Designed with only the most discerning holiday-makers in mind, Casa Blasco is a beautifully presented six-bedroom villa that is ideal for large family and friendship groups alike. Located on a large plot in a quiet residential street, this wonderfully private and stylish villa offers everything you'll need to enjoy a relaxing and memorable stay. The villa interior features an eclectic range of styles, fusing country-cottage charm with fresh, contemporary style for a warm and comforting family-friendly vibe.
Casa Blanco is unique to other holiday properties in that it features several interior living spaces, all with comfortable sofas and seating areas for relaxation - ideal for two or more families staying together but who might also want to enjoy some privacy or' me time' away from the rest of the group. Extra features include a spacious indoor leisure area with a pool table - ideal for family game nights - a large dining room for cosy family meals, and even a study for those for whom business never sleeps!
The villa's bedrooms and common areas are spread over three floors, and each room is bright, airy and spacious. The ground floor is home to a twin bedroom and stylish ensuite bathroom, making it ideal for kids. Here you'll also find the games room and a wonderful-sized living area, making the whole floor almost self-contained (bar kitchen facilities) and features direct access to the pool terrace. This level would be perfect for older teens who want to feel that they are holidaying independently of their parents!
The first floor is definitely an area where all of your guests can hang out and enjoy each other's company, as this is where the dining room is located, along with another spacious living room. Casa Blanco's well-equipped kitchen is here on the first floor and features all of the appliances, utensils and cookware you'll need to enjoy your stay, as well as a wine cellar. There is access from this main floor to the private pool terrace, accessible by a magnificent stone staircase. The number of stairs in and around the villa makes it unsuitable for those with limited mobility and could prove difficult for younger children or older guests.
It is on the second floor where you'll discover the rest of the villa's magnificent bedrooms. The master suite is incredibly grand, with a presidential bed and ensuite shower room with a jacuzzi (be sure to call dibs on this room when you tell the rest of your guests you're booking Casa Blasco!). Luckily, the other bedrooms are just as beautiful, so no one will be disappointed. There are three more kingsize rooms, two of which share access to a full bathroom with a shower and would be ideally suited to a couple with children, and the third features ensuite shower facilities.
Casa Blanco's grounds are just as impressive as the interior, with plenty of space for sunbathing, reading and relaxing. There are several fully-furnished terraces for enjoying pre-dinner drinks or alfresco meals, and of course, the fabulous private pool, situated in the garden area and surrounded by hammocks for the ultimate holiday luxury.
What you should know…
- The villa’s twin bedroom - which is the one best suited to kids, is on the ground floor, while the other bedrooms are located on the second floor. This could prove an issue if you are travelling with children who might need to be attended to at the night
- Casa Blasco features a poolside shower - perfect for freshening up after a cooling dip in the private pool rather than having to head inside to shower
- Some areas of the beaches in nearby Maspalomas and Meloneras welcome nudists
- Two of the villa’s double bedrooms share a bathroom

Location
About the surrounding area of Casa BlascoCasa Blasco is located in a quiet residential street in Sonnenland, literally ‘land of the sun, in one of the less ‘touristy’ areas of the island. This stunning villa is ideally located for large groups who want to enjoy Gran Canaria’s laid-back and relaxed vibe while still being close to the bustling resorts. In the immediate surroundings, you’ll find plenty of cafes, shops and restaurants - mostly serving traditional Canarian fare - to explore. Because Sonnenland is slightly inland, it doesn’t benefit from having its own beach but is just a short drive (or around a forty-minute walk if you’re feeling energetic!) from the beaches and attractions of the high-end and popular resorts of Maspalomas and Meloneras, where not only will you find a wider range of cuisines available, but supermarkets, bars and souvenir shops as well.
Both towns are filled with fantastic seafront restaurants that offer a tantalising mix of fantastic views and even better food! If seafood is a particular favourite, you’re in for a treat, but the region also has a wide range of delicious choices on offer shellfish dishes, grilled calamari, paella, steaks, tapas, vegetarian and vegan options, burgers and pasta dishes - not to mention plenty of places to enjoy cocktails and pre-dinner drinks. Maspalomas is well-known for its upmarket shopping area, where you’ll find labels such as La Perla, Burberry and Tommy Hilfiger. You’ll find this area to the right of the Maspalomas lighthouse, and if you walk further along the beach, you’ll come to the Bellavista and El Varadero shopping centres, which are home to even more bars, cafes and restaurants, as well as shops and boutiques.
We recommend visiting the area’s golden dunes while you’re here, a protected site that covers over a thousand acres. Most of the dunes can be explored on foot, allowing you to take in sights such as the beautiful lagoon and lighthouse, but we recommend taking a 40-minute camel safari (more than enough time to spend on the back of a camel!) for a truly unique and fun way to experience this incredible landscape.
The Maspalomas Botanic Garden is an often underrated attraction that is well worth a visit while you’re here. Situated right next to the Salobre golf course, this collection of cacti and brightly coloured flowers provide the perfect photo opportunity pit stop.

