Bella Forada is a traditional Spanish finca that has been beautifully restored. Once you step through the front door of the main house, there is an immediate traditional feel, with details such as the dark wooden support-beams and carefully chosen pieces of real wooden furniture (made from Teak, Walnut and/or Mahogany). The Spanish terracotta tiles line the floors throughout the property and the whitewashed walls, soft white/cream furnishings, bed-linen and drapes provide a sense of airy-coolness amidst the semi-dry landscape. The exterior of Bella Forada is typical of a traditional finca, with whitewashed walls and large arching windows. Surrounded by a well maintained and discreetly fenced garden, with the rolling olive, lemon and lime groves stretched out beyond, the outdoor space seems never-ending, yet incredibly private.
The garden and terraced areas are floodlit for those warm summer evenings when it is necessary to cool-off by the pool, whilst listening to the singing cicadas. At its heart lies the beautiful kidney-shaped swimming pool with Roman-style steps, perfect for cooling off in the Spanish sunshine! The pool is surrounded by Balinese style four-poster sun-loungers with linen curtains for added protection, should you find the sun a little bit too much. The pool has also got built-in tiled stools, for those wishing to remain comfortably seated with a drink, whilst enjoying the Ibizan sun.
What you should know…
- Bars and restaurants are not accessible by foot in the immediate area. However, with an outdoor barbecue area, a quick meal is not that difficult to whip up!
- Car hire is advised to be able to explore the area with ease!
- The pool is not fenced, so children should be supervised at all time

THE REGION
At the geographical heart of the island, the village of Santa Gertrudis is Ibiza as a microcosm. Steeped in tradition, the main square is overlooked by the whitewashed fortress church with its distinctive yellow tower and surrounded by a cluster of bars, restaurants and shops. Meanwhile, the rich agricultural landscape surrounding the village is home to fruit orchards, sheep, goats and the island's only dairy cows.
The town itself is an attraction. Nearby is the gorgeous Benirrás beach with its beach club Elements Ibiza and hippie bongo drummers playing as the sun goes down on Sundays. Shopping is hard to resist with many lovely boutiques and the auction house Casi Todo to pick up some antiques. There are several annual festivals in Santa Gertrudis, including the Domingo del Arte art festival and the blessing of the animals in the church.

The area is known for its beautiful beaches, such as Cala Salada, where you can swim, sunbathe, and enjoy stunning clear waters. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, there are plenty of scenic hiking trails that offer panoramic views of the coastline and surrounding countryside. A short drive from the location, you’ll find the tranquil Ses Salines Natural Park, a protected area home to diverse wildlife and salt flats. History enthusiasts can visit the Church of Sant Antoni, a charming 18th-century building, or explore the town’s cultural heritage through local markets and galleries. Additionally, the nearby coastal cliffs provide an excellent opportunity for scenic walks, offering a peaceful escape into nature.
When the sun is shining, make your way down to Figueretas for some Kayaking & Stand Up Paddling. Here you’ll find clear waters with next to no waves. So, there’s no excuses for losing your balance and making a splash! After the day's fun and excitement, you are spoilt for choice in terms of restaurants and places to eat.

Parents, sons, their wives and grandchildren
The Villa is very spacious, with excellent areas for the family to gather together both inside and out. The outside kitchen worked well for lunches and dinners. It is very well equipped with excellent appliances (as was the main kitchen) with one of the most impressive dining tables any of us have ever seen! There is ample outside space both around the pool and in the shade, which proved very useful in the heat of the day, with the elevated position offering beautiful views. Also the games room is great for keeping young kids entertained when you would rather they weren't in the sun, with a pool table, table tennis and table football. The owners were incredibly friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Whilst there is little in the immediate area, nothing is very far away. There is a choice of several supermarkets and restaurants in nearby San Antonio (10-15 mins away) whilst the airport minutes is only 20 minute away. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and look forward to returning.

A wonderful house, typical Ibiza style. Big swimming pool with amazing views. Great Balinese beds, many sunbeds, a lovely jacuzzi a strong barbeque and lots more!
