Nestled in a quiet, residential street in the beautiful southern area of Sonnenland Gran Canaria, Casa Quevedo is a stunning four-bedroom villa distributed over various levels that accommodates up to eight guests in style and comfort. Visually breathtaking both inside and out, the villa’s bright and sunny personality is apparent from the offset, with its eye catching exterior walls and classic white shutter, intricately tiled steps and well-maintained private garden. The interior is spacious, light and airy, featuring a neutral decor in shades of white and cream, with accents of chic grey and scarlet offering exciting pops of colour. The living area is modern in style - the perfect place to relax and unwind, with comfy sofas and armchairs, classic wooden furniture, and a flat-screen satellite TV for your entertainment.
Casa Quevedo’s kitchen/diner is equally stylish, with a country-cottage style vibe that includes tiled flooring, rich wooden units and cream countertops. There’s also a classic wooden dining table with enough room for eight guests. In the kitchen, you’ll find everything you need to prepare family meals during your stay, including a ceramic hob and oven, fridge-freezer, coffee machine, and toaster, as well as all of the utensils, crockery and glassware you’ll need during your stay. There’s also a handy utility space with a washing machine and dryer - meaning you can pack light and leave plenty of room in your cases to bring home all of those souvenirs!
The villa features four double bedrooms. Large, comfortable beds promise guests a restful night, and there’s plenty of wardrobe space for added convenience. Balcony access means that guests can enjoy the townscape views over the prettily coloured houses and out towards the sea - it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a morning cuppa as you take in your wonderful surroundings. Casa Quevedo also benefits from having three bathrooms - one of which is ensuite to the master bedroom - and all of which are modern.
The garden area is private and secure, and despite having neighbours, you’ll never feel too overlooked. There is a covered outdoor area accessible from the living area, as well as an outdoor dining space and barbecue area for alfresco meals the whole family will enjoy. After a hearty feed, why not make your way to the Casa Quevedo’s private pool area to recline on a lounger with an after-dinner drink or a good book while the kids play. The villa’s pool is accessible by Roman steps, making getting in and out nice and easy for the kids, and although there’s no fence or safety barrier of any kind around the water, well-supervised children will love having somewhere to cool off after a busy day in the sunshine.

- There is no beach in Sonnenland as you are more inland - however, the beach resort of Maspalomas is just a short drive away

- The villa’s private pool has Roman steps, making it easily accessible for guests of all ages. Parents should note that the pool doesn’t have a safety barrier or fence of any kind, so young children will need to be well supervised

About the surrounding area of Casa QuevedoSonnenland is a charming and pretty town located on the south of the island and has a name that literally translates as ‘the land of the sun'. Set on a hillside above the popular high-end resorts of Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles, Sonnenland is one of the quieter areas of the island, with a very relaxed, laid-back and less ‘touristy’ vibe than some parts of Gran Canaria. Located in the suburbs and further inland, Sonnenland has no beach of its own, but the beach resort of Maspalomas and all it has to offer in the way of sea, sand, shops and attractions is just a short drive away - or a 40-minute stroll if you are feeling energetic!
If you want to stay in the area and simply enjoy the peace and tranquillity, you’ll find plenty of cafes and shops to explore. The bars and restaurants here are, for the most part, traditionally Canarian and serve both food and drink until late in the evening. However, if you want English food, you may struggle; basic choices are available in some establishments, but if British food is your preferred cuisine, you might have to travel a little further afield.
The good news is that the nearby high-end resorts of Maspalomas and Meloneras are bursting with fantastic seafront restaurants offering fantastic views and even better food! If seafood is a particular favourite, you’re in for a treat, but you won’t struggle to find other types of cuisine here, either! The region has a wide range of delicious cuisine on offer such as pulpo and prawns, grilled calamari, paella, steaks, tapas, burgers and pasta dishes - as well as plenty of bars where you can enjoy cocktails and pre-dinner drinks.
There are some fantastic outdoor markets to visit in the area, both during the week and on Saturdays, with stalls selling everything from clothing to fresh produce. You’ll find a wide array of aloe vera products on sale here, as the plant is native to Gran Canaria, so be sure to grab some locally-sourced skincare during your visit! If you’re looking for a higher-end shopping experience, head to Boulevard Faro, where you’ll find well-known labels like La Perla, Burberry and Tommy Hilfiger, and, if you walk a little further along the seafront, you’ll come to the Bellavista Shopping Centre and El Varadero Shopping Centre, as well as even more cafes, bars and restaurants that offer a welcome break when you can’t carry any more bags!

