Can Bufar is a wonderful, large, rural five bedroomed Mediterranean style house sleeping up to 10 guests on the North West Coast of Mallorca Surrounded by fields and trees and with little traffic, this is off the well-trodden tourist trail and offers a slice of ‘real’ Mallorca. Can Bufar is only 250 metres from the old fishing port of the Canonge, with a small cobbled beach surrounded by pines and the oldest known rocks on the island. There is a restaurant, bar, café, internet café and pub only 250 metres away, and the charming authentic coastal village of Banyalbufar is a 15-minute drive away.
Nestled in the Serra de Tramuntana Mountains, this beautiful region offers you the chance to see a more genuine Mallorca, with pretty villages, historical places of interest, spectacular mountain ranges and a beautiful rugged coastline with glistening waters. At Can Bufar you are perfectly placed to enjoy all this stunning region has to offer.
Can Bufar is a lovely spacious rural retreat perfect for families, groups and outdoor enthusiasts, with a bright, colourful sunny exterior and a spacious, calm interior of whitewashed walls, exposed beams, cool tiles, warm woods and simple, tasteful furnishings.
The downstairs living area is a cool, airy space with floor to ceiling windows, an oversized comfy sofa and a stylish lounger; you will have plenty of room to chill out and enjoy your flat-screen TV or curl up with a book. The open style kitchen diner offers ample space to rustle up fabulous feasts and enjoy lively dinner parties at the large comfortable dining table. The country-style open kitchen boasts many mod cons, including oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher, microwave, freezer and cooking Island.
Three of the delightful air-conditioned bedrooms are located on the ground floor of the property. There is a large stylish double bedroom with access to the courtyard, a slightly smaller double bedroom and a flexible bedroom with two comfortable single beds. Upstairs there are two large double bedrooms with ample storage space.
Upstairs there is an additional comfortable living space with informal sofas, bar area and small kitchen; this area leads out to a beautiful large covered balcony strewn with colourful sofas and pretty pot plants perfect for pre-dinner cocktails or post-dinner games.
The property has 2 modern bathrooms, a convenient downstairs bathroom with shower/WC and an upstairs bathroom with a bathtub/bidet/WC
Outside is your own private paradise with spectacular views of the sea, mountains and valley. The pretty pergola style covered dining area is perfect for barbeque evenings and alfresco dining, and there is ample seating space to kick back and relax with a long cool drink on lazy sunny days or balmy evenings. The star of the show is your secluded inviting private pool (3 x 5 m, depth 150 cm) which is surrounded by colourful oversized loungers and beautiful countryside views.
The property enjoys free Wi-Fi and air-conditioning throughout and is super family-friendly with a washing machine, iron, children’s high chair and baby cot. There is also room for parking at the house.

About the surrounding area of Can BufarThe tranquil, hillside location of Can Bufar, overlooking the stunning coast and close to the coastal village of Banyalbufar, makes for the perfect spot to live the ‘real’ Mallorca dream.
The town of Banyalbufar is famous for its magnificent views and fabulous landscape. Its ancient terraced hillsides grow oranges and tomatoes and descend down to the sea. There are some great local restaurants, and you can enjoy cellar-door wine tastings at the Bodega son Vives Winery. They produce wonderful wines, and the bodega also produces olive oil.
Cala Banyalbufar has a narrow beach in a beautiful bay surrounded by steep cliffs and mountains. Although the beach is rocky, the view is to die for and a great place to take a swim in turquoise waters; this is a paradise for divers and nature lovers.
There are plenty of secret coves and towns to discover along the west coast!
Valldemosa is a mountain village steeped in old-world charm and dates back to Moorish times. It is home to the beautiful Carthusian monastery where Frédéric Chopin famously stayed for a winter. There is a Sunday market where you can pick up fresh local produce, and whilst in town, you should try the delicious local speciality Coco de Patata available in every bakery!
Also worth a visit is Deia, an idyllic village of honey-coloured houses popular with the rich and famous this is a pretty authentic hideaway. There are several art galleries, gift shops and fabulous restaurants, and there is a real bohemian laidback ambience that attracts many artists and musicians.
The energetic can hire bikes and take the 4 km ride along with a glorious combination of twisting asphalt and turquoise sea views, or it is a pleasant half-hour drive from the property.
There are some fantastic hikes in this region, and close to hand is the 2.5 hour Port des Canonge hike along a coastal path at the very edge of the majestic Serra de Tramuntana Mountains; you can enjoy breath-taking views and a wonderful assortment of scenery and stop off at a charming small village for local refreshments along the way.
Can Bufar offers a great rural retreat however the glittering city of Palma is only 40 minutes drive away. Palma has beautiful architecture, an array of chic boutiques and galleries and plenty of stylish cafes and bars to enjoy, there is a wonderful atmosphere, and this is a lovely place to enjoy a glass of Cava and a plate of tapas at one of the many pavement cafes and simply people watch.
Mallorca also has an array of Championship golf courses, and the oldest course Golf Son Vida, is only eight miles away and a legend among players from all over Europe.
Can Bufar is a brilliant base to explore the west coast of Mallorca and experience a marvellous authentic taste of the island living away from the maddening crowds.

