulada, this spacious finca-style villa is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the beautiful views out to the surrounding landscape.

Located off a quiet country road, Villa Comes occupies a tranquil setting with a large outdoor area that feels completely removed from the bustle of daily life. Arranged over two floors, the villa is typically constructed with whitewashed walls and traditional tiled roofs, creating large overhangs. The interiors are bright and well-proportioned, with exposed beams and vaulted ceilings and terracotta-coloured tiled floors, adding character and a sense of warmth to the rooms.

The front door opens into a central living space with a fireplace set into the wall and two generous sofas arranged in the centre, offering a comfortable seating area to relax in the evenings. Large sliding doors span the front of the room, bringing in plenty of natural light whilst giving access to the terrace beyond. A doorway to leads off to one side, past a dining area to the kitchen. Finished in a traditional style, with tiled walls and wooden cupboards, the charming kitchen is well-equipped for preparing meals. The preceding spaces wrap around an interior courtyard, where a small table and chairs offer the ideal spot to enjoy your morning coffee.

On the other side of the living room, there is a double bedroom, as well as a room with twin beds and a bathroom with a shower. The two other bedrooms are accessed by a staircase leading from the central space. Minimally furnished, they both feature a large double bed and have access to colourfully decorated ensuite bathrooms. There is underfloor heating and air conditioning throughout the rooms, ensuring that a comfortable temperature can be found at all times of the year.

From the kitchen, double doors give access to a patio to an outdoor dining table. Shaded beneath the substantial overhanging roof, it is a wonderful spot to relax over a leisurely lunch whilst enjoying the view over the surrounding landscape. Whilst the terrace is easily served from the kitchen, a rustic fire stove is ideal for grilling some fish and making the most of the balmy nights by sharing a barbecued dinner under the stars.

To the side of the front patio, steps lead down to the terraced garden that expands to the property boundary. Enclosed on one side by towering cypress trees, the secluded outside space opens up to impressive views of the countryside beyond. A generous swimming pool sits in the centre, perfect for a swim, whilst a number of sun loungers line its edge, inviting you to lie back and relax beneath the clear blue skies. There is also a ping-pong table for a bit of fun, and a shaded one offers a lovely spot to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening whilst watching the sunset over the surrounding hills.

Set in the charming countryside region of Teulada, Villa Comes is surrounded by a wonderful agricultural landscape. The area's economic activity was originally founded on the sweet Roman muscat grapes used to make the famous Muscatel, and a number of vineyards still dot the terraced slopes, covered in olive trees and orange groves.

The gothic-walled town itself is small and friendly, with a handful of bars, restaurants and a convenient supermarket. Wander through the narrow streets to explore houses from the 17th and 18th centuries, and stop in the central square to discover the 16th-century temple fortress of Saint Catherine Church. Here you can also find the Bodega Cooperativa San Vicente Ferrer and taste some of the sweet Muscatel dessert wine.

Part of a shared municipality, Teulada's other half, Moraira, is located on the coast, just a 15-minute drive away. The charming town offers a number of lovely beaches for swimming, such as the popular L'Ampolla beach or head to the picturesque El Portet to enjoy its golden sands and beautifully clear waters. From El Portet, you can rent a kayak or paddle-board to explore the rocky inlets up close. Alternatively, venture along the cliff path to admire the 16th-century watchtower perched atop the Mount of Cap D'Or. Its strategic position on the point offers a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the splendid view out to sea across the bay.

Whilst the surrounding coastline has any number of coves and beaches to choose from, a 30-minute drive will bring you to the spectacular Cala Granadella. Wind down through the thick pine forest to this delightful hidden bay, surrounded by high cliffs and wild vegetation. Known for its crystal-clear Blue Flag beach, it is a great place to go snorkelling and discover the sea bed or swim out to the floating platform. Perched on the southern point, Castell de Granadell was once a prominent fortress, and the ruins can be accessed via a trail from the beach. Walk out along the rocky cliff to the remaining stones of the fortification, where you will be rewarded with panoramic views along the coastline. Loop back to the beach for a refreshing drink at one of the seafront restaurants or sample a plate of the traditional arroz a banda, a delicious rice dish cooked in fish stock.

Down the coast, the vibrant town of Calpe has plenty to offer, with its monumental Penon de Ifach mountain that gives the landscape its distinctive shape, or further south, you can find the lively city of Benidorm. Leave the car and enjoy the slow pace of the light railway tram that runs direct from Teulada, inviting you to relax and enjoy the surrounding scenery. Stop off for lunch in the city, and take a walk in the iconic L'Aiguera Park, designed by Richard Bofill. Separating the old quarter from the more modern buildings, the long green stretch is perfect for picnics or playing in the park, and there are two amphitheatres which regularly hold shows and events during the summer months.

Region

Costa Blanca is famous for the ‘Brits Abroad’ culture, and it’s understandable why it attracts such crowds throughout the summer months. Guaranteed weather, world-class beaches, tons of family facilities and bumpin’ nightlife is a recipe in popularity. Why not experience a different side of Costa Blanca with a villa holiday?

Behind the crowds on the tourist beaches lie incredible mountains, hidden coves, vineyards and ancient villages that have yet to be discovered. You’ll also find some seriously swanky eateries and luscious spa experiences if you’re all about kicking back in luxury.
