Overview
Located in a quiet spot along the promenade to the famous Maspalomas dunes, Villa Alborada is the ideal choice for those who want to enjoy a Mediterranean beach holiday to remember! Luxurious, private and spacious, this stunning three-bedroom villa has it all; looks, charm, and a private pool, all right on the beach! From its gleaming white exterior walls and green shutters to the stone walls and archways that border the grounds, Villa Alborada is a real head-turner, and the interior is just as breathtaking.
Stylish and modern throughout, the villa features a grand open-concept living/dining area with a fresh, light and neutral decor and shiny tiled flooring. There is a contemporary-style cosy corner sofa, well-crafted furniture and cosy armchairs, as well as a large flat screen TV for your entertainment and ample dining space for you and your guests. The villa’s kitchen is incredibly roomy, with plenty of food preparation space and storage and high-end appliances such as an integrated oven, microwave, ceramic hob, fridge-freezer, juicer and dishwasher.
Villa Alborada features three elegantly decorated bedrooms, two doubles and a twin, making it a great accommodation choice for two couples holidaying together or for families with children. The double rooms benefit from fitted wardrobes, and all of the rooms showcase the fantastic ocean and beachfront views - what a sight to wake up to! This well-appointed single-storey property is considered one of the most exclusive in the area, in part thanks to luxurious extras such as a fully-furnished rooftop sun terrace, which offers guests the perfect spot to unwind after a busy day and enjoy pre-dinner drinks as the sun goes down.
Villa Alborada’s private grounds are home to a covered dining terrace and barbecue area, where alfresco meals can be enjoyed, as well as a lounge area shaded by a tall palm and additional good-quality patio furniture for rest and relaxation. A sun-drenched Mediterranean holiday wouldn’t be complete without a pool, and guests at Villa Alborada can enjoy one all of their own! The large private pool is easily accessible by wide steps and a handrail - making it ideal for very young or older guests - and it is slightly raised from the ground, minimising the risk of children slipping and falling while playing nearby.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa AlboradaMaspalomas is one of south Gran Canaria's most celebrated and popular tourist destinations and meets the equally high-end and exclusive town of Meloneras on the seafront. Villa Alborada is right on the beach, overlooking Maspalomas' dunes - undoubtedly one of the area's most beautiful attractions. This protected site covers over a thousand acres, much of which can be explored on foot, allowing you to take in sights such as the beautiful lagoon and lighthouse, but we recommend taking a camel safari for a truly unique and fun way to experience this incredible landscape. The safari lasts for about 40 minutes (definitely long enough to be on the back of a camel!) and affords you some fantastic photo opportunities.
Maspalomas' Botanic Garden is an often underrated attraction that, despite not featuring heavily in many of the guides, is always a pleasant surprise to visitors. Entrance is free, and the garden offers keen photographers and horticulturists the chance to see and snap cacti and brightly-coloured flowers indigenous to the area all in one place. The botanic garden is situated just five minutes from the lighthouse and is right next to the island's famous Salobre Golf Course, where you'll find restaurants, bars and leisure facilities.
Enjoying good food is one of the best parts of any holiday, and visitors to the area will be pleased to know that there is a huge choice of restaurants along the waterfront of both Maspalomas and Meloneras. Las Rias is one of the most popular with tourists and locals alike and can be found right near the lighthouse on the seafront. Specialising in seafood, this family-run establishment serves up a dish of pulpo and prawns with potato foam and grilled calamari that really have to be tasted to be believed! When it comes to seafood, you're going to be spoilt for choice here, but for those who consider themselves more 'turf' than 'surf', there are also some great steak restaurants in the area, such as La Churassco, as well as plenty of places offering Italian cuisine, tapas bars, and eateries with great vegetarian and vegan menus.
After enjoying some of the local cuisines, we recommend taking a waterfront stroll - especially around sunset. Boulevard Faro in Meloneras is 2km long and runs along Playa del Ingles beach and past some of the region's most upmarket restaurants, hotels and shops. Further along, the route becomes quieter, and you'll discover some of the most idyllic and romantic sea views in all of Gran Canaria.

THE REGION
Maspalomas is not just known for its enormous expanse of dunes next to the sea or its great climate. It is also known for its old Lighthouse, which saw the first tourists arrive and witnessed the area turn into a holiday resort.
Just a few metres from the promenade, bathers and walkers dive into the sand, which marks the start of the Maspalomas Natural Dune Reserve, made up of three eco-systems: Palmeral, Charca and Dunas (Palms, Pond and Dunes), which run in parallel a few metres from the sea. The whole area is an enormous, exceptionally valuable natural space.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesIf you’re looking for family-friendly accommodation, a beachfront villa like Alborada is simply perfect; just a stone’s throw from the dunes and the sea. The children will enjoy playing on the golden sands and paddling in the clear waters before heading back to the villa to enjoy an alfresco meal with the family or splashing about in their own private pool. The villa is all on one level (bar the rooftop terrace), making it a great choice for those travelling with young children, and there is a highchair and cot available on request for those under two years old.
A must-see attraction while staying in this stunning location is El Faro de Maspalomas - one of the oldest lighthouses in Europe. This fascinating landmark is a popular tourist destination thanks to its picturesque beach setting and rich history that lends itself perfectly to a calming and interesting family day out. With plenty of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants in the surrounding area, it’s the perfect ‘base camp’ for your day out, with everything you need: sand, sea, sights and refreshments all in one place.
For another once-in-a-lifetime experience, older kids will love a trip to the Moonlight Cinema, Europe’s only permanent outdoor cinema. The kids will love cosying up on comfy sofas and blankets as they watch movies under the stars, all while being served freshly prepared food and drinks!
Whether you’re travelling with toddlers, school-age children or teens, we recommend heading to Maspalomas’ Palmitos Park, an interactive zoological and botanical centre that lets guests get up close and personal with exotic birds like parrots, toucans and flamingos. Children of all ages will delight in a walk around the butterfly house before heading to see reptiles such as komodo dragons, caiman and turtles. If cute and furry is more their thing, the park also houses a wide array of cuddly-looking critters, including meerkats, aardvarks and wallabies that the kids will adore!
For a truly unique experience, Palmitos Park offers a ‘Dolphin Encounters’ experience where small groups can enjoy half an hour spent with these majestic creatures. Here you’ll learn about their biology and habits in a fun and interactive way and even be able to take some souvenir photographs. The dolphin experience can be booked once you have entered the park rather than in advance, and we recommend reserving your places by 10 am to guarantee you the chance to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Amazing property with excellent facilities
We stayed at Villa Alborada for 2 weeks with 2 young children in March 2022. The property is amazing with excellent facilities for families, cosy and comfortable, good size pool and a fantastic location close to shops, beaches, restaurants and of course the famous dunes which are just opposite the villa. The host is very friendly and welcoming and the managing company exceeded our expectation with their top level service. We travel around the world frequently for holidays and this one is definitely on our list to return!
