The stunning Villa Salvaje is a magical blend of old and new. This incredible ‘Payesa’ villa is a 200-year-old traditional house which has been brilliantly refurbished with state-of-the-art features, cleverly mixing traditional insular construction with contemporary architecture. White curved walls and atmospheric wooden beamed ceilings meet modern glass block picture windows inviting incredible views and filling this dream villa with light. With six bedrooms, the villa sleeps, 12 guests.

The Gaudi inspired, the deluxe villa occupies a prime position in Ibiza just a few kilometres from the airport and VIP beaches such as Blue Marlin and Yemanja. It is 4km from San Josep in 3 hectares of lush, vibrant Mediterranean gardens. Fabulous walkways and terraces are draped with colourful bougainvillaea, fruit trees grow in abundance in this natural paradise, and the lush lawns break up the various lounge and chill-out zones. The outstanding swimming pool, with its unique, stunning shape is surrounded by deluxe, trendy lounges of varying shapes on the deck. There is a spectacular alfresco dining area with exquisite furniture and a canopy. Everything in this villa is interesting and different. There is also a meditation corner. There are so many nooks and crannies around the villa for a quiet read or a peaceful morning cup of coffee. The villa boasts stunning views towards the mesmerising sea at Salinas and Formentera.

The refurbishments have resulted in 700 sqm of stunning space. With high-quality fixtures and fittings and thoughtful decoration blending old with new, Villa Salvaje has a modern, elegant feel. The main house is home to a superb, sleek kitchen equipped for large groups and the spacious, all-white living room with its ultimate technology including Apple TV and cool, curved seating arrangements. Vivid artworks break up the dazzling walls. The chill-out and entertainment area is a generous, modern space boasting huge sofas, television, a pool table, football table and a bar. This area also has a club, but it is only accessible for very special occasions.

The white curved walls of the landings and stairwells look like an art gallery with vibrant art and intermittent handpicked pieces of furniture. The six-bedroom suites are astonishing, especially the master, which is a separate casita. It is a large, bright and airy suite with a huge round bed, a massive ensuite bathroom with a built-in curvy bath and a shower, a sofa area and amazing views to the pool area. There are three large, attractive double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, all with baths and showers and two further doubles which share a bathroom. Each of the bedrooms has its own charm. Guests will be delighted with all of them.

Villa Salvaje is very interesting with its blended designs. You will want to spend quite some time walking around it all, exploring all that it has to offer.

What you should know…

  • There are quite a number of steps down to the pool from the living areas. You will have to consider how this villa would work for you if you have mobility problems
  • The master bedroom suite is self-contained. This may not work very well if you have very young children, there again, it might be perfect if you have noisy, older ones!
  • You must make sure you visit some of the hidden hamlets and enjoy the stunning scenery of the island

Villa Salvaje sits on a spectacular 3-hectare countryside plot within easy reach of popular beaches, Ibiza Town and many of the island’s other attractions. Both Blue Marlin and Yemanja Beach Clubs are glamorous beachside clubs that are very popular. Blue Marlin is on the beautiful Cala Jondal Bay and has become the definition of how to live it up Ibiza-VIP style. It is a popular destination for the rich and famous with bubbles flowing, fusions of Mediterranean and the Orient in abundance and regular techno DJ spots. Next door, the Yemanja rustic and sleek club welcome children until 6 pm.

Ibiza Town is not just a party city. There is much diversity. The atmospheric World Heritage-listed Dalt Vila, old town area, occupies the highest ground in Ibiza Town and boasts centuries-old mansions, steep, atmospheric cobbled streets, jasmine draped balconies and a majestic Gothic cathedral. The trendy Marina Botafoch is brimming with chic lounge bars, world-class restaurants and gorgeous boutique shopping.

The fabulous Parc Natural de Ses Salines nature park in the southeast boasts 210 species of birds, sparkling salt pans and breathtaking sandy beaches. Illetes and Llevant Beaches are very popular on the Trucador peninsular. You will think you are in the Caribbean on the salt-white sand sipping mojitos and enjoying the fabulous sunsets.

The mystical island of Es Vedra stands 400m high, 2km off the coast of south-west Ibiza opposite the beach of Cala d’Hort. It is shrouded in myths and legend. You cannot visit the island but will be astounded to look at it protruding like a volcano from the glistening turquoise sea.

Ibiza has a carefree Bohemian spirit. You will find plenty of yoga courses and meditation. Ibiza is known for its holistic spa and relaxation scene. There are 15 spas, some in the wonderful citrus and olive groves of the countryside.

Playa d’en Bossa has the longest beach on the island. It is a paradise for the young crowd with low-tempo music flowing from beachfront DJ’s. There are watersports galore and plenty of restaurants. After dark, it is party central with two of Ibiza’s largest clubs, Ushuaia and Space in the resort. Talamanca is fabulous for a quieter day at the beach. A sweep of snow-white sand is backed with pine-cloaked hills and a quiet resort.

THE REGION

The island's capital is romantic and intriguing, exciting and vibrant, brash and buzzing, cosmopolitan and classic; all rolled into one eye-catching package. By day, she's all about shopping, boating, beach-bar-hopping and historical sightseeing; then, by night, alfresco wining and dining, followed by dancing 'til dawn.

You'll find a great selection of small boutiques, high-end fashion stores, shoe shops and all kinds of novelties. It attracts a very international crowd all year round and is a great place to do some celebrity spotting in the summer. There are some great art galleries and history museums, and the pretty ancient citadel of Dalt Vila is a history lesson in itself. We guarantee you'll never be stuck for something to do.