THE REGION
Maspalomas is not just known for its enormous expanse of dunes next to the sea or its great climate. It is also known for its old Lighthouse, which saw the first tourists arrive and witnessed the area turn into a holiday resort.
Just a few metres from the promenade, bathers and walkers dive into the sand, which marks the start of the Maspalomas Natural Dune Reserve, made up of three eco-systems: Palmeral, Charca and Dunas (Palms, Pond and Dunes), which run in parallel a few metres from the sea. The whole area is an enormous, exceptionally valuable natural space.

Best Suited For: All AgesWe think that the kids would delight in staying at Casa Quevedo - the sunshine-coloured walls make it feel like a fun and happy place to stay! The villa has enclosed grounds, meaning that you can relax while the kids play safely on the lawn area or splash about in the pool, and there’s even a little swing set for the youngest children.
There’s plenty of space both inside and out for busy family life, and the kids are sure to enjoy being able to eat outside with the family. The outdoor dining area has a remote cover, so you can make the area as shaded as you like - perfect for keeping the little ones out of the sun during the hottest part of the day.
Casa Quevedo is set in a quiet area where you’ll find cafes, shops and restaurants. Adventurous young eaters will enjoy sampling the traditional Canarian dishes, but for those who are less open to new gastronomic experiences, you might have to travel a little further afield. Nearby Maspalomas has an array of restaurants that offer a wider range of cuisines, including pizzerias, steakhouses and burger bars. While you’re in the area with the kids, it’s well worth heading to one of the area’s fabulous beaches for a day of sun and sand before strolling along the promenade and enjoying an ice cream or a cold drink.
One must-see attraction if you are visiting with the kids is El Faro de Maspalomas - one of the oldest lighthouses in Europe. This fascinating landmark is a popular tourist destination thanks to its picturesque beach setting and rich history that lends itself perfectly to a calming and interesting family day out. With plenty of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants in the surrounding area, it’s the perfect ‘base camp’ for your day out.
If you end up staying in Maspalomas into the evening, we recommend a family trip to the Moonlight Cinema, Europe’s only permanent outdoor cinema. The kids will love cosying up on comfy sofas and blankets as they watch movies under the stars, all while being served freshly prepared food and drinks!

What an amazing villa
What an amazing villa and fantastic company to use. Communication was brilliant from the second we booked and any questions were asked very rapidly. Villa is beautiful, and has all the amenities you could wish for. Big comfortable rooms and plenty of places to lounge. Great location and within walking distance to a taxi rank and an aldi.

It has been a stay of 10. At all times there has been communication with the host and very quickly as well. The house had all the luxuries you could imagine, it didn't lack any detail. It has been a great success to have stayed here. Although the beach was not close, having a car, everything is close at hand. Without a doubt, to repeat.

It was perfect
The kitchen was amazing! Equipped with everything we could need, even Tupperware!! It was perfect. So nice to have a great BBQ by the pool, a real sun trap! also the communication was marvellous.

Well equipped accommodation
Beautiful accommodation, is not directly in the centre, but you can find all restaurants, Bar and shopping within a few minutes walk. Accommodation was clean, well equipped kitchen and generally has everything you need.

Spacious and clean
Spacious, clean and good service. Everything is there. Especially the dryer is a big plus so you had dry towels available every day. During our stay, the dishwasher was broken down, which was solved quickly and adequately.