THE REGION
Surrounded by the towering peaks of the Tramuntana mountain range, this quaint Mallorcan district nestles among four smaller peaks, where scattered farms and vineyards scale the heights around the historic town centre.
As well as winding village streets and historic agricultural systems, there is the working fishing port of Es Port de Canonge and a number of coves and beaches for sunbathing and swimming. These include Cala Banyalbufar, Es Corral Fals and Son Bunyola.
For guests who enjoy a spot of retail therapy, Banyalbufar provides an assortment of high-quality shops, bars, and restaurants to help you make the most of your time during your stay. You can travel through the town’s shopping district, taking in its ancient textile industry, known for building world-renowned brands such as Barratts, Lotusse, and Camper. In fact, this area is best known for its plethora of local products, including artisan wines. Guests are encouraged to visit Son Vines Wine Cellar and Bar to test out their wide range of locally-sourced wines.

Can Bufar is a wonderful relaxing hideaway, and the inviting pool and plentiful outside space will be a monster hit with the kids.
Only a short drive away is Esporles, a pretty little village with blonde stone houses on the south side of the Tramontane Mountains. The main street of Esporles is lined with trees and has a wide pedestrianised promenade with cafes and restaurants, and there is a weekly Saturday market. There are quaint narrow lanes with spectacular views to explore, and on the road out of the village towards Banyalbufar, you will find La Granja, a museum in a 17th –century mansion dedicated to the history and traditions of Mallorca. The grounds are large and beautiful, and you will step back in time 400 years and see arts and crafts from this time along with artisans working with iron clay; the kids will love the medieval torture chamber visit! There is a great terrace, restaurant and children’s play area.
The local beach of Port des Canonge is small and charming but is a pebble beach, beautiful sandy beaches with family-friendly facilities are all within an hour’s drive, and Soller is a wonderful option for a family day out.
The pretty little town has lovely local shops and a port with a beautiful large sandy bay which enjoys calm, clear waters. There is a large, lively promenade perfect for strolling, enjoying ice creams and picking up local trinkets. There are a lot of Spanish visitors, and there is a wonderful ‘local’ feel, the whole family will love this pretty seaside town.
There are loads to see and do in the capital Palma, and it only takes 40 minutes by car. The Palma Aquarium is a real gem housing an abundance of sea life and the deepest shark tank in Europe– don’t miss the turtles in the Mediterranean gardens; the kids will love them! The Aquarium also has play areas, a Pirates ship and fountains for the kids to enjoy.
A wonderful gentle way for the kids to explore both Palma and Soller Is to take The Palma to Soller wooden train. The one-way journey lasts around an hour departing from Plaza de Espana in Palma each morning (cash only tickets) and passes through 13 tunnels, goes over a 52-metre viaduct and rises to a height of nearly 200 metres and the scenery is beautiful, you can also to the reverse trip from Soller to Palma, but this is a very popular attraction so do check times locally and get there early!

Super villa in a quiet and nice area
Very nice house well equipped at the heart of a natural area. Small swimming pool to refresh during the hot days ! Owners are super nice (but only speaks spanish).