THE REGION
Maspalomas is not just known for its enormous expanse of dunes next to the sea or its great climate. It is also known for its old Lighthouse, which saw the first tourists arrive and witnessed the area turn into a holiday resort.
Just a few metres from the promenade, bathers and walkers dive into the sand, which marks the start of the Maspalomas Natural Dune Reserve, made up of three eco-systems: Palmeral, Charca and Dunas (Palms, Pond and Dunes), which run in parallel a few metres from the sea. The whole area is an enormous, exceptionally valuable natural space.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesFamilies with kids are sure to love Casa Blasco’s spacious rooms and grounds, private pool, extras such as WiFi and flatscreen satellite TVs, and the villa’s games room. A cot and highchair are available on request, which will make life easier for those travelling with very young children, and the choice of twin and double rooms should make it easy for family groups travelling with older children - although it should be noted that the twin bedroom is on a separate floor to all of the double bedrooms. Children will adore the villa’s private pool, which is perfect for cooling off from the hot sun - although parents should be aware that there is no kind of safety barrier, so young children will need to be well supervised if playing on the pool terrace.
Sonneland is a pretty, unspoiled town with a quiet, laid-back atmosphere, and there are plenty of cafes, shops and restaurants to explore within walking distance of the villa. Adventurous young eaters will enjoy sampling the traditional Canarian dishes, which make up the majority of the cuisines in the immediate area, but for those who are less open to new gastronomic experiences, you might have to travel a little further afield. Children with simpler tastes certainly won’t starve here in Sonnenland, but their choices will be fairly basic and quite limited. Luckily nearby Maspalomas has an array of restaurants that offer a wider range of cuisines, including pizzerias, steakhouses and burger bars. While you’re in the area with the kids, it’s well worth heading to one of the area’s stunning beaches for a day of sun and sand before strolling along the promenade and enjoying an ice cream or refreshing beverage.
The town is also home to great beaches and markets, as well as cycling and walking routes and shopping centres - so guests of all ages will find plenty to enjoy. El Faro de Maspalomas - one of the oldest lighthouses in Europe, is well worth a visit while you are here with the kids. This fascinating landmark is a popular tourist destination thanks to its picturesque beach setting and rich history that lends itself perfectly to a calming and interesting family day out. With plenty of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants in the surrounding area, it’s the perfect ‘base camp’ for your day out, with everything you need: sand, sea, sights and refreshments all in one place.
For something a little more adventurous, we recommend enjoying a family day out at Aqualand Maspalomas, a water-based amusement park filled with adrenaline-fuelled waterslides and wave pools. Here you’ll have the opportunity to swim with sea lions, as well as enjoy a serene floating tour of the Pirate River - there really is something for everyone. Oliver recommends booking tickets for the park’s VIP zone, where cushioned sun chairs are serviced by friendly staff and make for a welcome spot for a shady rest.

A wonderful place
This is a wonderful place to stay! It delivers on space, luxury and amenities. Please be aware though, the villa is in a very residential area and not suitable for parties. If you're going to be loud, this is not the place to stay.
