About the surrounding area of Joya de MarbellaJoya de Marbella is located in Cascada de Camojas, one of Costa del Sol's most prestigious neighbourhoods. Located north of Marbella's Golden Mile and nestled in the foothills of La Concha Mountain, it's an idyllic place to live. With hiking trails right from the door, you can enjoy peaceful walks through forested areas complete with beautiful waterfalls and far-reaching views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Golf enthusiasts can also enjoy access to some of the finest courses in the Costa del Sol, but closest to the property is Monte Paraíso Golf. Less than a 5-minute drive away, lovers of the game can enjoy practising their handicap on this short but challenging 9-hole course that meanders through mountains and lakes. Nearby you'll also find tennis and paddle clubs and, of course, the beautiful beaches of Marbella.
Playa de la Fontanilla and Playa de Venus are both centrally located and are a 10-minute drive from the villa. They are good spots for swimming and sunbathing, while the more energetic can hire a jet ski or paddleboard and spend the afternoon out on the water. After a day on the beach, step onto the glamorous promenade and enjoy a bite to eat at one of the many gourmet restaurants. Away from the shoreline, Marbella's old town is a pretty place to while away a few hours. Stroll through the narrow streets with its flower-filled window boxes and stop for a coffee in the Plaza de Los Naranjos. Here you can admire the Moorish and baroque architecture, then visit the Museum for Contemporary Spanish Engravings and discover the works of Miro, Dali and Picasso.
While Marbella offers plenty to do and see, the bustling area of Puerto Banus is also a popular spot and less than 15 minutes by car from the villa. Spend the afternoon browsing the designer stores, then head to the glittering harbour for a meal at one of the Michelin-starred restaurants. Alternatively, simply sit back with a drink and spot the rich and famous who frequent the area. Away from the harbour, further entertainment includes an aquarium, multi-screen cinema and a five-floor Spanish department store, while in the heart of Puerto Banus, history lovers can explore the ruins of a Roman villa dating back to the late first or early second century.

Best Suited For: All AgesThere's plenty to keep the kids entertained at Joya de Marbella. Living areas are large and luxurious, with a huge lounge that invites sociability, and the five en-suite bedrooms mean everyone can enjoy their own space.
During the day, kids can choose between splashing in the indoor heated pool, taking it easy with a movie in the cinema room, or chilling out in the games room. Older children can also make use of the gymnasium, while younger ones can enjoy the dedicated play area. But when the weather is good, children of all ages will want to be outdoors enjoying the extensive garden and two swimming pools where they can splash underneath the waterfall features. After a day's activity, they can unwind on the comfy garden furniture or enjoy an al fresco meal on the terrace.
Children can also enjoy walks in nature with hiking trails straight from the door. Cascada de Camojan includes a hiking area less than 5 minutes from the property and is an easy walk through the mountains, and features a beautiful waterfall.
For a day at the beach, grab the sun cream and hop in the car to Marbella. Just a 10-minute drive away, there are a number of sandy beaches to choose from, and the crystal clear waters make swimming safe for all ages. Afterwards, brush the sand from your feet and have a casual bite to eat at one of the many beachfront chiringuitos or stroll to the harbour for ice cream. There's even a place that rents mini-electric cars so the kids can have fun driving along the promenade.
For a more madly active day, drive 20 minutes east from the villa to Aventura Amazonia. This park is the largest adventure park in Andalusia and is a great day out for the whole family. There are plenty of challenges and courses to choose from, including zip wires through the pine trees and bridges across the forest. Alternatively, head 20 minutes west and spend the day spotting rhinos, giraffes, hippos, elephants and lions at Selwo Aventura.
